This was probably one of the most emotional flights I’ve taken since it was my FIRST INAUGURAL FLIGHT.
I start with a visit to the recently upgraded SAS Gold Lounge at Copenhagen Kastrup Airport.
The lounge is quite big, with a whole new dining area, all-day barista, relaxation rooms, meeting rooms, phone booths, guest offices, and even a light room!
After snacking a bit at the Lounge, I went through passport control (YES, the lounge is BEFORE passport control, so if you have a tight connection make sure to check how many people are queuing for passport control, otherwise you might lose your flight!
The assigned gate was C37 and SAS was hosting a welcome reception and event at 14:00 at the gate. SAS sent an SMS message to all passengers the day before with the invitation to this event, so I wanted to cover it! There was food, drinks (refreshments and beer), and SAS and CPH executives gave a speech regarding the
Boarding was smooth. Occupancy was about 50%, so it was relatively quick. After takeoff the service was EXCELLENT. Welcome bags were waiting for us already at the seat. The crew was very friendly and kind. Seats were comfortable, with nice footrest and recline, big entertainment screen, and power outlets. The food was amazing (some people might consider it bland, but it was very well prepared!). Wifi onboard was on-trials so it took a while until the crew is available.

@@airlapse Honestly I prefer the summer because it can get really cold in the winter. I'm used to the cold and the snow is pretty beautiful some times, but last year it went as low as -40 to -50 degrees F! I definitely like the winter but I like warmth more than the cold I guess lol. I'm glad you love Chicago! I'm from the northern suburbs, but I go downtown a lot and I love it too!

AirLapse yes based in AMS! We actually have quite a few carriers here using the A350: Singapore Airlines, Cathay, Delta, China Airlines and China Eastern. Especially like the nose with the ‘sunglasses’😎 CPH is great too! Have been there quite a few times, either as a destination or transit. Very pleasant airport!

Interior of "New SAS" looks like SJ trains in Sweden... Same color scheme and the seats look the same just another size ;)
First of all, thank you so much for watching! I agree 100% haha, it's very much like SJ. On the business class cabin is even more nordic, a bit more neutral and "executive" style, not so warm. The biggest change in the seats in Economy was also the screen size which is now bigger and more modern. Also, the ceiling is higher so it gives more comfort since the cabin is a bit more open. Other than that it is quite similar :)

Ombord var trevligt, och jag såg redan några ekonomisäten som kändes väldigt öppna och bekväma, särskilt när familj med familjemedlemmar!
De enda två saker som inte var trevliga ombord var (1) badrummen var ofta inte rena av besättningen, och (2) SAS Plus cabin var mycket varm. Jag hoppas att de verkligen förbättrar dessa två saker. För flyg till USA är detta flyg bekvämt eftersom du känner dig mindre trött än A340 / A330.
Ja, snackbaren på baksidan är gratis för Plus-passagerare. Men det är inte gratis för SAS Go :(. Om du flyger Lufthansa har de ofta några snacks i ryggen gratis.

Hur kändes den nya "Plus stolen" var det bra benutrymme och recline? Den nya economy stolen verkar ju vara en stor förbättring med den nya och stora skärmen!
How do you pronounce SAS?
I always pronounce it SAS, as a whole single word. Same with TAP, TAM or VASP.
But I just heard you saying S-A-S, like TWA or KLM

haha, great point! I borrowed the pronunciaton from them actually :). It's S-A-S since it comes from the old name Scandinavian Airlines System (the joint airlines from Sweden, Denmark and Norway). But you are absolutely right that both are OK. Here in the Nordics it's more common to hear S-A-S tho. Thanks a million for watching!

I will never forgive SAS that they don’t have Laphroaig any more in the Gold lounge in Arlanda. Replaced it with crap whisky! They still have Gammeldansk at Kastrup though!

8 abreast in premium... That would be fine in a 777 but it's hardly any better than economy at least in terms of seat width on the A350. I wish airlines would stop thinking that it's ok to do this :/
I totally agree. I was seating on the right, so 2 feels OK, but the middle 4 seats don’t look so nice...

Thanks for watching Louis! You know, you are bringing up something very interested and I forgot to include in the video! I actually DID this! Tried to sleep for a few hours back in economy. HOWEVER, crew came after 15 mins and told me that I wasn't allowed because I was in SAS Plus. They said that it is not allowed to switch cabins, I would be able to do it if I was in Economy. WHAT?? haha it seemed like non-sense to me. I mean, I understand if you want to go from SAS to SAS Plus, but why would they mind the reverse? Anyways, had to go back to my seat. Indeed, it was quite empty back there.

was there and was so disappointed it was actually horrible , the food was a disgrace . The use of plastic cutlery and paper plates just left me a feel of low class .
Hi Samuel! Thanks for watching. I'm sorry to hear. I a slightly different experience (maybe because I was quite enthusiastic). The video covers SAS Plus, they handed out metal cutlery and Orrefors glassware. If you ask any Argentinean (like me :) they'll say food was great, since we don't use hard spices or sauces, but many people would say it was bland. I added this in the comments too. I had a blast overall, although I got the feeling that they could have done a little bit more for Economy. Also, if you hit the dislike button, make sure it is because you didn't like how the video was made, not because you didn't like the flight :)
