I emjoy fixing mowers, i like that you don’t have to go to the store to get a new mower for simple fixes and don’t have to pay out to have someone else fix it
Well done, you made it easy to understand, I've worked on mowers for 40 + years, the first thing I do is check the oil before attempting to start, that's called cya, good video 👍😎
Worked on a lots of these models , were good used one's too sale . these are dandy mowers ....If any body starting out working on these - take your time on these Honda Carburetors - I've worked on taking them a part for so long time - have too go back on the way they came off. There's video's out there too help you assembly them back on the engine correctly and in order.
7:38 POV: You just put on your New Balances, cracked open a frigid Busch Light and are about to make a domination line to show the HOA you still have it
just had a troy bilt with a frozen t-stat preventing the engine from starting. i sprayed some PB Blaster on it and worked it a few time. totally fixed the issue.
IF I made $100 an hour, someone ELSE would be doing ALL my yard work. I like freebees and cheapees and doodling around and getting them going. Thanks and Blessings 2 U!
HA standardized check list! Great idea, I've been thinking of doing this for years but never do. If you make one let me know what it looks like please, it will save tons of time and frustration. Thanks
Hmm the answer to your question for me has two answers. If I can find a good running used mower at about the same cost is the way I would go. However, I also enjoy trying to fix some small engines so depending on what I think is wrong with the used mower I might prefer to buy the less expensive one and try to fix it. Thanks for the videos.
Hey bro, what's up? The engine on this mower sounds very healthy bro. If I had a choice between purchasing a new mower versus a used one, I'll definitely purchase a new one. If I'm not able to get a new mower I'll definitely get a used one from you bro because I'm positive it will be in good working condition.
I have a Husqvarna has a Honda mower on it. The governor is kind of off so you have to mess around with it in a little for a little bit. Otherwise it most great there’s only one wheel that works on the front wheel drive otherwise love it best thing I’ve ever got.
unfortunately I do believe its market strategy. Too many battery stuff coming in, and they would rather focus on everything else, they're working to. Don't forget, they are a very diverse company.
thanks Carlos, I would go with used high end equipment if possible. I would buy stihl echo or Husqvarna trimmers and blowers, and as for the mower, I would get a used honda.
unfortunately I've never had to deal with that situation before, Have you considered using a bungee cord between the two levers for the height adjustment?
hi, i have the same model husqvarna depicted in this video. i cleaned the carburetor, checked the sparkplugs, and cleaned the recoil mechanism with brake cleaner. now the pullcord doesn't feel "stuck," but it still won't start. do you have any recommendations on what to check next?
sure, when then that happens to me, I would just replace the carb. They are very affordable and will take out the carb, from the equation, as far as why it won't start.
@@HomeGaragechannel I just pick up a old craftsman 14” top handle chainsaw that I’m going to work on once I finish tuning up my snowblower for the white stuff we having soon. I enjoy watching all your videos. Keep up the great job. You rock 👍🙏👍🙏
I have trouble keeping fuel lines from disintegrating in my small gas engines. The replacement fuel lines break very quickly in the tank. Do you of better fuel line maker?
sure, when it does it again, I want to you to remove the fuel cap for 5 seconds, and then replace it. and see if the engine starts again. If that works, it mean the vent holes in the fuel cap are clogged with dirt and just need to be cleaned, or replaced
do you like the husky power? (husky is a short term of husqvarna and its easy to say husky instead of husqvarna which the name is kinda hard to pronounce).
I'm on the fence, with Husqvarna mowers, they can have 3 different engines, 3 different drive systems and to be honest, I don't like how it cuts. I would own and use one ,but I simply like the honda.
hydro lock or blow an engine? The thing is i was tuning a carb on a chainsaw and i died instantly and wouldn't crank. Also after it stopped it spat out like a few ml of fuel from the exhaust
You should not have to tune a lawn mower carb. If you are adjusting the engine speed don’t run it a high rpm’s for more than 20 seconds and make sure you have clean and full engine oil.
My Husqvarna started and ran fine I turned it off to put gas in it it won't start back and want to try this myself😅 God no I'm not I changed my mind. 😳
This ALMOST helped but you’re a little too comfy with the lawnmower and have way too much experience for a DIY tutorial you’re not the best at it just like If I did a rapid how to ride a skateboard video, speaking all the lingo. Thanks tho. For the geek squad, this video prob works great
I have a brand new Hyundai Weed eater, the issue is that I mixed what's recommended (fuel, 2 cycle oil) it states to run for 15 min to break in the motor, after that I used it and it smokes and worse if I give it throttle? Is it normal for it to smoke?Would really appreciate your help to see what I'm doing wrong thanks
I emjoy fixing mowers, i like that you don’t have to go to the store to get a new mower for simple fixes and don’t have to pay out to have someone else fix it
you are correct, most often, it's something simple and easy, and if not, it will require a small part to be shipped.
Well done, you made it easy to understand, I've worked on mowers for 40 + years, the first thing I do is check the oil before attempting to start, that's called cya, good video 👍😎
you are correct C.Y.A. is often times overlooked.
What an AWESOME video! I watched til the last second...👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your time here Steve!
Another great fix. I just hope it is the controls that's not allowing the self propel not to work. It is a nice looking mower.
don't worry I already know the answer and the controls are the fault but it's an easy fix.
Thanks Home Garage. I appreciate the time you put in.
Any time!
Thompson Grape Cigarillos were my choice back in the day. Legit smoked them and only them.
ooo.. nice choice!

I would consider using a product called super slick stuff which is a cleaner and lubricant. I use it on all kinds of tools. Also prevents corrosion
really? I'll have to look it up , thanks.
A good second hand mower that has been fully serviced & checked is a good investment.
yes you are correct
7:38 POV: You just put on your New Balances, cracked open a frigid Busch Light and are about to make a domination line to show the HOA you still have it
lol!!
When I flip a mower the ad I put out is almost verbatim to your intro 🙂

no problem and thank you!
for me i,d have a good go at it from doing the basics and diagnosing what the issues are before going to the next stage etc.

Good one, have you heard that Honda lawn mower division is stopping all its production and will not be making any more mowers ,what a up with that?
unfortunately I do believe its market strategy. Too many battery stuff coming in, and they would rather focus on everything else, they're working to. Don't forget, they are a very diverse company.
Also states like California have already banned the sale of small gasoline engines used for lawn maintenance.
that's a topic all in it's own.
It is the governor mine has the same problem when it starts up I have to play around with it
I think you have have carb issue
@@HomeGaragechannel thank you so much and I’m one of the self-propelled wheels doesn’t work either
sorry to hear that, the gear might be the issue
Why wouldn't you spray lube directly on the spring?
there's a chance for the lube to collect dirty, or the lube could become sticky and cause the spring to bind.
My carburetor flap stays open. I pulled it apart and cleaned it. Checked gas lines. It will ruin but bolt for about 1 to 2 minutes
Only for a minute
sure try starting the mower but with the fuel cap off, and see what happens.
Nice video seems to be a good technique blow to pile mulch no bagging!??
What’s the link to the video where I can rebuild the carburetor on this one?
Did I mention there was link? I don't recall having to go thru this carb.
I would try to fix my mower but I like working on things and fixing them
nice answer !
Love your videos. So for a regular home owner what are the best value for a new mower, as mine broke down and threw it out.
thanks Carlos, I would go with used high end equipment if possible. I would buy stihl echo or Husqvarna trimmers and blowers, and as for the mower, I would get a used honda.
What broke? Which brand? How old?
have the same mower bur rear drive, deck on mower wont stay up , replaced front axle clips on each side and still dont work right . Any suggestions?

no they will all eventually fall apart. actually I would consider changing your fuel, if possible
Hello, your videos are so helpful. Do you need a replacement cable for the machine?
No need
Did youtube change something on your channel? I used to be able to read transcripts.
I'm not sure, but I haven't changed anything on my part.
Where do you order oem parts for stihl and echo?
try Ereplacementparts dot com
I have a Husq with a honda motor. after about 30 minutes it dies and wont run again until it cools off Coil issue? how to fix?

I'd try replacing the spark plug then
@@HomeGaragechannel there is already a new plug and air filter as well as oil
then let's hope it works.

Depends on how much it cost to fix it. Sometimes it’s not worth spending a lot of money to fix something especially if it’s a old machine.
you got that right.
This mower looks like it sat outside in the weather. Maybe that's why the cables are not working as they should, and the carb had issues.
its definitely possible
Can you blow/lock an engine when tuning a carb? I think im a first
I'm sorry, I've never heard the term "blow/lock" an engine?
hydro lock or blow an engine? The thing is i was tuning a carb on a chainsaw and i died instantly and wouldn't crank. Also after it stopped it spat out like a few ml of fuel from the exhaust

@@Mastr-Tech chainsaw locked or blew up
oh, if you're talking about 2 stroke stuff, yes you can blow them up, or hydro lock them.
self propelled mowers are a waste of $$$ I have a Husqvarna that looks like this and it rolls so nice with those large rear wheels !
I can agree with that.
My Husqvarna started and ran fine I turned it off to put gas in it it won't start back and want to try this myself😅 God no I'm not I changed my mind. 😳
there's always batteries
Heads up Honda is leaving USA Market in 2023
you are correct
I seen that Why? Thanks
@@donvoll2580 California. EPA requirements are to strict....
Perhaps to force people to go Battery Source rather than fuel.
Ultrasonic cleaner = trouble free carburators
thanks for the tip
Don't forget to check the gas cap. These mowers have a internal vent and if it gets clogged it will keep the fuel from flowing.
you are correct
I would guess the biggest mistake be not using a clean gas can
actually it's more of an issue of leaving gasoline in the tank for a really long time.
