thanks for the info... but i have an issue of my pioneer vsx 523.. i connect my reciever to my tv using hdmi (arc) its work for sometime.. after 5 minutes, the TV input on my reciever is auto select DVD input.. i try to change it back to TV but it wont work.. it will go to select DVD input again and again.. can u help me to fix this..

Its dvd receiver. Setting is different. I think it needs manual reset. You need a professional.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I succeed to shut down the HDMI Red Light Blinking' but display do not light> If I shut down the receiver and start again the HDMI Red Light Blinking begins again. Please any idea?

me too. i need help, but i found a burned resistor on my board, maybe that is the problem. Also i can hear a click inside the pioneer when it switches back to hdmi blinking

Check for physical damage of parts

The click that you hear is the internal relay, which is triggered upon pressing the ON push button

Hi,i have a vsx920k and works only with 5 samsung 4 ohm speakers,when i connect 6/8 ohm speakers,works 20/30 minutes and shuts down randomly,any ideea what would be the problem?pioneer says this unit works with 6/16 ohm speakers.

This may have some relay or controller chip problem. Did you try hard reset?

I'm thinking this might later cause damage if the chip was engaging protect mode for a reason. Or was the protect chip defective?

Defective chip wouldnt work again. It was designed to protect the receiver from any harm that may happen when any wrong or faulty connections are there at the back. I showed the way to clear the chip. But if it happen again then first you gotta check the speaker connections at the back then other....
