  • Is it possible for an Evangelical Protestant to be a true Christian? We're always pointing the finger at other groups, but maybe we should examine ourselves!
The views expressed in this e-teaching are those of David Servant and not necessarily those of Heaven's Family, its employees, volunteers, trustees or financial supporters. As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, we should shun division over nonessentials. It's not enough to believe in Jesus and the Bible. A person's behavior is paramount.
The behavior of too many evangelicals leaves most people wondering if they could ever be Christian. Even small"c" christian.

It is with this gentleness that I wish to lead and guide and teach. I tend to be a bit hot wired. Womp

Davids Religion is Works Based Theology-Pentacostalism- This is why he condemns Evangelicals lumping all Protestant denominations together while praising Mormonism and Catholicism. It is natural that when man creates a religion it would involve some type of salvation by works. Because salvation by works appeals to man’s sinful nature, it forms the basis of almost every religion except for biblical Christianity. This is where the Pentacostal departs from being Protestant in theology. Proverbs 14:12 tells us that “there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” Salvation by works seems right to men, which is why it is the predominantly held viewpoint. Can you even be saved and focus so much attention on Works negating the very foundation of Jesus sacrifice and not being empowered by the spirit but rather focusing so much on rules, performance based belief.

Evangelicals are become so antinomian that this critique is justified

Contemporary Neo-evangelicalism sadly is quickly devolving into a hyper-grace therapeutic movement.

Holiness derives from growth for believers. All believers including David have committed sins of fornication and adultery and murder. It's a sin conceived in the mind and executed in the heart. So by David's definition he hasn't met the criteria for heaven. Unless he has never lusted after a married woman, been so angry hate another in his heart. David's life falls short. Please stop judging other believers.

David would be the first to accept that he has sinned in so many ways in thought, word & deed. He has confessed his sins to God. He knows that nobody can ever be perfect including himself but only Jesus. God knows the desire of our heart's that we want to follow him deep inside even if we often fail. I am sure God takes everything into account when judging us, our maturity, age, circumstances we are born into good or bad, just everything but are we on the right road that is narrow leading to eternal life even if we take many side turns of the road & come back. Yes, God loves us so much that He sent his only Son to die for us that we may have eternal life through Him. It is like the parable of the talents & what we do with what God has given us, we are not all going to be producing the same amount of fruit but there must be some signs of growth & some fruits of the Holy Spirit in our life ultimately in the end even if it is only small. I don't mean to be preaching at you & I am sorry if I come over in that way. It is just so hard to put it in words. I am sure you know already a lot of what I have said. I am far from perfect I can assure you. God Bless You richly 💟✝️

You cannot be saved and believe your works play a part in regeneration or justification. David you should take a hard look at your salvation. Titus 3-5, Ephesians 2-8,9
