    I think of Matthew 13:30...wheat and chaff growing together. I have no doubt that Christians can be found in every community, regardless of how weedy that community looks form the outside. And likewise, there are weeds in every community, regardless of how nice the field of wheat looks from the outside. While doctrine is important, it is not require for salvation.

    The Gospel Coalition | Justin Taylor The following is adapted from the section on Mormonism (or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) in the ESV Study Bible article on religious cults. The attempt is to be concise yet still accurate. I’ve added questions in bold to break it up a bit.What do Mormons believe about apostasy and restoration?Mormons claim that “total” apostasy overcame the church following apostolic times, and that the Mormon Church (founded in 1830) is the “restored church.”What’s the problem with this understanding?If the Mormon Church were truly a “restored church,” one would expect to find first-century historical evidence for Mormon doctrines like the plurality of gods and God the Father having once been a man. Such evidence is completely lacking. Besides, the Bible disallows a total apostasy of the church (e.g., Matt. 16:18; 28:20; Eph. 3:21; 4:11-16), warning instead of partial apostasy (1 Tim. 4:1).What do Mormons believe about God?Mormons claim that God the Father was once a man and that he then progressed to godhood (that is, he is a now-exalted, immortal man with a flesh-and-bone body).What does the Bible teach about the nature of God?Based on the Bible, God is not and has never been a man (Num. 23:19; Hos. 11:9). He is a spirit (John 4:24), and a spirit does not have flesh and bones (Luke 24:39). Furthermore, God is eternal (Ps. 90:2; 102:27; Isa. 57:15; 1 Tim. 1:17) and immutable (or unchangeable in his being and perfections; see Ps. 102:25-27; Mal. 3:6). He did not “progress” toward godhood, but has always been God.What do Mormons believe about the Trinity and polytheism?Mormons believe that the Trinity consists not of three persons in one God but rather of three distinct gods. According to Mormonism, there are potentially many thousands of gods besides these.What does the Bible teach about the Triune God?Trusting in or worshiping more than one god is explicitly condemned throughout the Bible (e.g., Ex. 20:3). There is only one true God (Deut. 4:35, 39; 6:4; Isa. 43:10; 44:6, 8; 45:18; 46:9; 1 Cor. 8:4; James 2:19), who exists eternally in three persons-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14).What do Mormons believe about human exaltation?Mormons believe that humans, like God the Father, can go through a process of exaltation to godhood.What does the Bible teach about humanity?The Bible teaches that the yearning to be godlike led to the fall of mankind (Gen. 3:4ff.). God does not look kindly on humans who pretend to attain to deity (Acts 12:21-23; contrast Acts 14:11-15). God desires humans to humbly recognize that they are his creatures (Gen. 2:7; 5:2; Ps. 95:6-7; 100:3). The state of the redeemed in eternity will be one of glorious immortality, but they will forever remain God’s creatures, adopted as his children (Rom. 8:14-30; 1 Cor. 15:42-57; Rev. 21:3-7). Believers will never become gods.What do Mormons believe about Jesus?Mormons believe that Jesus Christ was the firstborn spirit-child of the heavenly Father and a heavenly Mother. Jesus then progressed to deity in the spirit world. He was later physically conceived in Mary’s womb, as the literal “only begotten” Son of God the Father in the flesh (though many present-day Mormons remain somewhat vague as to how this occurred).What does the Bible teach about Jesus?
    Biblically, the description of Jesus as the “only begotten” refers to his being the Father’s unique, one-of-a-kind Son for all eternity, with the same divine nature as the Father (see note on John 1:14; cf. John 1:18; 3:16, 18; see also John 5:18; 10:30). Moreover, he is eternal deity (John 1:1; 8:58) and is immutable (Heb. 1:10-12; 13:8), meaning he did not progress to deity but has always been God. And Mary’s conception of Jesus in his humanity was through a miracle of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 1:20).What do Mormons believe about our eternal destiny?Mormons believe that most people will end up in one of three kingdoms of glory, depending on one’s level of faithfulness. Belief in Christ, or even in God, is not necessary to obtain immortality in one of these three kingdoms, and therefore only the most spiritually perverse will go to hell.What does the Bible teach about our eternal destiny ?The Bible teaches that people have just two possibilities for their eternal futures: the saved will enjoy eternal life with God in the new heavens and new earth (Phil. 3:20; Rev. 21:1-4; 22:1-5), while the unsaved will spend eternity in hell (Matt. 25:41, 46; Rev. 20:13-15).What do Mormons believe about sin and atonement?Mormons believe that Adam’s transgression was a noble act that made it possible for humans to become mortal, a necessary step on the path to exaltation to godhood. They think that Christ’s atonement secures immortality for virtually all people, whether they repent and believe or not.What does the Bible teach about sin and atonement?Biblically, there was nothing noble about Adam’s sin, which was not a stepping-stone to godhood but rather brought nothing but sin, misery, and death to mankind (Gen. 3:16-19; Rom. 5:12-14). Jesus atoned for the sins of all who would trust him for salvation (Isa. 53:6; John 1:29; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Pet. 2:24; 3:18; 1 John 2:2; 4:10).What do Mormons believe about salvation?Mormons believe that God gives to (virtually) everyone a general salvation to immortal life in one of the heavenly kingdoms, which is how they understand salvation by grace. Belief in Christ is necessary only to obtain passage to the highest, celestial kingdom-for which not only faith but participation in Mormon temple rituals and obedience to its “laws of the gospel” are also prerequisites.What does the Bible teach about salvation?Biblically, salvation by grace must be received through faith in Christ (John 3:15-16; 11:25; 12:46; Acts 16:31; Rom. 3:22-24; Eph. 2:8-9), and all true believers are promised eternal life in God’s presence (Matt. 5:3-8; John 14:1-3; Rev. 21:3-7).th-cam.com/video/5XPqaAhtxuEh/w-d-xo.htmlttps://www.youtube.com/watch?

      >> Mormon doctrines like the plurality of gods
      Let’s see what the Bible tells us ==>>
      John 17 [22] And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; **that they may be ONE, even as we are ONE**
      [23] I in them, and thou in me, that they may be **made perfect in ONE**
      Rev 3 [21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
      Rom 8 [17] And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also **glorified together.**
      This is not polytheism, but we become joint-heirs with Christ. The Bible teaches it, we believe it.

      The Bible teaches it and we believe it. We are Bible believing Christians.
      The Bible also teaches that faith with works is dead, and that dead faith cannot save anyone, that the demons confess Christ but tremble. (see the epistle of James)

      K Reese,
      Your references in the scriptures are awesome about Mormon belief. I am as a Mormon agree with you to some extent. Those are your point of views as non Mormon member. You are entitled to your own opinion.
      The concept of faith that man become god is not easily accepted. But we believe in Eternal Family, Eternal heavenly Father, our brother the only begotten son of God, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is both physical and spritual son of God unlike us who have mortal physical parent on earth, and Heavenly Father who is the father of our spirits.
      Like it is written in Hebrew 12 KJV
      Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
      During Jesus Christ ministry on earth the Jews disagree and throwing th stones to Jesus, let's
      read John 10 KJV
      31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
      32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
      33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
      34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
      35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
      So yes, we have the teaching as children of God, through the atonoment and to love him by keeping his commandments, we can be perfected in the next life to come as an eternal family in heaven.
      Before Jesus Christ died on the cross and was resurrected, he said in Matthew 5:48 KJV
      48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
      and after his resurrection he visited his other sheeps in America; It's written in the Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi 12:48
      Therefore I would that ye should be perfect even as I, or your Father who is in heaven is perfect.
      (notice "..as I,")
      Thank you for your time.
      May God bless you and your family. 😀🙏

    David, I am an LDS or people called us Mormons.
    Thank you for being an open minded God's servant. I wish other Christians will do the same, but I think it's impossible for now.
    I am now a subscriber to your video.
    One think I just want to clarify, that we believe Joseph Smith Jr. was not a reformer like Martin Luther or any other church founders in that respects . Joseph was a restorer, through him Jesus Christ once again has given his Grace, a gift of The Church of Jesus Christ in this dispensation like it is written in Matthew 21:43
    43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
    Again, through Grace of God like it is written in whole Ephesians chapter 2, but note in verses 19-20
    19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
    20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
    So whoever believe in him
    Will be saved as naturalized fellow citizen, as the saints of the household of God;
    The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.
    Like any citizens you have to and agree to obey the law of God
    37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
    38 This is the first and great commandment.
    39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
    40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
    If ye love me, keep my commandments.

      I am saying that we accept ALL the word of God, including the Bible and modern revelation. We know from latter day scriptures that Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and was called as a prophet in our day.
      I was pointing out that those who reject God's word can deny the calling of Paul and Joseph Smith with the very same clever argument. The very same angel of light appeared to both, and gave them the calling to preach the Gospel. The modern day Pharasees deny the calling of Joseph Smith even as the Pharasees of old rejected the calling of Paul.
      See the account of his calling
      I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me.
      17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other-This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him.

      Mac Notts,
      My comment here is nothing to do whether you agree or disagree with me, I just trying to clarify what "other gospel" referred to by Paul
      in Galatian 1
      I am sure you read up to verse 9
      so let's continue to next verses ;
      For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
      11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
      12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
      So Paul wrote that the other gospel is the gospel of man, not from the revelation from Jesus Christ.
      in The Book of Mormon it is written in 2 Nephi 25, also in Isaiah, in the Bible OT
      26 And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.

    Your definitive statement “Mormons are Christians” because of their faith in Jesus as God’s Son fails to fully understand the borrowed biblical language that is fundamentally different in meaning. They do believe Jesus is God’s Son. However, they also believe Satan is Jesus' brother and both are the offspring of God the Father through one if not two, depending on who you talk to, of his spiritual wives. Furthermore, Jesus became a man so he could attain Godhood. All the celestial siblings had a competition of who would be the Messiah. Satan and Jesus were the favored winners. Jesus won. His memory was wiped and he was placed within Mary's womb; he had no knowledge of his prior celestial existence. As he grew, Jesus began to learn and realize his supernatural ability. Ultimately, Jesus' death on the cross wasn’t for salvation but for him to be able to gain God-hood and join the judgment bench with God the Father (a person of flesh and blood), and The Holy Spirit (non-corporeal being with unknown origins).

      The Bible says that if you believe in Jesus as your savior, you'll be saved. It seems that many "Christians" are the ones "adding to" to Bible by imposing a belief in the creedal Trinity. It seems that such people have elevated the creeds over scripture. Who is "adding to" the Bible? BTW, many evangelical apologists have stated that the add to/take from warnings in Rev. refer only to rev. and NOT the whole Bible since the Bible wasn't even in existence when rev. was written.

    Sir, you missed SO MUCH about Mormonism that isn’t Christian. Maybe you just read a short bio on it. 1. They believe God is an exalted man and that they can become Gods themself one day. They believe we are all literal brothers and sisters of Christ AND Lucifer! 3. They believe they can proxy baptize a person who has passed & that person will have a second chance to become Mormon & get into one of the 3 levels of heaven they believe in. 4. They believe that Christ’s death on the cross only covers them partially & their works cover the rest. “For it is by grace you have been saved, after all you can do” 2 Nephi 23:25 vs “For by grace you have been saved, through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8 & 9. 5. All of their “sacred” temple activities that are the same or very close to what Masons do. (Now anyone can view these “activities” on the internet.
    I would encourage you to take this video down as it is a disservice to both Christians & Mormons. Watch videos by Jeff Durbin & James White. James White has also written several books on the subject.

    It is important not to automatically label people as Christian vs non-Christian solely on what they say about Jesus. Muslims believe in Jesus and will refer to the same Jesus as Christians refer to. Satan believes in Jesus and knows who he is and it is in reference to the same Jesus that Christians believe. Mormons have added to the scriptures because they have found fault with it and fail to recognize the true body headed by Jesus Christ. They believe that humans become gods. They believe that Jesus was a man who became a god, and you can too. Mormons also believe Jesus is a created being. Mormons believe in universalism or close to it. That's how satan works, he twists the scriptures with subtle deceptions for thousands of years. Again, Mormons believe that Jesus is the first born spirit son of God. Mormons believe in 3 distinct gods in the trinity and that there are many more. Mormonism is a cult with very little true Christianity in its dna.

      -- Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father (after the resurrection)
      -- The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
      -- John 7 [16] Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
      [17] If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
      Christ was resurrected with a physical body of flesh and bones.

      Gyser Hawk,
      Do you believe that Jesus Christ was once a man when he came to earth, to this world where we live now ? How did Jesus Christ come to earth? and how did you come to earth?
      If you don't see this, I am not surprised. The world don't recognize him.
      10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
      11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. John 1 KJV
      The Jews accused him blasphemy ;
      35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
      Further more after his resurrection,
      Jesus Christ received fullness of power from his Father in Heaven;
      17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
      18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Matthew 28 KJV

      I am in agreement with you. If Mormons believe these things then they cannot at all be called Christians. I also think David should have looked far deeper into what the Mormons believe. This is why they are always viewed as a cult.

    I had a hard time following what you were saying because you seem to stumble over your words. it really did not address why they get such a bad rap.
    My brother and his wife are Mormons and when you listen to some of the things that they believe it almost seems delusional.
    I am not going into what I know firsthand from talking with them, about what comes along with being a Mormon Christian .
    it would take up too much space and time on this comment page.

    Believe in Jesus, the message and words of God, follow Jesus. Trinity is. Confusion and unexplainable. Scripture has no teaching in it. Mormons, taking by those we meet, are Christian and live godly, of good fruit. For they strive to be like Christ, not the common Christian

    6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!
    10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
    Paul Called by God
    11 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. 12 I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

    It is also written in their books, not the book of Mormon, but one of the other books that Satan is Jesus brother. That there are sins that can not be covered by the Blood of Christ and they pray for the dead.
    Yes in every Christ based religion, there are people who truly love Jesus and serve Him, but that doesn't mean their beliefs are right when compared to the word of God.

    I was once a Mormon and I did not experience them as loving "the least of these". They tended to praise, honor, and glorify those who they saw as heros and winners, extroverted and well off financially. You have to scratch beneath the surface. There were also scammers among them, putting on an honest front.

      I think David needs to go deeper into what the Mormon religion is like & what they believe. It is not surprising to me that they or other people would treat David differently to us lower mortals to them as they can look up to him as a previous pastor, teacher, author & having set up Heaven's Family. We are not treated all the same in any church or anywhere. As he judges other Christian Denominations for their what they teach he should be doing the same to the Mormon religion which most of us view as a cult.

    Mormons are generally good people. I’ve had nothing but good relationships with Mormons.
    That being said, their historical and modern theology is awful. If being “a Christian” means believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and the atonement, then Mormons are not Christians. Joseph Smith’s created Jesus has very little resemblance to the Jesus of the Bible. Forget the differences in the trinity, though they are great, let’s focus on who Jesus is said to be. In the Bible, Jesus has always existed (John 1). EVERYTHING came into existence through Jesus.
    You don’t have to have perfect doctrine, but that piece is incredibly important. Now take that Biblical truth and compare it to Mormon theology. If you do that, you’ll come to the conclusion that just because you use the name Jesus, it doesn’t mean your talking about the same Jesus.

    No one can get to the Father except through Jesus!! It’s grace that is a free gift from God!! To have such a intimate relationship with Him and to dance, shout, talk to Him from your spirit and not your mind. To know that when confessing He is Lord meaning salvation of confessing He is Lord and believing in His resurrection!!! Rom 10:9
    I love to praise my heart out, get excited for God, be passionate because I was made to worship Him!! I was born to give Him glory!!! He took a bitter, selfish person, one that was not good, a girl people bullied, was afraid of, and no Mormons wanted me near them. Finally one day a loving Christian girl with a real intimate relationship with God talked to me and loved me, that drew me to Jesus and He washed me clean and made me brand new and then all of my failures were crucified with Christ and now I live in freedom!!! It is by Him that I can forgive and live like Jesus because I have Holy Spirit within and I can choose to follow Holy Spirit!!!
