  • I removed a bunch of stuff in the engine bay, prepped it and painted it with tough bbq enamel, painted some accent pieces, she turned out well.

    Based on the schematic I have and the wiring on my 1986 Samurai. The little sensor is the "Thermal Engine Room Switch". The bigger part on that same bracket should be "High Altitude Compensator". Both of which are only needed with the factory carb and ECM.

    • @FixLife119
      @FixLife119  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wow, thank you. I didn't know if anyone would be able to find that info. Good news to hear it's not necessary for mine as I don't have the stock carb. I think '87 was a transition year when fuel injection was in its infancy and they were experimenting before throttle body injection. Sounds like it's a thermostat for the engine bay, kinda weird. I wonder what that controlled. It prob fed the ecm but I wonder what the ecm controlled if it got really hot in there, or cold maybe. Could be more for cold to help the carb work in conjunction with the choke. Well thanks again, great information!

      Hey thanks, yeah it made a big difference in the overall appearance. Lots of work but it honestly wasn't as hard as I thought to spray around everything once things were loose and could be pulled up to shoot behind. The drivers side was really easy.

    The adjustable wrench is a Swedish invention, as am I.
    FYI
    It performs at its best when rounding bolt heads and nuts.
    It performs at its second best when used as an emergency tool.

    • @FixLife119
      @FixLife119  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ah yes, the thumb f_cking nut buster. I don't think your Swedish guy (Jahoansson?) got the credit for the adjustable wrench because over here we all call it a Crescent wrench, maybe someone stole the idea. I think it was originally designed with 2 moving jaws then simplified to just 1.

      Crescent wrench?
      That’s funny and accurate. Crescent means the shape of half a circle. 😂
      In Sweden the tool company Bacho (pronounced Backo) is the main manufacturer. However, Asian copies are very popular common.

    Temperature - Fahrenheit to Celsius conversion …
    Subtract 30 from the Fahrenheit number and divide the sum by two. The result isn’t exact but pretty close.
    Example:
    88F minus 30=58
    58/2=29C

    Your Jeep got two spark plugs per cylinder. Alfa Romeo has had that for decades. To my knowledge twin plugs is a gimmick that makes zero difference. Way more important is the quality and performance of the plugs. 16 Iridiums wasn’t cheap but will probably last longer than the engine / car /they are in. Congratulations to a good decision.

    Hi, just a suggestion...maybe making shorter video would be more beneficial for the channel. where on each video you talk about one topic..personally I jump from one segment to the next often during the video....30 or 40 minutes in my opinion is to long...10 to 15 would be perfect..like most video on youtube

    • @FixLife119
      @FixLife119  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah I've thought about this quite a bit. My mom is always saying they're too long. My fav auto TH-camrs (Sleeperdude, Vice Grip Garage, Flying Sparks Garage, NNKH, etc) are all usually over an hour and in their comments people often say the longer the better. So that's one side of it but the other side is human nature, people have a short attention span. That's why tiktok and youtube shorts do extremely well. I'm kinda torn in the middle, this series is on the tail end so I prob won't switch it up now but I definitely might on the next one. It would be alot easier for me to edit shorter videos. With my editing software once I get past 20 min it buffers so hard it takes much much longer to do the 2nd half than the first. Lots to consider but I think shorter would make more sense. Hey thanks for the comment!

    • @BorisEkner
      @BorisEkner 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I disagree to shorter videos. If a subject gets too much time in Adam’s videos I fast forward by double tapping at the right side if the screen on my phone.
      Adam’s videos aren’t TikTok or FB Reels and I appreciate that as the show more of all the work he puts in as well as more of his personality. I appreciate both and that makes his channel stand out from the crowd.
