Great video In my experience the LDF fluid should ideally be shaken up to form bubbles on the top then you wipe just the bubbles over the area that you are testing and you will find that will solve your problem.
Nice work. That hob was connected with a tap connector, shoddy work from somebody, don't think that's actually permitted for gas, even if it could be made to fit. Don't know the secret to the Vaillant drain-off, would be useful to know because draining down Vaillants is something you end up having to do a lot...
I’ve been trying to find a good course to help with my electrical fault finding. Been doing the gas for two years now and still mostly lost when it comes to wires.
How did you learn the actual practical side of working as a gas engineer? How long did it take you to be fully confident? Did you work under someone to learn or?
Yeah unfortunately you can’t get those ones from Screwfix. Not sure where to get them from. I’ll pin this and hopefully someone else will know and comment
Not really.. i know many lads who are gas engineers who don't know about plumbing.. but been a plumber is an advantage but if your just doing gas work then it's not really needed I don't think.. there are course just for doing your gas. But you will need a portfolio of work done with a gas engineer
@@brendanfisher2528 yeah right a gas engineer said he can take me on but he said I need to do plumbing first as the boiler is like 60% water, and he was saying he knows plenty of people that are doing just gas thet can't find work, and are just no good
If you’re talking about the injectors then I think it might be 6mm or 7mm. Can’t remember off the top of my head, I have a whole socket set so I just used the socket that fit
Is that a radiator boxed in with the kitchen units when you were showing the gas leak? Plus, you're studying electrics and test voltage with a volt screwdriver? Come on.
Rocol ldf mate red can yellow top never misses
I’ll pick some up tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation!
I use this stuff, even with a 1mbar drop you’d think someone was blowing bubbles.
Definitely Rocol I was going to comment this if it wasn't here, you can get a good spray action on it too
Another vote for Rocol great stuff
sorry to add you should know LDF can actually block leaks when testing
@17:00 use a approved volt stick/tester, not that death driver mate. some good jobs there tho.
It might be late. But u can use a condense pump hose on it. On the ecofit sustains and such. Don't drip as much
Appreciate the tip! I’ll give it a try
Hi pal, everything ok? No content of late?
Very nice video matey, hope your exam went OK 👍
Please come back

Ah i see. I’ll give it a try! A lot of people have been recommending Rocol LDF so I’m gonna give that a try
Please do share your experiences with learning the electricals.. Appreciate you’re efforts bro 👌🏼
I’m sure the red washers are only rated for water, can’t use them on gas
I use Rocol leak detector spray, works well for me
Ah I see, I’ll give it a try, thanks👍
Great vid mate 👍 invest in a nut spinner screwdriver with some blue tac inside the nut recess. Sticks lovely never lose one again 🤙
Excellent 🌺🌺👍👍👍👌
That was a cracking video. That flue was literally dust to dust 😂❤
Fantastic vids geez
Good video Mate,
Good verity of repairs
👍👍🤜
Thanks Tony! Really appreciate the comment 💪
Again really good content pal 👍🏻
Thanks Shaun!👊
Great video . Thanks 👌
I would find it interesting as a Gas Engineer your experience learning Electrics coming from Gas background yourself.
I’ll slowly start posting some electric stuff 💪
Great video thank you very much
More to come!💪
wondered ware you had gone great content as always 👍👊
Thanks Mike! Really appreciate your comments and support 👊

It’s crazy that people even try to do stuff like that. They can see it clearly doesn’t fit 🤷♂️
Good luck with your electrical studies you will find it really beneficial
Thank you! I’ve learnt so much from level 2 already. Excited to do my level 3
I’ve been trying to find a good course to help with my electrical fault finding. Been doing the gas for two years now and still mostly lost when it comes to wires.
Just wanted to ask:
If u can mention three good and bad things being a gas engineer please ?
For the trv don’t need to pull it up just keep tapping the pin with some wd40 and it will release
@@happybunny7490 I’ve done that before and it’s shot out 😂 that was a nightmare job
Your videos are excellent mate. Thanks for the content 💪🏻
Ah thank you! I really appreciate the comment 💪
Thanks for the video, I would never consider buying a swift now.
I have an Eldis motorhome with many of the same issue.
Quality video mate
Can someone explain why people keep changing synchron motors without checking the spindle
Roccol works for me! Do you paste the hob connector or gas ptfe? Good luck with the electrics
Usually I’ll use gas PFTE and a little bit of paste on top as well. Going to pick up rocol LDF tomorrow, everyone has been recommending it!
Great video mate what’s made you want you to go back to college and do electrics
In one of your video you explained how to take out a broken screw from gas meter. Can you send me link please
Why there's a radiator next to the hob under the worktop?! Or kitchen fitter didn't bother to remove it?!
How did you learn the actual practical side of working as a gas engineer? How long did it take you to be fully confident? Did you work under someone to learn or?
nice video!👍👍
Where do you get those spare test nipple screws? Screwfix doesn't seem to sell this particular type that goes onto U6.
Yeah unfortunately you can’t get those ones from Screwfix. Not sure where to get them from. I’ll pin this and hopefully someone else will know and comment
Wheres this guy gone ?
Thats an e6 up to 8 mb no smell
how do you get into gas engineering and boiler repair? do you need to do a plumbing apprenticeship?
Not really.. i know many lads who are gas engineers who don't know about plumbing.. but been a plumber is an advantage but if your just doing gas work then it's not really needed I don't think.. there are course just for doing your gas. But you will need a portfolio of work done with a gas engineer

Of course you need to know basic plumbing a heating system is full of water 😂
Why didn't you just change the syncon
Use rocal LDF is much better mate
If that flue was missing a clamp when you arrived that's a RIDDOR situation if ever there was one.
Quality mate 💪
Them drain offs on ecofit pure are awful! In my experience they always leak like that
Hi I paid for your boiler training, But I can't find a login button now. Can you help please
Email me and I’ll sort it out for you: contact@advancedboilertraining.co.uk
Never pull a pin on a trv ( from previous experience )….just tap the pin and it will pop up
Yeah I’ve had bad experiences from pulling the pin before 😅
Agreed just tap em
I only use the brush for test nipples i use the spray to find leaks
What size socket goes on the cooker hob?
If you’re talking about the injectors then I think it might be 6mm or 7mm. Can’t remember off the top of my head, I have a whole socket set so I just used the socket that fit
7mm
👍👊🏽
💪👊
Im like you mate, I have a gas sniffer, works for me.
Yeah I find it so much easier! It’s never let me down
Pushfit on gas shows my age
LDF Rocol
Great video.
Do you have an email address?
Id love to speak to you about sponsored video.
