Very cool lot/video! As I live in the UK, I always enjoy seeing your Canadian/US locos (I have very little knowledge of them!) so was a treat to see you open things I know a bit better. At 5:35 is a Triang Blue Pullman, very desirable models even now! What you have looks to be the dummy car as the wheels are all plastic. The power car has a motor on the front bogie with metal wheels (plastic on the rear), otherwise it looks the same as the dummy. You should be able to find a power car reasonably cheaply but the coaches are a different matter entirely. They tend to fetch pretty high prices. Well worth the spend though, they look fantastic running. Not bad going for a 60+ year old model. Just a heads up, some of those engines with the tenders that have the axles sticking through the plastic are triang models, they have thicker wheel flanges meaning that they may tend to derail on modern track. I could be wrong on that bc I believe they may have changed it up later on, but it is something to be wary of, and the green diesel shell isn’t compatible with the spare bogey you have
The shunter is a class 08 one of the shunters nick named a Gronk. Black locomotive 5112 is a Stanier "black 5" it is a tender drive locomotive. "OObill" on TH-cam does a lot of repairs on English locomotives going back to Triang toys. I've learned a lot watching his videos.
The green diesel shunter uses the same type of chassis as the small tank engine you've got there. As for the black 4-6-0 I believe those were tender driven for the most part, though a friend of mine did put a motor in the engine as it's got the room for it.

Hey Harrison. What interesting buys from England in HO scale. Wow 2 of those engines i was concerned. 🤣🤣I am sorry Harrison i didn't see the smoke come out of the High speed train i have a medium sized screen on my phone when i watch all my videos. I didn't expect that poor diesel smoke i could tell with your voice then the steam engine my goodness. 😳😵 The high speed train i am familiar with. LIMA came out with this in the 1980's & 1990's I saw it in the catalogs like you i wanted one for years please hope you csn fix it. Also Charlie at CHADWICKS MODEL RAILWAY had featured this in his collection. I was cheering when one of your steam engine took off on the layout then derailed .Maybe that should be in outtakes. 😄As for AIR FIX trains a rarity. I know this. I price so many of them where i work. They're mostly AIRPLANES , MILITARY TANKS, AIR PLANES BOATS & SHIPS, & model cars most kits come with some paints. AIR FIX is part of HORNBY they also make CORGI as well that steam engine & tender is a gem treasure it. Always my pleasure to watch looking forward to seeing future videos. 💡I had brainstorm : Why not in a series in parts we all can learn & enjoy that . Good purchases risky but i know you can rebuild & modify them even better. Harold A CN / BC RAIL/ CPRR fan as well.
Ebay: here's an auction lot of parts locomotives. Harrison: challenge accepted. Harrison a lot of those freewheeling steamers are built as that with the power unit in the tender. Had a fellow from across the pond in our model railroad club in the 80s that ran a lot of British stock and also a long time friend that ran a lot of Thomas stuff for the kids at shows. Still get a laugh about the time at a show where Gordon the bigger engine derailed and was shoved up the up the platform of a depot snuffing out several HO scale lives in the process while the tender and train continued on it's merry way oblivious to the scale carnage it left in it's wake
Your inter city 125 cam out in 1981 I remember it been my first ever train set The maroon loco is a class 52 western made by lima the blue none runner looks like a triang class 31 in br blue the wheels will ruin your points on modern oo gauge track .the little blue shell looks like a class 22 they was so bad most were withdrawn before steam actually finished and the larger blue shell looks like a class 42 nicked the warship can't really tell you much about your steam trains as I'm not really in to them but the little green body shell is a class 08 shunter and the blue and white train was known as the blue Pullman that is also triang hope this helps

Super. I received an SNCF electric locomotive and a four wheel tank car one year from my parents, more than forty years ago, and bless their hearts, but I still don't know what to do with that locomotive and tank car on an American themed diesel and steam locomotive powered model railway layout. I even built a Kadee knuckle coupler to Maerklin (Marklin) Relex/loop coupler conversion Train Miniature flat car so that I could operate them. (Before knuckle conversion couplers.) Hello again from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. 💙 T.E.N.
I have to say what an amazing haul and I'd be lying if I wasn't a bit jealous. I'm always on the lookout for Bitish stock this side of teh pond and have only to this date managed to acquire to locomotives, A Triang Flying Scotsman and a Triang M7. Here is what I believe everything is. 1:55 - Triang LMS "Princess", this engine is rather special in that it was the first mass produced plastic OO gauge steam locomotive in the UK. The chassis of the first run was much different but the body is more or less the same. 1:31 - Shell of a Triang BR Standard Class 3 Tank Engine. 2:32 2:51 - Mainline Class 42 "Warship". 3:15 - Triang Southern Railway N15 "King Arthur" Class. 3:51 - Lima BR Class 52 "Western" 4:34 - Airfix Great Western Railway 6000 "King Class". 5:20 - Shell of a Triang BR Class 08. 5:39 - Triang Blue Pullman DMU Dummy Car 6:00 - Hornby Ringfield motor bogie for a diesel. 6:09 - Tender for a Triang LNER B12. 6:19 - Triang GWR 57xx Pannier Tank Engine 6:44 - The top tender is a kitbash/ custom and the bottom is the tender for a Triang GWR 3031 Class, specifically "Lord of the Isles" No. 3046. 7:12 - Another Triang Princess. 7:31 - Another Triang Princess 7:52 - A custom model, of what I believe to be an NBR Atlantic, the tender from 6:44 goes with it. 8:14 - A Hornby LMS Black 5, this particular model is tender driven. 8:45 - The power bogie of a Triang diesel. 9:07 - Triang Class 9:35 - Hornby Intercity 125 11:31-You actually got pretty to matching the tender with their locomotives, The only one you got wrong is the Princess in teh 2nd row should have the BR Lined Black Tender (it says British Railways on the tender and has red and white lining).
Very cool. I have the complete set in the box of a Hornby Intercity 225 which includes the loco, dummy & two pass. cars. This train is white, blue and red if I remember correctly.
Very cool lot! I can give you some info on some of those locomotives: The great western Tank engine is a 57XX The Blue Great Western 4-6-0 is either a King or a Castle class The Southern 4-6-0 is an N15 The three 4-6-2s are all LMS Princess Class locomotives These are just rough guesses based on visual analysis, but I hope that helps you with identifying some of them!
Not only did (“Air-Fix”) make model trains, they also made model planes, model cars, and model boats as well as the ever popular and famous at one time visible V-8, as well as some of the finely 1/72 Military and Armor ! So far, what I’ve seen is all Hornby, Air-Fix, Lima, or Trix ! Most of original Märklín is 3 Rails like Lionel ! All OO/HO !! The advantages that you have are that (“American HO”) is 1/87 scale, while British- OO is 1/72 Scale ! Still close enough to work together ! Interesting fact; In 1940 Lionel also had OO GAUGE BUT @ 1/76 scale ! The corridor on the old original NCIS; Doc “Ducike” had a locomotive above his desk if you remember ever watching the show ??? 🌊🐺
The N B R 4.4.2 is a kit bild Scottish Locomotives the Black 5 Locomotives is tender Driver The Desil one is a class 29 Hornby and a class 31is Hornby the lema Locomotives is a class 52 the moter is for the class 29 hope this is a helpful to you all the best for Glasgow
I'm not sure what the truck you were trying to put in the shunter goes to. The correct wheels for the shunter look the same as an 0-6-0 steam engine. That's something that's always fascinated me about the smaller British diesels.
Highly recommend limiting these old Triang locos to 12 volts, their X.04 type motors aren’t designed for anything above that, I’d be more than happy to give repair advice if you don’t know much about these older Triang locomotives
hornby tri-ang are very simple, my uncle has a old 0-6-2 tri-ang. They are completely metal and very heavy. also you need to run tri-ang on tri tracks or you will short out the system.
Already have a few and with a bit of sanding they seem to run well on code 100 track. I do have a bit of Tri Ang track but I'm not sure if it's worth it.
I can't tell if you're joking. They use 230v over north America's 110v but their controllers step 230volts down to 15volts DC which is identical to what we use here.
I had one of those GWR pannier tanks, I sold it a few months ago. I paid next to nothing for it, and got it running great, but I just never used it much and I didn't have anything for it to pull. In the end I put it up for sale online (it had the original box and papers) expecting to receive an offer or two... and then shortly after listing, somebody bought it for the list price! I think I had it performing as good as it was ever going to get, reasonably smooth for the sort of drive it had, and as quiet as I could get it. Another reason I could justify parting with it was that while it could manage 18" radius curves, it didn't particularly like them and you could see it slow down a little while it squeezed through them. I hope it's new owner is having a lot of fun with it, and I hope you get yours running! It was very simple inside, very similar to the drives in Mantua steam locomotives but less smooth and quiet. Iirc mine had a 3 pole motor.
Still have my InterCity 125 that I got in 1980 before we left the UK. Mine had one dummy and one powered unit. It still worked in the late 80s. Haven't tried it since then but it is on a display I built with a Deltic and a Hymek.
Yay! I’ve been waiting to see some locomotives from across the pond! I can’t recall if you have some British locos already? Maybe a small 0-4-0 tank engine and a 4-6-0 tender engine with a huge nut in it?
The lima marron western with the broken motormount/chassis plate. I recently designed and 3d printed a replacement chassis part. Involves grafting the replacement to the original but easy job for you. And cheaper than sourcing a complete chassis. Happy to send you the file or even a print if needed.
Mega lot of British locomotives. My mega lot of american locomotives, N scale. DC & DCC with sound. Atlas. Bachmann. Life Like. Kato. Scale Trains. Fox Valley Models. Walthers.
Get hold of SAM TRAINS he will help you he does same thing as you do, fix's trains . that was a fragile box that should been name of that box. now you got to open more boxes , that weird box. We open a DUMASS BOX some even took that box even out of garbage can at the club.
It's been my experience with these British OO gauge locomotives that the flanges need to be filed down in order to prevent derailments on typical North American HO track.
3:44 is a Western Class and was used on the western region of Britain running express passenger services from London down into Devon and Cornwall, I agree and I think they are amazing locos. They sound brilliant as well!!!
That "spare" two-axle bogie with the gears missing appears to be a spare from an IC125, as it has no coupling hook and has the cylindrical bits the same as the two IC125 cars. At a guess, a previous owner was trying to modify a front draw hook for one of those power cars, as they've cut into the lower nose. This was used whenever a set suffered a failure, as it allowed another locomotive to attach and 'drag' the IC125.
Harrison: hope this helps.

The green diesel shunter uses the same type of chassis as the small tank engine you've got there. As for the black 4-6-0 I believe those were tender driven for the most part, though a friend of mine did put a motor in the engine as it's got the room for it.
The green and brown tender that has the words Great western belongs to a Hornby Dean single a 4-2-2 tender locomotive
Nice video!
Hi smt
Hi
I think I can help identify those engines' classes for you (not counting the tenders)
Loco #1: LMS 3MT 2-6-2T
Loco #2: LMS princess royal class
Loco #3: BR class 29
Loco #4: BR class 42 (aka, warship class)
Loco #5: southern railway king Arthur class
Loco #6: BR class 52
Loco #7: GWR castle class
Loco #8: BR class 08 (kinda ironic)
Loco #9: blue Pullman DMU
Loco #10: GWR 5700 class pannier tank
Loco #11: LMS princess royal class
Loco #12: LMS princess royal class
Loco #13: NBR class H
Loco #14: LMS Stanier class 5
Loco #15: BR class 31
Loco #16: BR class 43 HST
Loco #17: BR class 43 HST
Hope this helped
Nice lot of locomotives! I joined the platform mid summer and your videos are a joy to watch when you post!

I think you got fleeced, some are decades old and the re-painted engines look awful.. .. . ask for a refund.
They're all junked but the seller was clear about that. I'm sure a few will run well once cleaned and oiled.
Gose you got a very good hall I would die to have some of those locos
Gosh not gose lol
I love watching your videos
It would be great to see some Viewer mail there Harrison!!
Yes it would be nice to see more.
That diesel shunter shell is a class 08
the tank loco is a 4-6-2 prairie loco the green shunter shell is an o-6-0
Nice haul the intercity 125 is a nice locomotive
The ner 2-4-2 is worth a decent bit
WOW . well heres one thing i looked up that shell in beginning is a Prairie loco that is by Hornby. then there is the Tri-ang Hornby OO R053 “Princess Victoria” 4-6-2 loco Y298 the other ones that are 4-6-2 locos id say are
Tri-ang as well. sams trains even a older youtuber who been gone for a long time Johns amazing trains would love seeing these. something outside of the box for what i would model but still very cool.
For that British Rails Class 08, I think Sam's Trains might have some parts for it.
Harold
A CN / BC RAIL/ CPRR fan as well.
Your channel always makes my day
Thank you!
Hey we missed ya at the rail fanning in SmithFalls. Great unboxing keep it going 🇨🇦🚂🥓
I think I missed the memo on that one
Great Haul with your magic they will run good someday:)
I hope so
Most of them are all triang and imma guess some early Lima locos that look absolutely amazing
Thanks for the help mate btw have you ever been to all of the train shows in the UK.
Your inter city 125 cam out in 1981 I remember it been my first ever train set
The maroon loco is a class 52 western made by lima the blue none runner looks like a triang class 31 in br blue the wheels will ruin your points on modern oo gauge track .the little blue shell looks like a class 22 they was so bad most were withdrawn before steam actually finished and the larger blue shell looks like a class 42 nicked the warship can't really tell you much about your steam trains as I'm not really in to them but the little green body shell is a class 08 shunter and the blue and white train was known as the blue Pullman that is also triang hope this helps
I just but of Amazon a new train set a honrby. Trains of The Beatles brand new Sam it want it want it looks I loaded my video up on you tube it is a very big set 😇
Sam's train here on youtube might be able to help you figure out everything as he specializes in hornby 00 scale British locomotives since he lives in the U.K.
I'm sure he'd know what these are
Nice video
I think American engine should have more unique colors
I can believe there was a pannier and a black five in that lot
Very interesting lot. British rail is quite interesting.
Very cool lot of British Rail Locomotives!!!
Cool 🇬🇧lot Harrison. My Hornby Dominion of Canada is tender driven with a funky spring loaded power transfer coupler. If you need help with parts&knowledge on British stuff, Broughdale Hobby in London Ontario. Guy from England.🚂🇨🇦🇬🇧
That's good to know. With the exception of the Tri-ang and Lima locos, these are very unusual to me.
Awesome mega lot 🚂👍🚅
4:31 I love that one that one looks like Gordon from Thomas
as far as the orange Atlantic and its tender go, they appear to be custom built, specifically from a kit.
You should get an e2 that's Thomas in real life
I was your video during school today
2:32
2:51 - Mainline Class 42 "Warship".
3:15 - Triang Southern Railway N15 "King Arthur" Class.
3:51 - Lima BR Class 52 "Western"
4:34 - Airfix Great Western Railway 6000 "King Class".
5:20 - Shell of a Triang BR Class 08.
5:39 - Triang Blue Pullman DMU Dummy Car
6:00 - Hornby Ringfield motor bogie for a diesel.
6:09 - Tender for a Triang LNER B12.
6:19 - Triang GWR 57xx Pannier Tank Engine
6:44 - The top tender is a kitbash/ custom and the bottom is the tender for a Triang GWR 3031 Class, specifically "Lord of the Isles" No. 3046.
7:12 - Another Triang Princess.
7:31 - Another Triang Princess
7:52 - A custom model, of what I believe to be an NBR Atlantic, the tender from 6:44 goes with it.
8:14 - A Hornby LMS Black 5, this particular model is tender driven.
8:45 - The power bogie of a Triang diesel.
9:07 - Triang Class
9:35 - Hornby Intercity 125
11:31-You actually got pretty to matching the tender with their locomotives, The only one you got wrong is the Princess in teh 2nd row should have the BR Lined Black Tender (it says British Railways on the tender and has red and white lining).
2:32 - Hornby Class 29
4:34 - Airfix Castle class
9:07 - Triang Class 31
edit I don't know how I made such a noob mistake but 4:34 is a GWR 4073 Castle Class not a King Class.
Thank you so much for this list!
Runners right out of the gate. I enjoyed the video!
Nice buy. Great video
Hey smt I was wondering where I can send some trains
Wow! I just saw the thumbnail and I know this’ll be great!
Haha, thanks!
You got some plastic airfix tat but the other bits are ok, you could do with getting a class 31 by airfix, 5 pole motor lovely looking, good molding
The airfix model looks beautiful bit the drive looks like junk. I kinda think it's for display at this point.
What you could do is try to find the matching engines for the remaining tenders
I'm sure they're around somewhere
English viewers: This guy doesn’t run trains from England.
SMT: Hold my soldering iron.
It's time to change that :)
Your Videos are so much fun to watch and you present them brilliantly. Thank you and hello from Nottingham England. Loved this video.
Thank you!
Very cool. I have the complete set in the box of a Hornby Intercity 225 which includes the loco, dummy & two pass. cars. This train is white, blue and red if I remember correctly.
Very cool lot! I can give you some info on some of those locomotives:
The great western Tank engine is a 57XX
The Blue Great Western 4-6-0 is either a King or a Castle class
The Southern 4-6-0 is an N15
The three 4-6-2s are all LMS Princess Class locomotives
These are just rough guesses based on visual analysis, but I hope that helps you with identifying some of them!
only wrong guess there from what i can tell is the br blue 4-6-0, it's actually a castle
The Blue 4-6-0 is a Castle, you can tell by the lack of external bearings and springs on the front pony truck.
Thanks for clarifying!
The advantages that you have are that (“American HO”) is 1/87 scale, while British-
OO is 1/72 Scale ! Still close enough to work together ! Interesting fact;
In 1940 Lionel also had OO
GAUGE BUT @ 1/76 scale !
The corridor on the old original NCIS; Doc “Ducike” had a locomotive above his desk if you remember ever watching the show ??? 🌊🐺
I have lots of hornby trains as well.
5:18 it’s a class 08 shell
The N B R 4.4.2 is a kit bild Scottish Locomotives the Black 5 Locomotives is tender Driver The Desil one is a class 29 Hornby and a class 31is Hornby the lema Locomotives is a class 52 the moter is for the class 29 hope this is a helpful to you all the best for Glasgow
Harrison it looks like you have a GWR City of Truro loco tender in the spare tender lot
Yes it could be a box of Tenders but which locomotives tenders.
7:47 Did anyone nows the Brand? Its 100% a kit, i have a similar one
I wish I knew.
Can you please send me the southern railway 4-6-0
Oh and the tenders plz
I'm not sure what the truck you were trying to put in the shunter goes to. The correct wheels for the shunter look the same as an 0-6-0 steam engine. That's something that's always fascinated me about the smaller British diesels.
Highly recommend limiting these old Triang locos to 12 volts, their X.04 type motors aren’t designed for anything above that, I’d be more than happy to give repair advice if you don’t know much about these older Triang locomotives
Harrison after looking it up that spare Great Western tender is indeed either a Triang or Hornby City of Truro
It looks like a lord of the isles tender though.
hornby tri-ang are very simple, my uncle has a old 0-6-2 tri-ang. They are completely metal and very heavy. also you need to run tri-ang on tri tracks or you will short out the system.
Well I say that at least 90-100% of hornby's tri-angs are mostly if not all steal
Already have a few and with a bit of sanding they seem to run well on code 100 track. I do have a bit of Tri Ang track but I'm not sure if it's worth it.
just saying there most probably used to running on 230 volts as the UK mains are 230 volts 🤣
I can't tell if you're joking. They use 230v over north America's 110v but their controllers step 230volts down to 15volts DC which is identical to what we use here.
surprising i am not joking because i have a video of my playing with my trains th-cam.com/video/Q4zrsBzZ60M/w-d-xo.html @@SMTMainline
Some of these models didn't run perfectly even when they left the factory so even decent performance is good.
Still have my InterCity 125 that I got in 1980 before we left the UK. Mine had one dummy and one powered unit. It still worked in the late 80s. Haven't tried it since then but it is on a display I built with a Deltic and a Hymek.
16:28 that’s a British Intercity 125 and its top speed is 125 MPH
Yay! I’ve been waiting to see some locomotives from across the pond! I can’t recall if you have some British locos already? Maybe a small 0-4-0 tank engine and a 4-6-0 tender engine with a huge nut in it?
Cheers SMT for the unboxing and the peeps that commented to uncover the origins and details of the items of course.
The lima marron western with the broken motormount/chassis plate. I recently designed and 3d printed a replacement chassis part. Involves grafting the replacement to the original but easy job for you. And cheaper than sourcing a complete chassis. Happy to send you the file or even a print if needed.
Would you be willing to sell some
No thanks
With all the tenders you have gotten, you could do a remake of Six Lovely Tenders, a T&F horror story.
04:32
Nice. The chassisless shunter shell numbered D3010 is an 08 or 09 class
It's nice engines. The bogie presented at 18:45, wouldn't that be a replacement part for the IC125? It looks right there.
I learned to love a lot of British trains after rewatching through the Thomas series a few years ago. You should check out Everard Junction.
I have 1 british locomotive and that's the smokey joe I love that engine and it's great to see this many locomotives that are british
Nice lot of British engines, Harrison. I was really hoping one of them would have been a Mallard though. Maybe next time.
