    Thanks for educating the owner on the brakes. As a retired heavy equipment mechanic and now a part time coach and semi driver I have noticed many don’t know what they don’t know. It’s nice to see owners educated and taught to respect air brakes.

      I spent 4 tours in Iraq, After all my missions, the morning time and have breakfast to face a new day was the only normality I can remember. The wafting smog of Diesel among the dew, the silence of the earth, the distant rumble of lifters chimes providing power to our distant place of solitude. To this day the smell of Diesel warms my thoughts. "There's nothing like the smell of Diesel in the morning" I still say this every time I pass a running generator or Detroit.

      @@tageuhl6422 ... I don't think the tag axle is dual wheels, tags are usually just single wheels, the duals ahead do the driving. True tag axles on buses can be lifted when in tight situations or running empty. I might be mistaken, but I watched as the Scenicruiser began the descent from the top of the hill, and I'm fairly certain that it's not duallies on the very back. Hard to be sure because can't get higher than 720p resolution for whatever reason....

    • @tageuhl6422
      @tageuhl6422 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stan Patterson the one you are referring to does not. In the early video the owner explains his choice to only run singles, saving money on tires.
      He and Scott do a short history of the Cruiser in that video besides. The only point I didn’t hear was that though the luggage bays were purposely larger to accommodate freight, part of the fleet also had a door up top at the right rear and the back seats were removed to accommodate even more freight.
      Every PD-4501 Scenic Cruiser was built with doubles tires on the tag axle though.

    To measure the grade of your hill. Mark your level at the 12 inch mark from the end of the level. Then place the end of level on the high side of hill and level off the bubble. Then measure the distance from the ground to the bottom of the level at the 12 inch mark. That would be the percentage of the grade of your hill. I'm going to say between 6-7 % grade. Let me know what it is.
