I'm from the Caribbean too :) and I totally agree. As a mixed person I can say that there's quite a bit of tension between Afro and Indo-Caribbean communities that no one really seems to acknowledge. In terms of the black population in relation to the Indian population, I'd definitely say that's it's a half-idolization and half-resentment sort of situation, both due to internalized anti-blackness. It's weird, we've integrated into the general culture due to our history and other similarities, but we also haven't? I feel like we're still 'othered', in a way
@@neptune2433 what idolization? Lmfao the resentment is there from both sides but there’s definitely no idolization. I’d argue in the west at least indo Trinidadians and Guyanese have their own form of internalized racism that causes them to identify as blk/idolize blk people
@@uncletheoneshotkid3001 Oh, I'm speaking from the perspective of a Jamaican. In Guyana and Trinidad the Indian population is significantly larger so that might not be there. I've been bought food, gifts, and have had people attempt to befriend me because I'm mixed. It might sound unbelievable but it's my experience. So because, depending on where they're from, some afro-caribbean people may go years without ever having contact with indo-caribbean populations, there is some form of excessive admiration, due to stereotypes coming from colonialism, that any non-black/light-skinned person is richer, or well-off compared to their darker-skinned counterparts. Trinidad and Guyana are not the only Caribbean countries with Indian populations and our experiences can be quite different at times, so if something I say doesn't sound accurate to you, it's because I'm coming from that perspective. I first learned the term "ABCD" as a young kid growing up in America in the 2000s. It's been around for a long time, and I think it originally stood for "American-born Confused Desi". No idea who came up with it but I remember hearing it a lot back then. Btw kind of curious, kya aapko Hindi aati hai? Maine Bollywood filme dekhne se sikhi, aur 6-7 saal pehle maine apne aap ko Devanagari lipi bhi sikhayi, jisme Hindi bhasha likhi jaati hai. Kya aapko kisi dusri bhartiy bhashae aati hai bhi? If you understand all of that then good job. It might be fun to make a video where you take the Duolingo Hindi course and rate it out of 10, although I know that would probably take a while. I tried it myself years ago and I remember it was kind of weird. And I hear it's pretty bad honestly lol
Yh I understood all of that. A large majority of my Hindi knowledge comes from Bollywood films as well and Yh I speak the native language of where my parents are from. I wouldn’t be able to type that up though so fair play. I think the problem with Duolingo is they don’t spend enough time developing their language courses so you really can’t learn anything that complex. Also that app literally has Game Of Thrones languages on there but not more niche languages spoken by millions in India like Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil etc. which I think is pretty stupid
@TheBrownExperience Yeah DuoLingo is pretty weird. I did type all that out myself but I think I made at least one grammatical error. I'm a bit of a perfectionist as a lot of us tend to be lol. These days I actually listen to podcasts in Hindi more than Bollywood, because I find that Bollywood dialog is often sort of artificial sounding for a lot of different reasons. Some people say that most dialog nowadays is written first in English and then later translated into Hindi, which idk if that's true but it would make a lot of sense. Podcasts tend to have more natural language because it's usually just off-the-cuff, not written or rehearsed in advance.
@TheBrownExperience There's one called "The Ranveer Show" which I think is pretty good and easy to understand. They did an episode where they talked to the "Grand Imam" of in India which I thought was pretty cool. I can't think of any others off the top of my head but if I find I will let you know. There's another one I listen to sometimes called "The Pakistan Experience" which is in Urdu so it's not quite the same as Hindi but it is extremely similar to the point where you could easily understand most of it as well if you know Hindi. And yeah Bollywood is usually more eye-catching and engaging visually and they have whole narratives which probably makes it better for people who have very low-level Hindi or who don't know the language at all. I think podcasts are often better for higher-level/more advanced learners especially because they often discuss things you don't necessarily see on TV.

how is this the biggest?
It’s the biggest Desi subreddit
but its not the biggest indian subreddit tho....you could've written desi in the title itself....shouldnt the biggest indian subreddit be r/india?
@ you have to put Indian in the title bro. TH-cam game is the TH-cam game 🤷🏽♂️
Bhaiya aap nri ho kya

Haven't watched it yet but I'm guessing it's r/ABCDs
👀🎯
Dude genuinely no hate but please make better videos
@@TheBest-mu4pc how can I make them better bro?
@TheBrownExperience your last few videos look like you're trying to chase views by hating on famous people in the thumbnail. It just seems cringe. Also your editing is great but you should select better memes and content than this video. The voice seems a little ai type. Also mainstream your content just a little. Your channel seemed like one I would binge for hours but there's just something missing and since you seem like a good person I just thought I'd explain this to you as you're a small creator and should be more popular
@@TheBest-mu4pc thank you for giving me genuine feedback bro it means a lot 🙏🏽 and tbh with the thumbnails I actually get a friend to make them for me but Yh I do have creative control over them. Tbh I’m just trying to see what sticks in terms of thumbnails and Yh I am trying to get views no denying that but it’s because I want people to watch the videos and this seems like the only way. In terms of this video, I actually had a different video idea but it didn’t work out unfortunately so this is one that I just wacked out in a few hours. It is my actual voice btw so it’s funny you think it’s AI lol. Sometimes I record in the morning so that might be why. But Yh imma take your feedback on for sure and appreciate you for tuning in 🙏🏽
@@TheBrownExperience glad to see you appreciating feedback. Hoping that you become a big youtuber cuz you genuinely have good talent. Subscriber for life
His videos are fine in my opinion
Most of Reddit is pretty left leaning and that alone it makes it cring af
Nobody use word desi
honestly I have started to hate that word since it groups us with pakistanis and bangladeshis
bro the video was good and keep trying new ideas like this ♥ ♥
does the biggest dayz subreddit represent the dayz community
You got me 🤣🤣🤣
