7:23 it’s not an Indian movie song, it’s just an anthem song for South Indians and their movies on Netflix. All of those different artists represent different cultures in South India, even though hanumankind and NJ both represented Kerala and mallus.
It is funny that people say he looks like Freddy Mercury, because Freddy Mercury himself was also Desi/Indian. Oh, and if you didn't know that, it's 100% true. His family was originally from the state of Gujarat in India before they emigrated to Zanzibar (where he was born), and then again to the UK. Not only that, but they were Parsis, AKA Zoroastrians, which is a religious/cultural minority in India. Not a lot of people seem to know this but it is completely true--look it up if you're curious.
Already not a one hit wonder if anyone is listening to Go To Sleep, Skyline, Rush Hour. A big hit like Big Dawgs though, I think he can pull it off for sure. He will have a song coming out with project Pat, and bigger labels than Def Jam India will want to sign him.
We can't deny that this dude's success is largely because the song sounds "American", and honestly I think he is treading dangerously close to "blaccent" territory, but that's a wholly different conversation lol, but I would be so interested to hear a song that shows off some Indian influence, like a South Indian type beat, or maybe even a verse in Malayalam, that would be so damn fire. However, I wonder if that would carry the same success in the West as Big Dawgs 👀👀
Yh that’s true. I doubt if he came with some Hindi or Malayalam it would blow up the same way unless he finds a way to mix it in with rapping in English. Also the “blaccent” thing sounds interesting. Need to see if there’s a video essay on that somewhere. I mean he did basically steal Project Pats flow for the whole song lmao
@@Kferns08collaborated with Yashraj as well, with his "Ladke convict" group. And certainly that's not "blaccent", rather Texan accent. So the Texas area now belongs to African Americans slowly? So are they owning it somehow?
Love the video!!! Hanumankind will surely be on my playlist, even tho I don't listen to rap music that much 😅. Btw there is some beef goin on between Ariana Grande fans & Sherya Goshal's fan 😭😭 didn't expect that to see it in 2024 😂😂
Video idea: Since the game 'Black myth: Wukong' has been gaining immense popularity, it would be great to see videos around Hanuman and comparing him to wukong. I agree that this will be quite a difficult video to properly make though.
HOPE YOU HIT 1K SUBSCRIBERS SOON!!! I constantly feel 'not asian enough' and inferior than other asians/races, and your vids have actually made me feel a bit better about my race and skin!! literally the only other positive representation of south asia I've seen is in Genshin from the forest side of Sumeru, though my culture has some from desert side too (my pfp the goddess of Sumeru if you didn't know!!). Literally the ONLY representation that makes me feel better about my ethnicity. You're doing a lot 🙏 thank you!!
@@MoonLightOfficialOwO Wow thank you! That means a lot to me. Hopefully we hit 1K soon maybe even today. This channel is all about embracing and reconnecting with culture so I’m glad you feel that way

@@TheBrownExperience Exactly!!! I personally believe Sumeru helped with that back in 2023 (its representation is not perfect, but there's ingame biryani and samosas so I'm sold), but I think the world is finally seeing we're human too! I've seen people call out jokes that are played against us usually... Honestly, I've been so desensitized and normalized to those jokes that I just viewed them as normal. But when you say them to another race, you realise how gross they are (and the amount of backlash you'll get)... It's 'Stop Asian Hate' until it's non-East Asians (sometimes including Southeast if the world feels kind).. I could go on for hours on how Sumeru helped me lmao

His success was also cz of the crazy videography and stunts which are all Indian
He has collabed with other artists on songs that have South Indian influence. Ayyayo and Namma Stories comes to mind. 😊
