    To be a Christian you have to have faith. This song represents the struggle that so many of us go through. Yes I left the church for about 25 years but about 6 years I realized I wanted God in my life and I had to change my life. It is not easy I had to start having self control and fight depression and dark things that can be so tempting. But faith and love of God and wanting to be with Him for eternity makes it all worthwhile. I found you because of Tom McDonald I’m staying with you because I love these videos and your insight. I pull out my Bible and read the verses you talk about I end up, reading the whole chapter and more, thank you.

    Pastor James. Or anyone with a useful knowledge.
    How do i choose Christianity over being Muslim? I want to believe, however I only see Muslims not bending their beliefs or mocking the prophet?
    How can I follow a religion that can’t even keep its own beliefs out of the church?

    I used to be like this, that the song is talking about. Something happened when I was in middle school that sparked a downward spiral of depression and anxiety in me, it was like the color was disappearing from my vision, and this was after I became a confirmed Catholic. I just recently made the effort to seek God all on my own and through him, I am learning how to fully love myself, because I must if I am to fully love others. I'm seeing now that it isn't all about me, it's about those who love me, and those around me in regular day to day life that I may have a positive effect on. God is restoring that color to my eyes because I chose to meet him halfway. This may sound corny, but I'm at the point where I get so teary eyed after just reading a page in the Bible. It just hits me so hard because I feel loved and understood, and that's all I ever really wanted.

      The New and Old Testaments of the modern bible, are actually quite beautiful in the literary value alone. The King James version is like Shakespeare.
      The only concern I have for myself is to beware blindness towards reality, in favor of a faith that does not pragmatically work well.
      Faith and belief are two different concepts.
      I have faith that humanity can be better.
      I do not believe we will be though.
      My faith guides my actions and thoughts. My beliefs are sus.

    • @py_a_thon
      @py_a_thon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is an idea from I know not where, that vaguely translates to something like: "The only true free will we possess is the choice between good and evil."
      I like that resolution of an existential crisis. There is beauty in that concept.
      If you know where that concept originates, please enlighten me.

    • @Fxrrxt2x
      @Fxrrxt2x ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@py_a_thon I agree completely about what you say about faith and belief. The thing with me is that I do not wish to focus on the bad aspects of humanity. I do believe we will always have our struggles and there will always be bad and evil in the world, but I also believe evil must exist so that we may truly know what good even is, sort of what you see other cultures believe like 'yin and yang' or 'karma', 'balance'. I have faith now in God because I have seen and felt the positivity he has had on my life and those as well that are faithful. I believe love makes life worth living. Sorry, I'm on a phone or else I would do paragraphs 😅

    "Maybe it's you who actually fear me!" Dax knows that God does not fear anyone. Like you said near at the beginning of the video he is expressing how he feels, and it's obvious he's tired (as he mentioned in the beginning of his music video) . In that moment of expression some or most words that we say we don't mean it all because we're at the breaking point. Listen is important, and I believe the bible have mentioned about listening.

    If you're a Christian and you don't feel the way Dax is talking about than you're a liar, if everything was easy and answered for us than there would be no need for faith. Faith in itself is an incredibly difficult thing to truly have, to be able to be hurt by someone and turn the other cheek,to be able to go through trials and tribulations and not give up is so hard. It took me so long to get to where I am,so much pain, so many surgeries, my entire childhood was spent in the hospital. I've undergone 3 different kidney transplants and a liver transplant along with 10 years on dialysis. There were days where I would scream at God, I would scream until my voice was gone, screaming "WHY ME?" Why did I have to be born with this disease, why did I have to deal with bullying all my life because kids are cruel, why do I have to be 35 years old right now and alone. My fiance left me in 2016 at my worst point when I was on deaths door waiting for my transplant, ive been alone since and I'm probably going to die alone, my body is so broke, my heart is so broken from all this, I'm in constant pain every day of my life and I try everything to not complain, to keep a smile on my face even though underneath there's a war waging that I can't control. I love God with my entire heart and soul and I don't ask for alot...but the only thing I want is to love again. I don't care about money, or material possessions, all I want is someone to love me the way I love them, I'm so tired of being alone every day. Even though every day is a struggle to not put a gun in my mouth. I never would've guessed my life would end up like this... I honestly believe that I'm too broken for any sane girl to ever want to be with me, I think I need to just accept that it's over and I'll never have the one thing my heart and soul need.

    Here is how i see it...i believe there is a higher power but i refuse to name it. I believe its more important whats in your heart than the name you call your higher power. Thats why im spiritual not religious. Every religion is based on the same concepts, with different names. Plus why would "God" want the first murder was brother on brother and who did Abel marry again? Where did she come from? If God is a forgiving and loving why do we fear him? And why would my pastor not hellp me when i went to him when my first ex husband almost killed me just told me if i got divorced i would go to hell....i never went back because i was already in hell. Plus free will sats a lot 😊

    Thomas couldn’t believe until he felt Jesus’s wounds. So I can’t fault that verse. Faith is, as I understand, like a mustard seed - tiny but capable of immense growth.
    Now, I do believe that we can feel God’s presence and even hear Him if we listen. Unfortunately, there is a lot of bad in churches and church leaders, members and so on. Yet, I won’t be dismayed by men (or women).
    I think Dax was going through many struggles of typical people. But in the end he said he will still believe. Amen.
    I really liked your take on this song, your interpretation and guidance. Thank You.

    "Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven" (apologies for the lack of red text)
    If anyone reading this is a parent, you've had your children ask you a question, regardless of the gravity of the question, whatever answer you gave them they believed to be the absolute truth. Because they have faith that their parents wouldn't mislead them. We need to take in the word of God, as a child takes in information their parents feed them. Believe like children.

    I've battled with these thoughts for as long as I was old enough to start thinking them and I heard a quote in my teens, something like " Faith is to believe in something without hard proof or evidence and I don't do that because i'm not an idiot" but as I have gone through my twenties and nearing my 30's next year I have somewhat battled with the idea of there being a god and have experienced and witnessed somethings that lead me to believe there is a creator.....I don't pretend to know or even understand what that could look like but I will never follow a religion of any sorts because of how dark and disgusting they can be nor will I let anyone dictate to me how I choose to believe, how I act and what I choose to do with my life because that conversation is between me and my god and for us alone.

    I was born Catholic because my mom was, and while I love her that never sat right with me. And I tried to understand, but all I saw was inconsistency people using faith as some sort of shield. To hide behind with a righteous indignation, for anyone who didn't think like them. And that didn't work for me personally, I wanted something more practical so I looked around. And found something that worked for me, that had a practicality to it in the everyday. No god as such but rather a need for compassion, loving kindness and to work with all and any religion. In the pursuit of putting an end to human suffering, to look at science not as something to be feared or to hate. Because it does not blindly agree with us, but as a way to continue to look for ways to better serve humanity. And that won't work for everyone, but it was and is what I needed, but everyone is different. Look for what you need, ask questions and remove what does not work for you.

    I will say that i do believe in gods, but the idea that any god would be unwilling to show you the answers to your questions without first giving yourself to them. is nothing but a red flag, this is how spirits with ill intentions conduct their business on this earth. if Jesus, Yahweh, whatever you want to call him, cannot be honest with me as a non believer. then i cannot reasonably trust that he ever will be even as a follower. but i don't truly believe that is what that god is like. no i believe we've been fed lies through the bible which has been poorly translated and rewritten by man. human beings have been worshiping a book as opposed to god himself. and i do believe even an atheist if they truly wanted to know the truth and the way of god, that he would be more then willing to show them regardless of their suspension of belief in him.
