Your suggestions are fantastic for a speed based build which is excellent to net us early gains to use on later turns but leaves us helpless to aggro strategies and gives our opponents easy to pick off targets as majority of the creatures here are stupidly easy to deal with and we also need Gonti out if we want that saboteur trigger to go off as much as possible. My advice would be to add more cards that can grant evasion such as the crown granting keeper of keys which yes costs 3UU at 4/4 but makes all of our creatures unblockable should we be the monarch which will happen frequently assuring we can have much more attackers get through. Because we are playing a lot of creatures with power 4 or greater playing gore claw, terror of Qal sisma should totally be worth considering as she is a 4/3 for 3G and reduces our 4+ power creatures cmc by 2 grants and them all +1/+1 and trample whenever we attack which will happen frequently granting us more triggers. We all know you're going to do a build around it but straight up replacing Gonti, canny aquisitor with Felix five boots is just too good to refuse as we have a 5/4 menace, ward 2 for 2BGU that doubles up all of our saboteur triggers including Gonti's netting us two cards exiled instead of one and the menace and ward 2 gives Felix some decent protection and evasion to swing in with. If you want some additional ramp Sakiko, mother summer should be run here as well because even though she is a 3/3 vanilla herself for a hefty 4GG she does make it so whenever a creature we control deals combat damage to a player we add that much G to our mana pool and this mana does not empty from our mana pool as steps and phases end making me feel like it is a must here. Elder brain is as mean as they can get as we get a nicely sized 6/6 menace for 5BB that does a collosal theft on just attacking alone no connection by exiling our opponents current hand and giving us all of those cards to cast from. Tlincali hunter/retrieve prey should definitely not be missed out on as the adventure retrieve prey can give us recursion for 1G while the hunter is an impressive 7/7 trampler for yes 5GG but allows us to pay 0 to cast any creature spells we will definitely have in exile so this fits in rather excellent for our strategy. On the course with Some evasion granting outside gore claw terror of Qal Sisma there's thunderfoot baloth which it's lieutenant ability grants all of our creatures +2/+2 and trample and turns it into a 7/7 trample itself for 4GG should be worth considering. Wonder or levitation should also be considered as either card grants all of our creatures flying either from our graveyard in wonders case or the battlefield in levitations case. Surrak and Goreclaw should also be added here as they are a 6/5 trample for 4GG but gives everything else we have trample as well and mega riot by making it so our creatures ETB with a +1/+1 counter and haste making it so they can attack faster and making it a bit more difficult for our opponents to block efficiently. You missed out on Nightveil specter which is also an inexpensive attacker at 2/3 with flying at U/B x3 and also plays into the theft theme perfectly. Vela the night clad can be worth considering as she she may be a 4/4 intimidate at 4UB which is pricey but she gives all of our other creatures intimidate as well and should they ever leave the battlefield our opponents each lose 1 life which our couple of ninjutsu cards can assure that happens. I think we would be remiss if we didn't go for Ink-eyes servant of oni as she is a a 5/4 for 4BB but ninjutsus for 3BB but also has whenever it deals combat damage to a player we can put a creature card from their graveyard onto the battlefield under our control also regenerates for 1B which I think can be a form of evasion via peotection. I think this covers all of the evasion I can think about and all of these cards should be considered here. Hey Grazzet you want to truly destroy the budget then opposition agent is an absolute must as she is a 3/2 flash for 2B but the flash effectively makes her cost 0 as we can summon her before our opponents end steps but makes it so we control our opponents while they search their libraries and they exile any and all cards that are searched for this way and we may cast those cards and we can spend mana of any color to cast those cards for as long as they remain exiled. The last price I saw for opposition agent was $49.99 before tax. The last card worth considering is pastor's grasp which further destroys the budget by giving us a sorcery that costs 1BB but let's us search one opponents library for any card and exile it face down and we can cast that spell for as long as ot remains exiled and we may spend mana of any color to cast that spell. The last price I paid for this after tax was roughly $30.00 tops but is worth it overall as I get any card I want including a wincon that our targeted opponent has thus ruining their plan near completely
At this point just build big stompy goreclaw 😂. Gonti just needs to steal stuff and have value enabling cards. The fact you suggested replacing him and focused on a beat down strategy is why you lost the plot imo. 🎉
If you find my idea funny that really is great as unfortunately Gonti is needed on the table to trigger their ability and yes it is indeed powerful but to get maximum uses out of Gonti we need to spread our attacks because one connecting attack means one card no matter how many creatures got through. Even if you get two or more connecting attacks on one opponent you're only getting one card whereas if we hit three opponents we get three cards and Felix five boots doubles that all over from 2-6 cards instead of 1-3 cards which is why I put it as the commander over Gonti and a lot of the cards you laugh at are cards that have been strongly recommended for Gonti, canny aquisitor builds and do indeed support them quite well so in my opinion jokes on you somewhat. If you don't believe me go to edhrec precon upgrades to prove my point

I love your vids and I was really waiting for this one! I had a lot of theft cards and whatnot already so I did some upgrading myself but these picks are really good I’m surprised that the Sultai precons were considered some of the best Back to Back, and it’s really cool cause it’s my favorite color pair I still can’t believe they made a genuine theft precon- I had a don Andre’s deck it never really worked out, but this deck and these colors really work cause a lot of theft stuff is insanely expensive so having green even just to ramp helps a ton! It does suck that Gonti has like 0 protection so he’s gonna catch a lot of removal, my personal upgrade has more stuff for that like Asceticism, Saryth, Boots, but the trick for him that I figured out is to just play him when you’d have enough for tax or at least can get a good hit off .
Personally I would add in something like Druid Class as well, something that lets us play multiple lands per turn; you're likely to steal a lot of lands from your opponents' decks, so you might as well make use of them to pay for your mana-intensive gameplan. I agree with your assessment of the precon's build, it's very well put together right out of the box.
Also, Lantern of Insight! It looks silly, but the additional info on what's on top of everyone's library means you know which opponents you should attack with your unblockable creatures first
Any way you could have the upgrades on a separate list? Or on the sideboard of the deck? Love your videos and how you describe what you're taking out but when looking to get the cards myself I've gotta go and contrast and compare the two decklists haha

4:47 If Cazur, rutless stalker didn't provide +1/+1 counters to our creatures whenever they connected to our opponents both him and Ukkima, stalking shadow would be out in heartbeat but because of this boost I'd love to remove them but if you remove one you have to remove the other as the two cards are meant to be played together so this annoys me greatly to no end. Chaos wand is worth keeping because I'm not sure if you've forgotten but unless specified otherwise activated abilities can be used at anytime even on our opponents turns creating some real spell disruption especially against spell slinger players where this can really hurt them as they often have specific spell setups.

I'm of 2 minds on this card. One the one hand, it is a do nothing enchantment that doesn't function unless we have an established boardstate in a deck that already has a handful of those already, but on the other it does allows us to effectively double our mana to let us cast even more of our opponents spells.... I would run it per preference - I feel like the deck doesn't need it, making it a win more card, but it can still get a lot of work done when it does work.
And alternative is Druid’s Repository because it works even if you don’t get a hit off, and since you’re a combat damage deck you’re definitely gonna swing at least once every turn

I'll say it straight do it as Don Andres the renegade is definitely superior as a theft commander compared to Gonti canny acquisitor and to add insult to injury Grixis quite literally is the Shard of theft all round: Blue can take single cards permanently with cards like bribery, dominate, aethersnatch and confiscate, Red can take a bunch of cards temporarily with cards like insurrection and mob rule or for a lower price can like blue take single cards but only temporarily with cards like act of treason and malevolent whispers and Black can take cards off the top of libraries under specific conditions with cards like thieving amalgam, cunning rhetoric, Orochi soul-reaver and outrageous robbery and either manifests them or let's us cast them later on. As I'm writing Grixis quite literally equals the ultimate thief hands down bar none. My advice if you want to do a Sultai commander here stick with Felix five boots as the absurd amount of evasion and combat tricks that exist in Sultai leaves it with no contest. In my Felix deck I have no joke a whopping 49 on combat damage triggers between all three colors, and I also have between cards that grant evasion and have built in evasion themselves an absurd 38 cards. This was all with minimal effort. Don't know about you but I think being a vicious assassin with Felix five boots instead of a cunning thief with Gonti canny acquisitor is a drastically bigger pay off and better choice
@@GrazzetMTGI'm a quadrillion percent certain every card you've mentioned here in the video is going to sky rocket to the next universe in terms of price and a lot of them were already somewhat pricey to begin with. This almost feels like your Eldrazi arisen precon upgrade video but with colors instead of being colorless and this is directly why I bought a lot of these cards early to avoid the high price hike on the cards because I give it two weeks to a month and watch all of the prices you said multiply ridiculously but I do love this deck and I have no regrets swapping Gonti for Felix as he does double up Gontis theft abilities and has built in protection(ward 2) and evasion(menace) making running it as my primary commander really hard to pass up on and refuse.
I agree, but that CMC 8 cost was a bit too much for my taste in this build, where I was aiming to keep the curve as low as possible so we could use the majority of our mana to cast our opponents spells. Still, it does have convoke, so we can get it out faster by using our creatures as mana dorks if we need to - so I can certainly see adding it in as a easy to turn all our small creatures into mana sources to help cast out stolen spells.
I don’t think it’s a win con but it is very strong in the core build or a lightly upgraded version of this deck. Having huge drops is kind of a problem in this deck when the main thing you want to do is ramp lands and steal shit. It’s a great deck with a good upgrade path though for sure.

I was thinking of picking this up to build a deck for Tasha herself, seeing that a lot of cards in your deck for her are in this precon.

Gonti is pretty wicked but i think I'll just remove him and all green cards and swap for red cards and put don andres as the commander. 😎

Out of the box it functions pretty well, so I suspect you'll enjoy it if spell stealing is a playstyle you already like.
The locthwain court got spiked because of the new obeka and maybe this precon too.
Yeah... I'm unsure if there was a buyout or if demand went up for it during this set but the price did skyrocket.

I agree, but that CMC 8 cost was a bit too much for my taste in this build, where I was aiming to keep the curve as low as possible so we could use the majority of our mana to cast our opponents spells. Still, it does have convoke, so we can get it out faster by using our creatures as mana dorks if we need to - so I can certainly see adding it in as a easy to turn all our small creatures into mana sources to help cast out stolen spells.

Removing Ukkima and Cazur is a bad idea. They're a win con that tutors each other and works extremely well with the decks creature base.

I don’t think it’s a win con but it is very strong in the core build or a lightly upgraded version of this deck. Having huge drops is kind of a problem in this deck when the main thing you want to do is ramp lands and steal shit. It’s a great deck with a good upgrade path though for sure.
