Cut-Rate Commander - Precon Upgrade Guide for the Eldrazi Incursion Precon from Modern Horizons 3 & its face commander - Ulalek, Fused Atrocity. #mtg #commander #modernhorizons3 #edh
Hey folks! Submitted for your approval, we have the 2nd precon upgrade guide for Modern Horizons 3 - this time covering the Eldrazi Incursion precon and its face commander - the horrifying amalgamation of Ulamog and Kozilek, Ulalek, Fused Atrocity.
In this upgrade, since this precon is a tribal deck at the end of the day, we'll be primarily focused on refining the base builds creature base with more Eldrazi that can make use out of Ulalek'a ability to let us double up on them, whether that be bigger, more high impact ones that would be problematic enough for our opponents on their own but now bring twice the pain alongside Ulalek, or smaller ones who help bring down the cost of their bigger brethren, especially as we copy them.
Then, using what little remains of our budget since Eldrazi are not cheap, we’ll be building up the core builds already robust ramp package even further with both on and off theme entrants to ensure we have the mana need to both cast and copy our eldrazi, as well as adding in a few more passive triggered abilties to the build for our commander to double up for even more value that we don’t have to spend mana for - Allowing Ulalek and its brood to overwhelm the table and reduce our opponents and their creatures to dust.

The only reason why I'm not getting this deck or build is because I already have two five color commander decks in dragons lead by the Ur-dragon itself and allies lead by general Tazri herself and I have a cololess Eldrazi deck and so also I feel buying this deck would defeat the purpose and uniqueness of having an actually colorless deck but that doesn't mean I didn't grab the new colorless Eldrazi to add to my current colorless Eldrazi and yes numerous people have recommended that I do buy this deck for improvements and each time I've said I already have what I want and am happy with what I have.
You totally forgot Ulamog, the defiler here LOL as he also obliterates our budgets and fits perfectly here as well as he obliterates half of our opponents libraries literally just upon being cast and gets +1/+1 counters on him equal to the highest CMC card in exile and then gets annilator X where X is the number of +1/+1 counters on him and did I forget to mention he has ward sacrifice two permanents and you get all of this on a pretty big 7/7 body for 10 CMC meaning not only can he be played here but absolutely anywhere. Ulamog, the defiler more like the obliterator as that is literally what he does with his mere presence and yes I do play him in my Eldrazi deck sue me for being stupid powerful
10:01 You are absolutely right about Bismuth Mindrender being overall worthless and useless in this deck but we all know the perfect commander for it hands down bar none: Felix, five boots as it does have a combat trigger for us to outright exploit and that Felix will definitely double up on and is yet another free theft effect for us to take advantage of. On a seperate but related note I find it ironic how many free theft effects exist in Dimir and how Gonti, canny aquisitor neither supports them or is supported by them as Felix doubles up most to all of them making Gonti by comparison come off as worthless or useless unfortunately not saying it's bad just Felix is so much better.

We'll see if he can beat out Coram, the Undertaker on the polls (Azlask is currently in 2nd place) for the 1st build after the precon upgrades, but even if he isn't, we may see him again in future polls so stay tuned!

@@GrazzetMTGI've said it before and I'll say it again the only drawback Eldrazi have is they're absurdly freaking expensive as otherwise there really nothing wrong with them as we don't bash the opposing players for having counter strategies for Eldrazi as they are that powerful as most Eldrazi especially in the higher rarities demand immediate answers and can be dealt with but must be dealt with immediately or there is a chance you'll lose the following turn and this is also directly why at play tables as powerful and awesome as Eldrazi are why most if not all of the other players will gang up on the Eldrazi player as a properly built deck can and will dominate all of the other players if given any amount of time for set up this is also why they're now infamously called the not so fun or hated tribe as well.

Great video again dude! Skittering cicada is an absolute gem... nothing like like a 3 mana creature becoming a 22/22 Trample after casting a Titan and Copying the affect. UNDERRATED!
Does that work - is the copy "cast"?
@@BraveSirPaul Skittering cicadas ability triggers on cast… ulalek copies the titan spell, and then copies all triggered abilities on the stack.
It gets +10 from Ulamog (for eg) when you cast it. Then you can pay the 2C because it is an Eldrazi spell and then copy all triggered abilities so Skittering cicada gets another +10 +10
@@BraveSirPaul The copy isn’t ‘cast’ but the On-cast ability is copied with Ulaleks ability.
So the originals Cast trigger happens an additional time.

Nulldrifter: I am pretty sure, that evoke is a copyable characteristic. So evoking Nulldrifter and copy the spell let you still sacrifice both.
it's the same reason why copies of kicked spells also count as kicked.
Upon further investigation you are indeed correct! It appears I was confusing myself with ETB copy effects rather than copy effects that occur on the stack - as ETB ones like Reflections of Littjara would bypass evoke but effects that copy on the stack like Ulalek would not.
Sorry for the flub there, though I would still say its a good include despite that if only for the flexibility of it letting us play it for 3, 5, 7, and 9 mana for draw intially or draw & evasive annihilator bodies later.

Loving the upgrades & breakdowns given! One thing just, Emrakul the World Anew isn't a good target for Ulalek's copying effect, since she makes you sacrifice all creatures you control when she leaves the battlefield, so copying her causes you to ultimately lose your board when you have to resolve the Legend rule
I’m pretty sure the nulldrifer with still go away, unless arena is wrong on arena the copy of nulldrifter is still evoked and both die, although still very good

$180 at my LGS but a couple trade ins and I got it for free with a couple packs and I pulled a foiled Grist. Decent win. Going to give these additions a try 👍
Hi! I pulled Rise of the Eldrazi from the promo pack in a commander masters precon! What would you take out for rise of the Eldrazi? If anything?

I would recommend swapping it with Imprisoned in the Moon - which is still a decent piece of removal but not as Good as Rise of the Eldrazi. Its going to raise the builds curve sure, but we have the ramp to get there and its pretty backbreaking when it resolve.

not too shabby of a upgrade for the eldrazi deck definitely was looking forward to this one (i will actually say this you did way better than what the command zone upgrades were)
oh coarse by default i can go the over budget path because all the cards in that area i already have except for the 3.0 eldrazi titans
even though not cut from the main budget part why do people keep cutting Eldrazi displacer? thats likea remarkable and is used despite of not working with cast triggers

oh for honorable mentions is Brood monitor and Spawn gang commander, (if you have Echoes of Eternity or Roaming throne out while Ulalek is in play you get infinite scions/spawns with either, plus eldrazi displacer works with brood monitor)
Would be pretty cool if you can make a deck with shilgengar, sire of famine.
Alchemist's Refuge and Progenitor's Icon are good ways to get flash enablers into the deck that can hide within the manabase until called upon. Void Grafter is another option for a flash Eldrazi with a desirable effect, since having your giant spaghetti monsters get smoked by Swords to Plowshares or Reality Shift is no fun. For an absolutely mean and unfun addition, Spreading Plague will decimate your opponents' boards if they try to add to them while leaving your completely unaffected. Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is my vote for a big money include because one sided exile based board wipes are pretty sweet.
Ulalek does NOT double the ETB triggers cause creatures enter the battlefield AFTER they have resolved and thus are no longer on the stack. Just sayin.
You are technically correct - though the end result ends up being the same - as any Eldrazi that we copy are going to end up entering the battlefield twice after Ulalek's ability resolves (Once when the original ETB's and once when the copy ETB's), resulting in us getting 2 ETB triggers anyway.
Good upgrades, the AI voice was almost unbearable, but glad I stayed for the info
Really excited for omo; hope your considering adding clara oswald from the doctor who set in the deck, she can work as a budget roaming throne of sorts since all creatures with a counter is a doctor card
That is a very good suggestion! At this point my build as a lot more passive& activated abilities rather than triggered ones (outside of Omo of course and a few landfall triggers) so it may not be the best include in my version of the deck, but I can see it as a 2nd, much cheaper, Roaming Throne for a build more focused around triggered effects.
@GrazzetMTG makes sense; the landfall package in the main deck was really disappointing honestly. And the creatures mostly lack luster. It won't be hard to make a much cooler version of the deck
I pulled many of the Eldrazi from this deck in my prerelease packs and prizes, including the commander and 2 of 3 of the titans. Definitely going to build this for a reasonable price. Definitely not worth what it’s going for.

Was waiting for this precon, but made the mistake of not having money to preorder it and now it has the commander masters problem of being ~100$ or ~500$ if you want the collector edition.

I did my own upgrades before this went out. I played 2 games... My friends got salty and said "why would you play this deck 5 times in a row?"

I have not had the chance to play Flesh and Blood myself, but have looked into it briefly - it seems interesting but, from what I understand, it has a pretty severe "chase" issue with their sets (like serialized cards from MTG but somehow ever rarer). Then again, I could be working with outdated info, since it has been a few years.
the current price on cardmarket of this deck is just beyond stupid. I bought it in. a local store for almost half its price. its ridiculous how nasty the price is online. font be fooled people!
