Cut-Rate Commander - Precon Upgrade Guide for the Veloci-Ramp-Tor Precon from Lost Caverns of Ixalan & its commander - Pantlaza, Sun-Favored #mtg #edh #commander #mtgixalan #mtglci
Hey folks! Submitted for your approval, we have the 3rd precon upgrade guide for Lost Caverns of Ixalan - this time covering the Veloci-Ramp-Tor Precon and its face commander - Huatili’s loyal raptor companion - Pantlaza, Sun-Favored.
In this upgrade guide, we’ll be aiming to get as much mileage out of our commanders ability to discover off our Dinosaurs entering the battlefield via circumventing its once per turn clause - either by taking advantage of cards that allow us to cast our dinosaurs at flash speed or through cards that allow us to simply cheat creatures into play on our opponents turns to go from 1 free spell per rotation to up to 4. Then from there, we’ll be adding in more ways for us to take advantage of our dinosaurs entering the battlefield to draw us more dinosaurs to cast/cheat into play, and, of course, adding in even bigger dinosaurs to our build to run over our opponents with - until we’re left with an impressive selection of specimens that even John Hammond would be impressed with.

Teleportation circle would be nice too. It blinks at your end step, but if you target your commander you refresh the discover giving another trigger

Great Precon Upgrade! I think this is a very good choice for a friend of mine. He loves Casual and Dinosaurs and this Deck fits both. :)
Great video! I'm personally looking forward to the Explorers of the deep precon upgrades! It is already so good right out of the box but it can be better haha!
A clarification: with tranquil frillback, you can only choose each option once, so you're at most sweeping one player's graveyard.

Hoo boy, finally got to crack into this offering; now to see how Grazz fixed what is quite decent out the box
Love these upgrade choices. I was thinking about Sneak Attack, but shied away from it because it felt like it would just read as "discard dinosaur, discover X". Monster Manual I had an eye on.
I'm also greedy and ran Ephemerate as both a protection spell for targeted removal and to Discover 4 with Pantlaza one more time, haha.

Edit: I'd also furthered my greed by adding Flaming Tyrannosaurus from the Doctor Who commander decks. Tacking on a Lightning Bolt to all the Discover triggers seemed too delicious to not run. There's always also Passionate Archaeologist, but I settled for big dumb flaming dinosaur.
i think some flicker spells like ephemerate or cloudswift is a nice thing too. You can use this as a removel-counter or to repeat pantlaza's trigger (or every other etb-trigger like apex altisaur etc.

The last of the decks my gf is interested in, absolutely going to get the Jurassic Park cards at some point for her. As for me, looking forward to Explorers of the Deep next week! As well as the drawing tomorrow. Gingerbread hype!
One addition thays underated is the new caves. There surprising nice and there discover can unbrick you late game

@@barrysetser3909she and Pantlaza are great in Alta Palini as support. With her you can crack eggs on opponnet turns and with Pantlaza you will hit second for free.💯👍

Panharmonicon is a card that jumped to my mind but I don’t know how good of a card it would be to build around.
DINO DNA!!!!!! Yeah, amazing deck as always... man, that moment on the Great Henge is just golden though. Just, the sigh of exhaustion and tired acceptance... straight up Rata level, muy bien.
Now the next deck... ah, the Deep deck. Sure is deep.

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the support as always! Any yeah, its a but of a meme but that fact that green has some really busted cards that other colors would kill for (I'm looking at you white) does irk me sometimes.
I wouldn't say that I actually hate a specifically - though there are a few cards that baffle me on how overvalued they are by players and by their price. Descendants Path here for example - the card was about $7 before being reprinted and for what? Assuming that roughly a 1/3rd of the deck is creatures, getting you a free spell once every 3 turns and the rest of the time sending it to the bottom? Not worth it. Now, if you have topdeck manipulation shenanigan's it gets significantly better, but not $7 worth.
The exception to that is stax cards though, because screw stax.....
@@GrazzetMTGPath would be better in merefolk precon instead in dinos.
@@GrazzetMTGI disagree, if you are a tribal matter deck, making sure you don't draw a non-tribal card is pretty good

Sneak attack It's still a valuable option since it's just a red to put anything down compared to the clock which takes forn tap. I know I get sacrificed. But I believe just hitting the discovery. Triggers is better than just trying to keep a creature on board that more likely. Someone's gonna try to board wipe.
What would be good swaps for Ravenous Tyrannosaurus, Hunting Velociraptor and Welcome to... in this case?

I’ve been going crazy on upgrades for this deck, so excited Dino’s are so fun! I ended up finding a hunting raptors and a welcome to, which obviously got put in immediately but I found this other card in the pirates precon I got, Contest of Claws. Is it worth the include? It’s basically ram through but you also discover off the excess damage

I think this deck is the best one out of the others.
Yeah the merfolk seems better because of the commanders, but there's not many strong normal merfolks
