      Hunter Bravo interesting idea with onion salt . I use celery salt and do that or if I don't have any I add celery seed to the yolk mix . Same for egg salad sandwiches

    Tammy, I realize this video was from a long time ago, but I've only been a subscriber for a few weeks. My husband of 41 years wanted me to THANK YOU for telling me how to boil eggs! For YEARS I have been doing it wrong and for YEARS he's had to hear me cuss and carry on because my eggs would not peel correctly. When I watched this video and you told us to use a spoon and lower them slowly into boiling water I thought...YEAH RITE! I just knew they would bust open...but I decided to give it a try and IT WAS A MIRACLE!!! EASY TO PEEL EGGS...so my husband says THANK YOU THANK YOU...there will finally be silence in the kitchen when I boil eggs...except today because I was hootin' and hollarin' and jumpin' for JOY

    OMG I did this and FINALLY have a way to peel eggs and every single one came out perfect. Thanks so very much. I did start out by warming the eggs in warm water before cooking them because mine were cold from the refrigerator. But I don't know if you really have to or not.

    • @ronmccord2121
      @ronmccord2121 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The eggs should be at reasonable room temperature BEFORE adding them to boiling water - provided you wish to "greatly" lessen the chance of their cracking. Placing the cold eggs in a container of slightly warm tap water for a few minutes works quite well.

    Mayonnaise, mustard, Old Bay and crab meat and watch them disappear. Or coat the bottom of the egg with cheese whiz make egg mixture with mayo mustard and crushed bacon, these are a hit with the kids. Serve them with toasted French bread slices topped with pizza sauce, cheese and a slice of pepperoni placed under the broiler till cheese melted. For about four or five dollars, very little time and you got party winners that everybody will enjoy. Go to the store and spend a lot on party trays or make your own and save money and experience the wow factor as taste buds go wild. Throw in some fried chicken, homemade potato salad and homemade cold slaw, some cold drinks and a birthday cake (if the occasion calls) and everybody will be asking When is the next party. It's so easy to entertain even on a budget but so few try it. Super Bowl coming up. Serve with cheese tray and cold beer.

    Thank you, Tammy for the great tip on making boiled eggs that peel easily. We love deviled eggs but I always had so much trouble with peeling the eggs that I avoided making them till I bought a Mealthy (like Instant) Pot. It does boiled eggs that are easy to peel in 5 minutes & now I have your stove top method too. My husband and I enjoy your cooking shows so very much and I have supplemented my kitchen tools with many of your Amazon links. I bought both of your cookbooks and with your videos have learned many tips to make cooking fun again. You are saving us money because we don’t eat out as much anymore and we eat better too. May you, Chris, and daughters have a blessed 2020. Looking forward to all your new videos in your new kitchen.

    I put the eggs in cold water and bring the heat - for me, it works one hundred times better. Bring the pot to a boil, turn off the heat, let the pot set for 10-11 minutes, and put the eggs in an ice bath. Nothing better than this method. Easy peel, perfect eggs.

    This is how I boil mine. I leave the eggs come to room temp first. On a rare occasion one will crack due to the quick change in temp. I usually put an extra in jut in case. Cool in an ice bath. But I think it helps separate the egg form the membrane for super easy pealing!

    Wait, what? My mom has us adding either a splash of dark apple cider vinegar or a dab of baking soda, (whichever is closer to the pot), to make eggs easy to peel. We get eggs from my besties chickens, but a nightmare to peel, either way seems to be better than doing nothing. Even the spoon boiling didn’t help them peel 100%, but was better than nothing. The eggs we get are born and delivered same day, I hear store eggs peel better, they may be a few days older, not sure. I’d like to near what others say on all this. Thanks for always yummy recipes! BTW we make devil eggs w/ white pepper, smoked paprika and now a blob of soft butter, the butter/egg comments at dinners have never beat another recipe. 😘. Gotta love butter.

    Use good qualify smoke paprika not that tinned canned cheap red powder. Go to Mexican, Indian, or Oriental markets for spices higher quality, fresher less processed, more flavorful and in many cases cheaper. They can and do make a big difference.

    Hi Ms Tammy! Easiest way ever to cook & peel hard boiled eggs! Thanks for sharing your cooking method along with your recipe for the filling for deviled eggs, too! Delicious! ☺

    I am going to boil eggs right now because yesterday, it took me almost and hour to peel 6 eggs! My husband said "its because you don't have the right color nail polish on." Men (sigh). Anyway, I will prove you wrong!
    Well...I'm back to relay the results. IT WORKED! I boiled 6 eggs just to prove you wrong. But within 1 1/2 minutes every egg was peeled and not one single blemish on even one of them! Nearly 70 years old and I finally learned to do this. Everyone else says "start with cold water because the eggs are cold from the fridge", or "add vinegar to the water", or "add salt". Never did work. Thank you for (this so late in ) life-hack. BTW, we are having egg salad sandwiches for lunch and (praise the Lord), without bits of egg shell!

    I subscribe to your method and have been doing it many years. I sometimes have a problem with fresh eggs, they don’t cooperate as well so I’ll let them set a couple of weeks before using.

    Just like I make mines. Im going to make these memorial weekend for a barbeque. Love your accent. Use that elbow grease. I agree with you if I don't have to take out any appliances and I could do it by hand I'm going to do it. Because back in the day they didn't have no mixers they use her hands just like you did everything with their hands then they came out with that manual hand mixer you had to turn yourself my grandmother had one of them. Great video as usual and you and your husband look good together...

    I steam my eggs. Bring a little water to a boil, add the steamer and eggs, steam for 12 minutes then dump in ice water. Eggs always peel easily. I have even boiled my eggs in a little water, maybe an inch or so and got the same results. Enjoy your channel.
