Lowkey mad that 4Kids made a dub of Sonic X that was so bad and cut out so much of the story that I avoided it until I decided to watch the original Sonic X Japanese dub as an adult. I can't believe I missed this when I was younger! This year is definitely Sonic's year; I'm mostly excited about Sonic 3 and Knuckles' TV show. EDIT: I like comical Eggman but I guess it depends on the tone of the story. Eggman's potrayal was perfect in the Sonic Boom tv show but it would be SO out of place in Sonic SATAM. I like Eggman from the Sonic movies because he is absolutely unhinged and has that perfect blend of 'comical villian' and 'threatening and makes me scared for my life'.
Cant even lie. Whenever someone mentions this show the prowler theme plays in my head. It has good ideas. Good concepts. Good episodes. But the majority is frustrating to sit through.
One thing I’ve always loved about Sonic X is that, it has this “let’s go on an adventure and just do stuff” most episodes but the plot heavy episodes-while there’s few- take the elements from the early games but makes it its own thing, a lot of people see it as filler but to me I really don’t mind, not every show or anything is gonna be plot heavy deep and complex every single episode, I just want to see my favorite characters do whatever plot or not, and simplicity is absolutely fine, also Sonic, Rogue, Knuckles and Shadow will forever be my favorite characters in Sonic X, everyone else is ok but not bad, but I’m still iffy on Chris though, I completely understand he’s a kid in elementary school but he’s so… meh, and I agree about the musical stings in the dub, they got so tedious, and the ridiculous edits in the 4kids dub, oh man lol

Eggman will do stuff like this (or the baseball thing), than he’ll be casually taking out entire armies. He’s just an insane mad scientist and it’s kind of interesting to watch. 19:35 When I was watching it on Netflix a couple of days ago while drawing, it made sense to me why knew him. Sonic has been defeating Eggman publicly for a while now, and interacting with people while Eggman yells his name, so it made sense to me that the news station would at least know Sonic’s name by now due to either hearing it, asking Sonic for it, or just asking someone who was there that may have heard Eggman say it. 33:03 It was to get to different islands. Sonic’s world has a ton of islands scattered around the place, so he uses the plane to cross the ocean. 50:25 Definitely depends on the story for me. If it’s light hearted, then comical. If it’s like frontiers or forces, it’d be jarring to hear Eggman be silly when things are so serious. 52:53 I thought he did that so he’d have a hostage for when he fights Sonic. 53:51 for real. I like how Eggman usually has characters to bounce off of. 55:54 Ikr! 59:25 I thought Season one was pretty entertaining. Granted, I watched it while animating or drawing, but I still found myself enjoying it more than I thought I would’ve when compared to when I saw the show as a kid.
Feels great to know I'm not the only one who thought Ella's character was kinda racist... Like, she's a very loveable character, but the way she was written is questionable lol
