    I spent a solo weekend camping near Moab, Utah recently, where I put to use a new portable pellet grill from Z Grills. The Cruiser 200A is a portable smoker pellet grill that will run off a portable battery generator. It's got a large cooking area for a small grill and is a lot of fun to cook with. It's a great way to up your cooking game for weekend car camping trips!

    Loved that intro and the change of pace with the video. That zgrill would be awesome to take on some of our car camping trips. Food looked great!

    This was a fun video to watch and different from your backpacking vids. Do please plan to do more of these car camping trips!

    That might not be the remote camp site you wanted but that place is fantastic. Just you, that scenery, a picnic table, that’s great. You people are spoiled out west, that’s a dream spot in the east. Nice grill. How come you don’t use a bigger more roomy and comfortable tent for car camping? Great scene man

      Thanks! I am always testing gear and trying to get nights out with new gear items. So while I normally would have a larger tent, I was putting that tent through some testing for a future review.

    That made me hungry. I dig the background music. Doesn't drown you out and sets a very laid back mood.

    Rainbow looked great. I really want to sleep like that when I’m out so I’m excited to try the zen bivy. If you need a wingman sometime on remote trips let me know. Great vid.

    I love taking car camping trips from time to time. It’s nice to get out under the stars with some better food, some luxury items, and more comfortable sleep set up. Plus my wife won’t backpack haha. So it’s the only way I can get her to tag along.

      I enjoy car camping as much as backpacking. Both have their own level of adventure. Thanks Jim!

    Any idea on the power consumption while it is operating? (how many watts for startup and then continuous operation?)

    Work is still work but combining work with play can help make it bearable. I get your disappointment with being in a campground too BUT, apparently y'alls "campgrounds" look like backcountry wilderness sites compared to our campgrounds around Indiana. Beautiful looking place.Good food while camping is so much better than good food while at home!! Keep up the great work Mr. Devin!!

    You make great content. Don't burn out try to find a balance where you can still enjoy the outdoors without trying to make a video. Maybe a simple Insta360 go life camera may work. Keep up the great work. God bless

    Can you send a link for the battery bank?

  • @melissavanhoven7390
    @melissavanhoven7390 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What size battery pack is that? What size do you need to run off grid like that and how long will it run the grill?

    • @BackcountryExposure
      @BackcountryExposure  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This one is a 500W Bluetti. I also use a Ecoflow 700W River Pro. It will run the grill for 8-10 hours no problem. On this trip, the 500W was at 30% after a full weekend of use.

    I heat my living-room with a pellet stove. The smoke that it produces is nasty, really nasty. My question is this. Is your food in contact with the smoke or does it cook in a separate chamber?

    • @kevincolwell2115
      @kevincolwell2115 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wood pellets for heat are made of the cheapest wood they can find, usually pine. Wood pellets for these pellet stoves are made from nice wood like cherry, mesquite, hickory, etc., and they use binders that don't impart any chemical taste. They're quite a bit more expensive than what you use to heat the house, but you need a heckuva lot less of them to just cook a meal.
