  • We have two Fiat Panda 4x4's - our 2021 319 & the previous episode our 2008 169 1.3 diesel multijet.
    Watch both to compare how they drive on the same loop of road here in Portugal.
    We love off road - so join our adventures as we prepare our vehicles in the workshop and drive the tracks here in the stunning Algarve region of Portugal.
    Dropping in the occasional "off piste" video when something tickles us, as we look at other vehicles, workshop products to give you tips and practical advice on maintaining your pride and joy !
    We are not experts, a father & son team doing our best to show you both ways, the right and unfortunately for us, occasionally the wrong :)
    Our new tools will get tested, with various products to save you time and money - again helping you select the right tool, fluid, oil, parts and much much more.
    Our videos help you find the content you need, without endless searching - Igniti0n points you in the right direction, with brief snippets that will not detract from you viewing the full video from the real contributor - we are here to promote them, not ruin your enjoyment.
    We will also drop in the occasional "off piste" video recommendation if one tickles us as we troll through the endless stream of content - or just banter between ourselves :)

    I miss the sound. I had a new Panda twin air in 2012. Standard FWD model. Very odd engine in so much as at motorway speeds with the revs high, it was relaxing as if the revs were low. Bonkers car.

      It surprised us, sounded like it had an aftermarket system on, love the sound - ours is a 6 speed so the motorway is OK, just OK 🤣

      @@DrivenMadShow Im trying to think of something else with AWD to buy but really haven’t a clue. I know most time you dont need it but in the UK when the weather turns the roads are crap because councils don’t grit much of it. Ive had a Subaru Outback but it was a bit hefty on running costs unfortunately as I had finance cost on top which was a lot. I go on adventures all year round in the UK so I need AWD. Seat Leon Cupra 300ST is catching my eye and is a cash buy so I could afford to run a powerful car hopefully. As for this Fiat, id consider one again and from experience, and notice you do it as well, to avoid that lag between gears with having a turbo on a small engine, changing up quickly at low revs seems to make progress more relaxing. My Dacia Sandero 0.9TCE is the same, have to change up at low revs or it lurches somewhat.

    Hi both, I''ve ordered a brand new Panda cross 4x4 Twin Air as they are now available in the UK with the new touchscreen which was a deal breaker for me. It arrives (hopefully) September, and the dealer offered me more part exchange on my red twin air cross 4x4 than what I paid for it 12 months ago. Two things I noticed though with the 'facelift' 2022 model is that it comes with summer tyres in the UK and not the Vector all weather tyre that's fitted to mine (apparently something to do with emissions) and also the lack of choice with colours now. The green metallic and the pastel blue are no longer available in the UK along with a few others which is a shame, I went for metallic grey with the (must have) winter pack and spare wheel. I'll change the tyres to all weather when it arrives. One other thing is on the 2022 model the ECO button is always on so you have to switch it off every time you get in it - emissions again...But the touchscreen will outweigh all the cons and I can't wait for it to arrive. I hear on the grapevine that the Panda is now staying in production until 2025 / 2026, as it's still the best selling car in Italy, so I'll keep this until it conks out as I don't want an electric Panda 4x4.

      When we ordered ours (although we had to tell the dealer they still sold them 😵) we had no clue what we were getting - so the screen was a pleasant surprise - ours came with Conti eco's which are poor - the Michelin Latitudes I have on now, I cannot recommend enough - winter pack is sadly not available here, I am a right wimp, so very jealous of that option - I bang on about that eco button all the time, totally ruins the car and uses more fuel - all for emissions testing that is just (insert correct swear word here ) - an ev is very high on my list of wants - having a large solar jobby fitted later in the year (hope) really want to be off grid power and car wise, will use the car as part power storage as well car2home2car etc - dont hate me - I love ev's 🥷🏽

      Great colour choice - here in Portugal the winter pack is not available, for a wimp like me, very missed - we have a T cross with heated seats ... used a surprising amount in Portugal (once acclimatised, 10 degrees is like minus 5 to me 😂)

    When you press throttle around 2000 rpm, some rough rattle noise comes from dashboard side (I think). Do you know the cause of this noise?

    • @DrivenMadShow
      @DrivenMadShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only noise the car has, is an exhaust rasp - it's a vocal little engine (in a good way) and rasps away - in reality it sounds great and from the outside sounds like an aftermarket sports exhaust is on, yet its all stock - there is not a rattle as such, the car is surprisingly well screwed together.

      We have an uphill drive from the coast to the mancave - if we just take that journey, we have achieved our best lowest score (if you get my drift) at 2.7l/100 !! our average over 3 months is 6.6 (no off road, then it drinks like Richard Burton - if you are old enough to know who that is :)

    Il pulsante eco si può staccare in marcia ,o si deve arrestare la marcia grazie in anticipo.

    • @DrivenMadShow
      @DrivenMadShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      L'auto parte sempre in eco (qualche legge dell'UE in materia di emissioni) puoi cambiarla quando vuoi - tutto ciò che fa è rendere il motore debole per superare il test delle emissioni, non (come sembra) dà un migliore risparmio di carburante - fack sulle colline usa di più mentre guidi con il piede sul pavimento.

    I wish Fiat used a 315 or 270 degree crank for this, instead of the 360…

    • @DrivenMadShow
      @DrivenMadShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Way past my paygrade crank degrees 😊 boggo 2ltr diesel chugga would be perfect - tons of torque, great economy and last years 😭

    • @muaythai193
      @muaythai193 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Fiat has a parallel twin with 360 degree crankshaft, which means that the cylinders fire evenly (sounds bad, for me).
      Parallel twin with 270 degree crank (sounds similar to a Ducati with 90 degree v-twin):
      th-cam.com/video/HGajnVFj7R8/w-d-xo.html
      Parallel twin with 315 degree twin (sounds like a Harley with 45 degree v-twin):
      th-cam.com/video/W5cL5pTPpM4/w-d-xo.html
      All Fiat had to do was use one of those crankshafts, and the Twinair would sound like that!
      They could then pair it with a hybrid system, and fuel it with e-fuel, to make it future proof.
      But what did they do instead? Stopped producing the Twinair… smh
