Brilliant concept but really needs a top speed at least 10 mph higher unless you are ok with being the front of a very angry queue on every main road .

Hi, Ami is not for every main street.
That's because Citroën wanted the Ami to be a quadricycle (AM license) from the ground up, so more people (especially older people and young children in France) could drive the Ami. And due to the restricted European laws, this kind of vehicle isn't legally allowed to travel with speeds greater than 45 km/h.
@@stefan25769 Increasing the top speed above 45kmph would just move it to the heavy quadricycle class of L7e. This would be a lot more attractive to me. In France the 45kmph limit is associated with their “voitures sans permis” market, which is not relevant in the UK.
@@tonyclark6618 You can always get a Renault Twizy the 80 km/h version.

It’s not a car, it’s a quadricycle. Hence why 14 year olds in France can drive it without a licence.

Sorry, but this is a mediocre option. There are plenty real cars of similar dimentions. This one is a motorised office chair, which has it's benefits of course, but i wouldn't call it "best"

I love this!
It was like I could imagine driving myself (which I never did) and I got already the anxiety of not really knowing the width of the car. One normally has never to face that problem as biker but here once could be forced to pass between a line parked cars and a car coming with little space left. This could be trained with boxes somewhere I guess.
This car would work really well in crowded cities like london or something i believe, also it'd probably fit pretty well in wales right now given the new 20mph speed limit stuff

I think it look good and practical, it not made to be a road car but a short range transportation, and for me that want to take it slow and look around, that would be a perfect moped-car for me. Thank you for showing.

Not altogether sure you could keep this thing on the road at 60mph and above. Have you seen him constantly making corrections with the steering wheel even while driving on the straight parts of the road?
Please test drive this in Canada during the winter, hopefully with ankle deep snow

@@sirspectre3485 It's plastic and so are our shovels and replacement hockeystick blades, toboggans, miniskiis ice scrapers, it would survive in the snow. If it didn't, then they could simply add some extra plastic to it or use a different type of plastic.
I want to see one with some more winter grade offroad type tires being demonstrated beside a factory OEM setup.

The main problem I have with Ami Videos is, you never see anyone driving at night. I have no idea what that would be like.

yes light quadricycle= doest need a driving license, only the same basic permit as with 50cc scooters

It's probably good for overpopulated cities or countries like India and China. I'd assume that most people would buy it so tourists or migrants can rent them for a short period of time because I don't see this car practical for the long term. I like the concept, I think it has potential.

@Esh Oh it definetly might be cheaper than that. I think it really has a potential. Also if I take my favorite car to city I'm always stressed that someone will scratch it or hit it. With this one I would be as relaxed as water because financial implications are two orders of magnitude smaller

Needs 3 hours to charge (43 mile range total) and over $7,000 for the car prob closer to 8-9k after all fees, maybe if it was closer to 4-5k total it would be a cool little city delivery car but not practical for anything else.
It is a good car to teach a child to drive without taking too much risk.

Its well known that putting flame stickers or paint on your car automatically makes your car faster. The same can be said if it is in red or has a spoiler! Just going 50kph will make you feel like you are going the speed of sound! 😂😂
