Your ball bearings wont last long ,drill presses are not made to take side loads ,also if you dont have drawbar morse taper falls out when its exposed to side force chatter.

Tienes razón porque los rodamientos internos del taladro no soportan bien las fuerzas laterales cuando se fuerza la fresa de un lado a otro, las fuerzas que si soportan son las verticales, a la larga terminan rompiéndose

I agree but he now also has a cross slide that is assymetrical and off center which is still better (in my opinion) than having no cross slide. I am designing my own "strange" mini lathe that combines a bunch of weird features. I don't have the money to buy a standard model so I can respect the work this guy is doing.

Otra mejora podría ser el usar dos planchuelas para la base, una que vaya fija sobre la mesa del taladro con dos tornillos para mas estabilidad y con el eje pivote hacia arriba, sobre la que montar la segunda que es la que va a girar. Aunque ya te digo que el trabajo esta brutal. muy ingenioso, a ver si me animo a hacer una.
I am a student and I like this project but I think there is something wrong with it, And that the bearings are mounted in the wrong direction. It should have been placed vertically so that it could lift weights and move smoothly.

like the triple crank table stop ..very clever made one of these myself years ago but mines more conventional in design .mounted mill table to base plate and left drill table in middle turned away for milling and bring it forward to drill ... did you know medical lift up easy chairs have acme thread rods with motors and can become a power feed very easily

Enjoyed your craftsmanship, but you do realize over time all those all thread metal to metal points will get sloppy. Should have built brass bushings, which will last longer and be replaceable. Good job though!

Без защиты не рискнул бы запускать балгарку , в первую очередь техника безопасности .

I'd rather a pro spindle thread intead of common screw bar and I'd certainly use stainless steel instead of carbon iron.
You can do it with the materials you like, I'm just showing my idea of how to do it.
