The belt of the belt sander remains in a position with a long circumference.
It is essential to securely attach the base plate to the grinder body. (I shaved off a small protrusion.)
For safety, the RPM has been reduced to about 5000 for the test run. -
Since grinders rotate at high speeds, if you're concerned about the safety aspects such as material scattering, consider using a variable speed grinder or a speed controller (10:32). Details of the tools used are listed in the description. Thank you for watching.

d oyu have measurements or plans for thes parts?
As a metal worker and weldor, having made all my own fixtures, jig's and many tools my whole working life, this is a fantastic video with really well done ideas. I would suggest a variable speed grinder for anyone building these.
This old dog appreciates seeing these tricks.
you're a bad metal worker for recommending the variable speed ones.
unless you wanna spend ALOT
i have had a few variable speed ones. and they would have all grinded to a complete halt with half of the operations the guy is showing in the video.
his grinder actually powers through. that's what you're after.
@@darkracer1252 Variable speed grinders vary in price. And what is considered a lot to one person could be spare change to another. And slowing down the rpm's can be well worth the price depending on what you are grinding, even metal.
Your experience is one thing, but it's not a universal fact. Varying rpm's can be done in more than one way and that affects performance. Not to mention how you use the tool. Stuff a work piece into any tool like a gorilla, beyond it's design parameters, and you'll get shit results.
Steel can tolerate higher rpm grinder speeds, generally. But wood is different. Tool speed and abrasive have to be considered more with wood as it varies more. Density, grain, composition, combustion point, etc.
Can tools be pushed and/or pulled outside of their design and used successfully? Sure. But you have to have the experience. Many hobbyists just don't have that tool time.
Just not for noob workers. Noobs and clumsy people stick to the comments that instill fear and terror into you 😂
Yup! Says the fellow welder and metal worker. :)
I love it when the only non-hand tool you use is a drill press, and then you make your jigs so precisely.
I got into woodturning several years ago and discovered I needed this and that and that making my own tools and jigs was as much fun as using them for the needed task .
Watching you makes me nostalgic. My grandfather was a garden tool fabricator in Vietnam before the fall of Saigon. And growing up when I would visit him in the summer in Calgary Canada I would see him modify so many things in my presses and molds for sausages and cakes and meat patties. Somehow watching you work brings back sweet memories of my maternal grandfather thank you so much for your work and sharing it with the rest of us Love and peace from New Jersey.
the fall of Saigon
dude, I know what you mean. my uncle was very handy and creative. taught me alot about tools and making things. I learned a lot from him.
👍😎👍
I am a technology enthusiast. When I watched this video, I saw that you have skillful hands and extremely high creativity. Thank you.
just the first 30 seconds are mind blowing, no goofing around, no crazy music, no filler lines, just straight to the great ideas! thank you. subscribed
Agree. Great editing avoiding any boring bits, just clear close-ups and great real sounds.
Never seen a torque screw/bit driver before. Very cool uses of an angle grinder.
This makes it worth spending more money on a better performing tool, so many applications. Thank You.
Continuo a ripeterlo, uno dei miei 3 preferiti in assoluto. Elegante, preciso,semplice....favoloso!!!!
You have one of the most imaginative minds on any of the handyman TH-cam channels. I am amazed by just how insightful you are. Cheers from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
Genious. So much we can work with the grinder. Thank you for the brilliant ideas.
I thought this was going to be another video full of insanely dangerous hacks, but these are really interesting and inspiring (and not immediately deadly). I'll be watching for more videos like this!
I concur very well said sir
Very innovative, just be cautious with the high rpms of a grinder. 👍
the way you engineer these jigs is seriously impressive
Incredible craftsmanship. Wow.
A hack that is actually not a stupid design!!! I LOVE IT!!!
Thank you.
You do the job at very clever and clean way.
One of the best videos on this subject. But, I bet your freehand skills should be equally impressive
Excellent! Much respect. Thanks.
Totally AMAZING multipurpose devices built by this master, and show us how to make it ourselves. Japanese and German technologies have been my favorite for ions. Masutā-san, hontōniarigatōgozaimashita
Greetings from Slovakia. This is a really great inspirational reworked video. It is exactly what every do-it-yourselfer will welcome. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing with us your brilliance!
Im going to have to watch this when I'm not high lol make sure im not dreaming this, I have been looking for someone to make something like this for awhile want a belt sander but have no room in my shop thanks so much for the great video
Whoooosh! The sound of all my sanders going out the door, replaced by a speed controller for my angle grinder! Brilliant stuff, here!
you're gonna spend alot on replacement angle grinders though
@@darkracer1252definitely not at worse you will be replacing brushes more often.
please be so very careful adding anything to a grinder. A drill turns at about 600rpm, a lathe at about 1000rpm and a grinder at about 6000rpm. If something comes off it, it's gonna hurt
True. best get a rpm regulator for variable power speed. These universal motors do run both on dc & ac current.
My router and Dremel do 35,000 and I always use them on max. With a shifty plastic table that doesn't even take a clamp right... safety is expensive folks just know what can go wrong and how to avoid it or at least accept this project could cost everything like I do lol
@@makinnewcounts6676a router and a Dremel are both specifically designed to hold the bits at the speed they rotate. An angle grinder isn't. Safety is expensive, hospitalization is even more expensive. If you view safety that way you'll eventually enjoy the hospital the other way
@@craigmurrayauthor They also aren't being tasked with holding the same consumables or DIY devices as this grinder.
10:35 how is this device called? How much does it costs?
Most the ideas are incredibly dangerous... DO NOT DO ANY OF THIS! The rotational speed of a grinder is 6-10 times that of the usual tools being replaced here. Things fly off at VERY high velocity.
Yeah frankly these videos just trigger the algorithm by forcing conscionable professionals to comment on how dangerous this stuff is. Which makes them profitable. It's wrong, but it's how it is.
Very soothing and relaxing.
Outstanding thank you for all your work
Whaooo !!! Hello from France. Genial ! Une belle leçon de bricolage !!! Bravo !!!
Excelente video , muy instructivo. Te saludo desde Mar del Plata Argentina.
This is awesome! I love being able to turn my few tools into many using jigs! This is a great idea!
Somebody should sell that first one. For those of us without a metal shop. That is one handy, simple attachment.
Awesome. Thank you VERRY much. Perfect for my small workshop!!!
This is one of the first ones of these I've seen that actually has useful hacks. The speed would scare me, but other than that.. these seem solid!
in one of the clips you can see him using a speed controller for the angle grinder, that wiil slow it down to a useful speed for every task
Heres mi idolo... Gracias por compartir tus ideas
This is nothing short of brilliant - thank you!😊
A no no for all non technical people but seems he is reinforcing in just the right places
Speed, torque and rigidity
Awesome ideas. A nice alternative to buying multiple tools.
Very interesting. However, the grinder comes with a guard/shield for a reason and it is being removed in many instances to attach some of the fixtures. I would recommend that for any fixture addition you also add guarding or shielding to protect your hands, eyes, etc…
Yea i agree. Its all fun and games when everythings works. But when it fails..... still love the ideas. Its great thinking out side of the box.
One Angle grinder do a lot of job very good idea. I wish I can do one for my personal!
Really innovative and quality built jigs. Well done!
Bravissimo 🎩🎩🎩
This video is FANTASTIC!! Thank you soooo much for teaching us all these excellent techniques!
SIMPLEMENTE !! GENIAL!! / Simply GREAT!!
These should be the only allowed angle grinder hacks on youtube.
I’d give this comment a thumbs up but I watched and tried some of those other angle grinder tips. Actually maybe I would if you had any thumb reattachment videos that look good.
Of all of these style videos this was probably the only one I've watch that actually looked like it would potentially be useful
Aqui e Brasil muito prático e muito funsionais obrigado gratidão robista
That rolling shutter effect on the drill bits was pretty neat.
Veramente delle spettacolari idee complimenti continua sempre così 👍
Excellent video and idea. Make sure that longer machine screws (4) to compensate for the thickness of the plate are used.
Are you in a nice seaside place❓Relaxing for work❗
You make it look so easy!! You’ve got some serious skill!
Harıkasınız. Tek kelime ile üstad.
You are a very, VERY clever person. Great video.
Dear creator of this genius multiple versions of use angle grinder, please let me to congratulate you. I think I make some of them for me, i think that an angel grinder with rotation regulator is the best tool for those amazing versions of a.g use
For a reasonable outlay you have several tools in one . First rate video.
FUNK FPV has entered the chat. There you go!
Actually, these hacks look cool and safer, too!
Buen trabajo buenas ideas y buen video. Te felicito.
There is so many good woodworkers on TH-cam, but you... you are from another world!
I like how clean everything looks.
This is an excellent video with very helpful information, well done sir.

Criativo, preciso e bem executado.
Very cool use of a tool.... Seeing this I might even buy a grinder? Thanks
Cuando el trabajo se hace arte.... Y la imaginación funciona....
A dust extractor next please. Good engineering thank you.
Excelente. Tabalho de mestre, parabéns👍💯
@YASUHIRO TV
I love this, your videos always fills me with calm, a very unique ASMR experience.
Question: you being in Japan (I'm guessing), free space probably isn't really abundant so is your workshop located in your apartment?
you are really skillful and smart🤝💪
Some of these are excellent. Just be very cautious, especially with sanding belts, that you do not exceed their maximum rated RPM/travel speed.
Awesome work gives me so many ideas for my workshop
Amazing ideas! Thanks for the video!
inconfondibile disciplina
When I you have is hammer - everything else looks like a nail. Awesome video
Simply genious!
