    After some research, I decided & bought a pair of Under Armour Tribase Reign 6's over a pair of Nike Metcon 9s. Yesterday, I had my Back Day and man, everything that Jake said in the video was true. I did heavy conventional deadlifts (went up to 375lbs), elevated barbel rows and to check the potential of the shoe, I did 2 sets of barbell forward lunges. The shoe performed really well and been a great assert. With being comfortable and super supportive to lift heavy weights, this shoe stands in the Top 5 in CrossFit shoes. Thanks for this amazing review Jake! Cheers 🍻

    I have just bought these bad boys. I’ve seen all your reviews and comparisons related to the reign 6, thank you very much for your superb videos. Always super informative and entertaining. A half and a year ago I bought the Nike free Metcon 4 when I discovered your channel, and now that I wanted to try something different my first thought was to take a look at your videos to see the best options in 2024. The shoes are just perfect for my gym training and surprisingly comfortable for a walk around the city. Thank you again for your work man. God bless you. 😊

      @@thatfitfriend I tried both the Adidas Dropset 2 and the UA Reign 6. I honestly liked the UA shoe design and color choices more than the Dropset 2. However comfort is and always will be the priority over looks. I felt the Reign 6 has less volume ( and felt tighter) on the top part of my feet. I really wanted to like it, but I will pass. I know you can change the insole and whatnot. But I dont want to get into that. I want to buy the best feeling and comfortable shoes as is. Without messing around. the Nano X4 is yet to be out in my country. I am not in a rush, been using the Nano X3 for less than a year. Will wait for it to be released here to try it and then Decide between it and the Dropset 2.

      Potentially if you don't have a super thick/high-volume foot. If you do, then you may not have enough upper to lock the foot down. Do if you used the thinner Metcon 5 insoles with the insert in these, then you may be money!

    Your reviews and analysis are top notch brother, I'm getting this shoe for weightlifting and some plyometrics, I was going for the adidas dropset but it's not in stock in 10.5, not sure I should get size 10 but these UA Reign 6 seem to fit in size 10 if you with wide feet had some space left, in EU size I'm 45 and this ones is size 10=45, weird as some other shoes I'm 10.5, cloudflow 4 I'm good with 11 lol, I had clooudflow 2 and 10.5 was quite tight. thanks for the great review!!

    While the provided midsole on the Reign 6 is a great "jack-of-all-trades" solution, it would be awesome if UA released some different midsoles for these so we could customize the feel based on activity. I would love the ability to drop-in a more dense midsole for lifting, perhaps with a 6-7mm drop.

    Just tried it. What can I say. Really really solid shoes. Before my workout session I just measured my old metcons 7 and compared it to reign 6. Initial thought - Metcons are still good, even after 3 years of use and the upper grips feet very well, the feet feels safe and locked. Compared insoles - practically identical, but there is a bit more place for toes in reign 6. But Metcons has very stiff heel and the shoe can't be all-arounder because of it. What about the reign 6? The grip of the rubber sole is incredible, much better than metcons 7. The upper grip is good, but it does not lock feet as metcons to be fair. Did some back squats with 140kg - feels good, pretty stable, did some box jumping - works very nice, almost like basketball shoes. Will try on a treadmill, but I feel that's gonna be good, better than Nike Legend Essential 3 for sure. Thank you Jake for the recommendation, I'm really happy with my choice :)

    Your toes seem to overhang a bit on the sides of the insole. Does your big toe touch the side or the end of the shoe? I've been trying to avoid toe touch as much as possible when buying shoes, and doing so sometimes pushes me into the "too much volume" territory

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not really. Tbh, I don't always love doing the insole shot because it's not always reflective of true width when you consider upper and how the foot compresses when you put weight on it/take the overhead shot.

    I typically commute quite a long way in whatever shoes I'm training in. Can you suggest some good options for a good all-round lower drop shoe - ideally with some toe-spring - but that's max/decently waterproof!? I've enjoyed my NOBULL High-Top Trainers for that ask and they're easy to clean. Idk many other modern-day trainers that would hit that easy-to-clean/waterproof ask for you. STR/KE and RAD are my faves for casual wear, but def wouldn't deliver in inclement weather, imo

      There've been other shoes I've loved wearing - Including two pairs of RADs and two pairs of the older Reebok Speed TR Flexweave. I'm almost looking for a mid-point between those two tbh, with as much durability and weatherproofing as possible.
      The NoBulls - namely the Geo Court trainers (maybe the new Hightop version) - seem like they could fit the bill...
      Let me know your thoughts man 🤔 - it's super helpful! I'm thinking they're likely less 'harsh' than the OG Trainer - and I prefer their aesthetic over the Trainer+/Impact variants(??)

    They are quite snug and the laces are short as well.

    you have a wall of shoes behind you but only showed 1 color the entire video :/ and not even the same color as the thumbnail

      Bro, I buy all of the shoes I review unlike other reviewers who get everything for free and say they’re “unbiased”. I can’t afford to randomly buy a bunch of colors if I’m going to actually wear test these properly.
      If that’s your biggest complaint with this review, then I think we’ll live 😂

      Nope! If you replace drop in midsole with a thin insole they’re similar tho
