It's 2024 and we have more "wide" training shoes on the market than ever before which is fantastic for my wider-footed friends.
When discussing training shoes for wide feet, it's important to recognize that "wide" exists on a spectrum and what is wide for some may not be wide for everyone and companies define wide differently.
Hence why these videos can be tough to put together. To help you out, I picked 6 of my favorite training shoes for "wider feet".
    0:00 Wide Feet Intro
    0:16 Born Primitive Savage 1
    2:05 Adidas Dropset Trainer 2
    4:14 UA TriBase Reign 6
    6:44 VIKTOS Core Gym
    8:49 Topo Athletic ST-5
    10:59 Nike Metcon 9
    13:12 Reebok Nano 2.0
    14:38 Final Verdict
As training shoes continue to evolve, it's cool to see companies slowly make their core models a little wider.
Some shoes have wider anatomical toe boxes to accommodate toe splay while others have last that are wide through the toe box and midfoot.
Personally, I like to rotate barefoot shoes and training shoes so it's nice to have options that feel more seamless to my favorite barefoot shoes.
If you purposely seek out wide training shoes, I'm curious, what are your favorite models?

It's definitely has a better feel for traditional weight-lifting shoe and better flexibility. I felt I could do more dynamic movements in them too. Your recommendations are on point!

Hey Jake, thanks for for the amazing content you put out. I have been thoroughly enjoying it since I subscribed last year and purchased the Reebok Nano X3 online ! Without even trying and it was perfect.
I am now curious to try something different that is still comfortable with good width.. and perhaps lighter.
Since I have the Nano X3, I am curious to decide maybe between UA Tribase Reign 6 ( Just watched your video on it) or the Adidas dropset 2. Which I tried earlier today at the mall.. didn’t know about the UA model until I came back home and watched your video on it 😅…. Any thoughts ?

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

UA will technically be heavier but it doesn't feel that way on the feet. IMO, if you like the Dropset Trainer 2, then I'd rock those. They're sick shoes.
Reign is also solid, but they'll be just about as heavy as your Nano X3s!
      Thank you!

What do you recommend for someone with a 11.5 EEE foot?
I currently wear Nano X in 12.5 with the insole removed to have a wide enough shoe. I also have the TYR lifters in 12 (with the insole removed they are a pretty good fit for width and length). I would prefer something wide, light, and with a 4 mm drop.
I have a pair of Nano X1 in 12.5. They are barely wide enough if the insole is removed. I don't like the drop or the toe spring. They are fine for a walking around show though.

Jake, does Tennis shoes works for crosstrainning/crossfit (except rope climb, of course)?
Like those Asics. They should have a great stability and a bit of damping.
Every crossfit shoe I tried was unconfortable, usually hard as a rock.
Nano x2 was almost good, but my heel kept comming out and I dont feel safe with it. Tyr cxt 1 have a hard and thin sole (1 week using). Metcon 8 gave me plantar fasciitis. Not sure if i should try the Nano x3 or another kind of shoe for days with more aerobics and/or light wheigts.
