- Reconstructing a box built for 8 15s "Suburban/XL and making it fit in a normal size yukon/tahoe/Denali
I did this for a great buddy of mine, and I'm happy with how it turned out on just the small materials we had, I know I could have done way better on the box, but bass is bass and my buddy is happy with it.
with only a hour and a half of sleep, I'm glad I could have done this today, I am blessed to have the life I have

Your back right side sub is out of faze
Subs are out of phase. Address the issue before they blow
They aren't out of phase, it's the camera

@paulmorabito7040 I see what you are saying, but I can assure you that it's the camera, and also, this is just temporary, hopefully within the next few weeks he will have enough money for a better box, he just wanted to have something to listen to until then, but yeah, I watched the video's before posting them, but they are hooked up correctly, it's not easy with 8 speakers to 1 amp unfortunately
Also, I'm very surprised nobody else has said that
@paulmorabito7040 Wait a second, I'm glad you pointed that out, I just remembered, one sub smelled like burnt coil, and I bet that's the sub, and I was told to "install it" and I'm positive that is what it is 100%, but it is hooked up correctly though I can assure you, luckily he doesn't have enough battery to be able to play them loud, he maybe has 500 watts to them, if that
@paulmorabito7040 @porkchop7325 I just called my buddy and told him about that sub, the sub is most likely already toast, but for the deal that he got, you can't beat it, but the rest of the subs are fine though, I'll see if he wants me to recone it or not, and or when we build the new box, we only do 6 subs instead of 8 and keep one of them as a spare and one a paper weight

It really surprised me because he only has a 400 amp alt and a 100ah agm, and it kept clipping on him, but I'll get him right though soon, going to get him a 48AH spim bank like I have and get that system tuned correctly

That sub was on its way out the door lol, and my buddy doesn't have this setup anymore, just a small setup, he just wanted the box to fit and play for a little while, he's got the same subs but different box now on 2 8ks, only running 6 subs instead of 8

@laska4075 Honestly for just that 1 5k he had on it, it done pretty good, but he already knew it wasn't going to do a lot and that it was a rushed job and nothing serious, he was bass hungry and didn't have time to do it himself, so I called out of work and done it at his job site, which was awesome as hell to do 😂 I had like 30 guys watching me the whole time 🤣 and heck, check out my other videos of my build, just trying to make content and hopefully one day I'll get paid by youtube
Looking good bro. If you ever blow a sub, start upgrading the soft parts using a Deaf Bonce 3015r drop in. They fall right in like they're made for the xfls. I have a single xfl 12 in my work truck with 3012r parts and she's nasty. Really wakes the xfls up. All parts are on the db3012r cones are essentially an upgrade compared to the stock xfl parts.
Awesome I appreciate that, and I will let me buddy know, and I told him that he will be better off with 6 15s and keep the other 2 as spares, and if he blows any, I will definitely have him buy those recones
Should have bought a single nsv4 18” for that price strapped to the 5k I had same setup hitting 153 in suburban 9.3 cu ft 38 hz
He traded 3 cheap subs for that box and 8 15s, he got a hell of a deal, I couldn't believe it at all, but that guy wanted 18s though, and yeah, I know quite a few people running the nsv4 subs, Team Sundown almost everywhere

Exactly, my buddy called me at work and asked if I was free Saturday and I said yes I am, and when we kept talking I'm like, I can call out tomorrow and put time in and I can be there in the morning to get it done, he was super happy and I had so many people watching me cut the box up and get it all hooked up lol, bass is my favorite hobby besides working on vehicles and building stuff
Right rear subwoofer is out of phase..fix it ASAP cousin. It will sound better and you won't blow your amp or subs

I have true duals, 2 1/4 inch pipe all the way back to 6 inch tips, 5.3 and same thing on my Undertaker burban as well except I have 8 inch tips on it
Nah for sure atleast 2 are out of phase, the camera isnt going to make 2 move different than 8 😂 not hating, but the bottom drivers side sub and the verry back passenger sub are moving different from the other 8. Id tell him to get another amp (the same one) and run 4 on 1 and 4 on the other. Its easier to wire the subs and more output if he has the electrical to back it up. Id recheck the wiring on the subs then recheck again those other 6 will kill those 2
So the one in the back right is pretty much toast, and yeah, he has another amp but it's blown "For Now", and when I build his new box, we are going to do 6 subs and I'll have 3 wired to each amp, and like I told another guy, it's just content, we know it wasn't going to be good, it's just stuff slapped together and having a little bump 😂
I have one 9918 Dd on a jp63 amplifier and my subwoofer can still take more power You need a jp83 or a bass 15k taramps for those subwoofers
He will be doing 2 smart 5ks and 6 15s, this video was just something I slapped together in 4 hours for my buddy, he wanted a little bit of boom boom for now

What is the ohms load
This was for a buddy of mine, he just wanted some bump until he got his other box built and other amp fixed, I wired them to 2 ohm and then put them together on 1 amp, and it shouldn't be long and then after that, I believe he might get me to build his other box, and we will do 6 15s and keep 2 for spares, I will have 3 of them on each amp at 2.67 ohms, should bang pretty good
Need bigger amps
He will be running probably 2 8ks on 6 of these 15s

Yeah, one sub is pretty much blown and it's just content, my buddy already knows that, we are redoing everything soon, stay tuned and I've got much more stuff to come, car audio and non car audio stuff 😁
Youd be louder with only 3 of those subs on 5k watts... 5k for 8 subs man you can get way louder 😂
My buddy just wanted a little bump for now, it's not the best by any means, but he wanted a little thump, and I know the subs are out of phase, I know one had a bad coil smell and I believe another one might have as well, but the next video of his build, it'll hopefully be 2 amps and 6 subs, since I know 6 of them are good and it'll be easier to wire up 😅
Actually, cone area is king bro.... 8 15's on 5kw is going to be A LOT more output than 3 15's on 5kw. Give your head a shake.
@Undertaker_Bass_Ride I have six 12s in my caprice mt favorite combination so far , I have had 18s in alot of builds but I like my 18s in my house not my car 🤣🤣
@TheBullDr04 Man, I'd love to see that setup bro, I'm in the middle of a rebuild right now, and I have many videos that will be posted, shooting for mid 160s on 4 RS platinum 18s on 2 smart 5ks, I was around a 158db, but I have a actually design now and that should be my key to mid 60s
@reganmorben9248 kinda sorta really depends and how you want to compare something... lots of variables from brand power sensitivity, etc.
Lest say he had 8 15s of this same brand , same style box same amp, going to be a little closer to full power out put, there's a 3inch cone differents.. so hard to notice a sound differents. the 15s are going to be louder as they are less under powerd ... with out power to the speaker, you have no sound, so that's what it comes down to in the end. Something with more power will alwase be more powerful and loud. 15 and 18 sealed box in a close space will just seem louder to your years then it actually is because how much air is moving . We should scientifically test it all together in a video ? Match two good brands and see whats louder under what ever rules are made

@Everyone_Dies It's made out of MDF and it was left out in the rain, it has terrible water damage and is crumbling badly, but my buddy wanted some bass and that's what I gave him, but the rebuild will be so much better though, this is just temporary and hopefully he will do 6 15s and not 8, because I believe one is blown and or almost blown because I could smell the coil before I even installed it, and he can keep the other one as a spare
Sounds horrible your speakers are out of phase notice how the speakers move at different times and speeds not good do some research on how to fix that.
