    Oregon fans are happy to see a coach that says what he says and means it! After many defectors and one foot out the door coaches finally we have the great coach we needed. Hope he feels the love we have for him and his future at Oregon. Also very important is the hope his family feels like family at Oregon. Go Ducks forever!

      Kalen DeBoer was Alabama's choice back in October. The Washington AD knew something was up because he wouldn't sign his new contract months after he got it. All these "reports" are from Jimmy Sexton getting all his clients raises. He's the best agent in the business for a reason.

    • @manchetti8851
      @manchetti8851 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @zoam7881 The past 15 years or so Oregon has shown to be a stepping stone job for coaches so why suddenly is Lanning not stepping like everyone else has? To the undisputed number 1 job in the nation? Could be a few reasons including hes hoping to step to the nfl instead of another college program, or I'm operating under the assumption nike convinced him to stay and told him to get whatever players he needs and they'll take care of the financials one way or another. Nike and Phil knight have more power in the sports industry than anybody else anywhere in the country definitely over Texas am. I don't blame him if I was his age snd as rich as he is and wanted my Alma mater I care deeply about to win a national championship why wouldn't I spend a few million to make it happen? Can't take the money with him might as well use it while he's still here

    • @zoam7881
      @zoam7881 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @manchetti8851 Nike and PK are big reasons for sure, but look at average NIL for the 2024 class. Oregon is not out spending other top 10 teams. He has just started building something special, and he wants to finish the job. If he wins a natty at Oregon, it will be seen as his success. If he wins one at Alabama, it would just be picking up where Saban left off. Also, don't doubt that oil money at aTm. None as rich as PK, but it's more as a collective being put into football.

    • @manchetti8851
      @manchetti8851 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @zoam7881 I actually hope you are right about Lanning just being loyal and has faith in the foundation he's already laid but I can't think of a single example ever of any coach turning down the much bigger more powerful program exceptmaybe like eddie robinson. Even lincoln Riley did it and one could argue that was a lateral or lesser move football wise. Cristobal just did it to Oregon 3 years ago to go rebuild miami, to be fair it is his alma mater but still. Brian Kelly left Notre Dame which was probably his dream job as an Irishman football coach so I have a hard time believing 35 year old 2nd year head coach Dan Lanning turned down the most prestigious college coaching job in history to stay at a historically 2nd tier program all the way up in the pacific northwest to "finish what he started" but if he did then good for him that says alot about his character

    • @zoam7881
      @zoam7881 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @manchetti8851 Kyle Whittingham at Utah. He could make more money elsewhere, but he is committed. I agree it's rare, but Oregon really has been one of the top programs of this century. I think they are #7 in wins since 2000. Clearly the best program without a championship. The best facilities in the country doesn't hurt either.

He has been a head coach for only 2 years and he won a national championship at Georgia as a defensive coordinator and Nick Saben said himself he was going to offer Lanning the defensive coordinator job but Kirby Smart asked him right before he could..
