Lanning said "rooted in substance" -- he didn't say he and Oregon wouldn't _use_ social media, he said at the time that Colorado was _nothing but_ clicks.

What Lanning is building at Oregon is going to be feared for a long time, if you don’t believe that you just don’t like Oregon or have half a brain, he took that defense from 85 to 9 in one season, best recruiting class in school history

VERY smart move by Lanning! NOBODY wants to follow Saban! Bama wasn’t “Bama” as we’ve known it the last 17 years until Saban got there! He built them back up into a monster powerhouse! Now nobody cares about anybody. Also, I know Alabama is the best job in the country but it still shocks me when someone is surprised that someone would want to coach at Oregon.

Anyone that is surprised that Dan Lanning turned down the job, doesn't know Dan Lanning. Phil Knight has his pockets stuffed full of money, Oregon has the top rated facilities, his wife likes it here, his kids like it here. Coach is tired of moving. He's already been to Alabama, nice but it's no Eugene. People who never leave home are surprised, but Dan Lanning has made Eugene home and would you all stop comparing him to coaches that went to other universities? Skip Kelly is cursed, Willie Taggert is cursed and Mario Cristobal is cursed. If they keep their jobs, they'll never win their conference.

I hated how the season played out losing to Washington twice and having to play such an underwhelming team. What I don’t understand is why Alabama is considered the “Golden Job”. Yes, they have the necessary pieces in place in order to make a good run. But this is BAMA, you can’t just make a good run, you have to go for gold every season and anything short of that is a down year. Whoever the next HC is, if they don’t make the natty next year, that guy is probably gonna get canned just due to the incredibly high expectations set by the GOAT. I can't predict how many losses Oregon will have in the B1G. BUT, I will say that a lot of Oregon fans are underestimating the B1G competition. Every team is physical and the coaches in the B1G are really good. Oregon must have 3-deep quality depth to succeed. Oregon is not going to have a cakewalk as many Oregon fans believe.

I don’t know any Oregon fans who think it a cakewalk. We do think the Ducks can be competitive because their record against the Big10 in the last 10 years is favorable. Wins against several of the top teams, some in their house even.

@@georgesealy4706oh please The big 10 has 2 elite teams and that’s it. Oregons only real competition is Ohio State and Michigan everyone else on their schedule doesn’t have the talent to compete with Oregon. Do you really think Oregon is going to have a hard time with Purdue, Maryland, Illinois and MSU hell even Wisconsin 😂

@@Oregonman2011 Yes. The reason is that it adds up. The B1G takes its toll over the season. All of the teams are physical and guys go down. At the same time, the coaching is excellent. By midseason, teams are banged up. Some starters are out. Oregon has to play Michigan, Ohio State, and Washington in 2024. All physical teams. You have to play Wisconsin in Camp Randall late in the season against big farm boys who like to hurt people. That is a difficult place to play for any team. Wisconsin is a team on the way up with second-year Luke Fikell as coach. I expect them to be hugely improved. Oregon also has to go to Purdue to play. Purdue is always a trap game, especially in West Lafayette. You play OSU the week before, and then think that Purdue is easy. Wrong. Purdue is sneaky good with the offense they have. They don't go down easy and are good for an upset per year. Maryland took Michigan well into the fourth quarter this year before losing. Maryland had a good chance to beat them. Maryland is improving every year with money and new facilities being built. Oregon is not playing in the soft PAC-12 where teams play flag football.

Thank God what's has he done? He is not and will never ever be good enough to be a bama coach. There is really no expectations at oregon lol. At bama they expect titles. Go ahead and stay at Oregon. I guarantee he will never win the chip. That's a promise.
