Lanning said "rooted in substance" -- he didn't say he and Oregon wouldn't _use_ social media, he said at the time that Colorado was _nothing but_ clicks.
Dan turning this noise into a recruitment video is what we like to call a pro gamer move. What a legend. #GoDucks 🦆🦆🦆
Y’all are gonna go 12-2 next season
@@Mistawiskas okay. Id definitely take that!
@@Mistawiskasnot bad for first time in Big10 😊
@@Mistawiskas ill take it that will get us in the playoffs

After all our coaches leaving for their dream jobs Dan has chance to go to Alabama every coaches dream and he stays put. Love this guy love his character. All our coaching issues the last few years well worth it to end up with Dan. Love this guy so much more now.
This WILL eventually win Oregon a national championship
Lol we both know that will never happen. Keep dreaming. It does t matter if bama get the worst coach. We still have more success in with saban than oregon Will have for all time.
2000 3-8. 2003 4-9. 2004 6-6. 2006 6-7. 2007 7-6. Seems to me, I remember Bama had some pretty lean years before the Goat came to save ya"ll.@@jhard8789
@@jhard8789nobody here said they compared. It’s Oregon showing up. You must be from Alabama. Also looks like your mom is your aunt.
@@malcolnin you do realize the video is about dan not going to bama? So yes it is without a doubt comparing alabama to Oregon.
@@malcolnin oh nice one lol dude get some new jokes. Everyone has said or heard that dumb sh1t before.
What Lanning is building at Oregon is going to be feared for a long time, if you don’t believe that you just don’t like Oregon or have half a brain, he took that defense from 85 to 9 in one season, best recruiting class in school history
VERY smart move by Lanning! NOBODY wants to follow Saban! Bama wasn’t “Bama” as we’ve known it the last 17 years until Saban got there! He built them back up into a monster powerhouse! Lanning wants to do the same thing here and has ALL the $$ and resources he could ever want to do just that! He’s a man of his word and he is now an Oregon legend!!!
All these people “surprised” that Lanning is staying here in Eugene obviously have never been to Eugene or anywhere in Oregon.
Cristobal and taggart left. But Dan is white and theres plenty of those people here. I love it here.
@@JanoyCresva mario is white
Honestly, it kinda sucks that people are surprised when someone stays loyal. Different world we've been living in the past decade+. Used to be back in the day where people had loyalty. Now nobody cares about anybody. Also, I know Alabama is the best job in the country but it still shocks me when someone is surprised that someone would want to coach at Oregon.
"In Lanning We Trust"
Let's Go Ducks!
As an Oregon fan, even I'm shocked that Dan Lanning withdrew his name from consideration for the 'Bama job, but at the same time I'm extremely happy and relieved that he's staying with the Ducks.
I am absolutely thrilled. If Lanning isn't willing to leave Oregon for Alabama, then it's safe to say that he's here to stay. We've finally found our coach.
Go Ducks!!! The SEC bias doesn't understand why Oregon is such a great program.
Oregon isnt a great program lmao. 0 natties last time a checked. Penn St 2.0
Oregon has way more NIL money...
Nobody should be surprised. Dan Lanning is a word of his man He wants to be here for a very long time!
Honesty and Loyalty is the greatest wealth in life
Eugene, Oregon is a great place to live, and as a football location, it has a lot of advantages even though the state produces few top recruits. If he wouldn't take the Alabama job, he won't take any others.
With a national brand like Oregon, combined with the fact that it’s in an amazing and beautiful state like Oregon, they don’t need to worry about not having a lot of people in state to recruit…they can go anywhere (and have) to get his dudes! He’s left, a man of his word, and a man of honor! GREAT day to be a Duck!!! 🦆
depends where in eugene. its nice around the oregon campus but the rest of it is pretty trash
The south hills neighborhoods are good too. Dan or any UO coach can pick his neighborhood.
the south hills area is nice too. The great majority of the rest is very habitable
@@whatlol_e with his $$ he can live anywhere he wants! He can build a mansion on 40 acres along the Mackenzie and live like a king!!!
Regarding the coaching hires from 2022 report card? I get that the recruiting is not at Oregon's level, but how is Kalen Deboer not at least As? Bizzaro...coming from an Oregon fan..
Leger Douzable, Lanning's statement was about winning on the football field and not boasting on social media about what you haven't done.
All those dang people saying lanning was in Tuscaloosa. Shame on them for the heart attacks and anxiety attacks they gave us. This our coach, go find your own
No one wants to fill those shoes, you'll be on the hot seat every year, anything less than a championship every other year isn't good enough... Lanning has built something special in Eugene. Even if he only wins 1 championship U of O will build a statue in his honor
Anyone that is surprised that Dan Lanning turned down the job, doesn't know Dan Lanning. Phil Knight has his pockets stuffed full of money, Oregon has the top rated facilities, his wife likes it here, his kids like it here. Coach is tired of moving. He's already been to Alabama, nice but it's no Eugene. People who never leave home are surprised, but Dan Lanning has made Eugene home and would you all stop comparing him to coaches that went to other universities? Skip Kelly is cursed, Willie Taggert is cursed and Mario Cristobal is cursed. If they keep their jobs, they'll never win their conference.
Smart chice for Lanning. Stay at Oregon and be the KING or go to Alabama and live in the shadow of Saban, not to mention the Saban statue in front of the stadium. 😅
A name that nobody ever mentions. Kyle Whittingham does more with less at Utah.
Best decision he could ever make.
Smart man. Unless Lanning did something exceptional year after year, he would always be second fiddle and compared to Saban. Lanning can establish his own legacy at Oregon. Alabama fans will be comparing their current coach to Saban for the next 10-15 years. It's not fair, but that is human nature.
I hated how the season played out losing to Washington twice and having to play such an underwhelming team. But I’m satisfied that Lanning kept it real by staying on in the wake of Saban retiring, and the fact that DeBoer will leave the Huskies for Tuscaloosa instead, even after a loss in the national championship, makes it the best offseason I’ve seen for my ducks! 🦆
Lanning was bamas first choice. Not a great look going to second third choice. I hope they get kiffin. He’ll destroy bama faster than any other coach.
Hmmm. . . don't know about that. So far, Kiffin has been a successful coach.
I dont see Alabama being the golden position . Saban is just the first of many that will jump ship.
Lol, you think he jumped ship
“Rooted In Substance, Not Flash!!!”🦆🏆
Everyone wants our coach and you can't have him
IF BAMA has their HC . . . . What's the hold-up for the announcement . . .
They don’t bc nobody wants that job. Bama fans are delusional in thinking it’s such a dream job. 6-6 before saban
Alabama is a destination job but so is Oregon. He has all the resources he needs with Nike at his back and a stacked roster going into the B1G. It would be more memorable to lead Oregon to a first title than Bamas 20th or however many they have in the closet.
Unfortunately SEC folk don't seem to understand anything outside the south.
Then Bama beat you in the playoffs 😂😂😂
Bama won’t make the playoffs to many more times if any. 6-6 before saban and will return to that level
@@universeoflife1035Neither will Oregon, not in the big10!!
@@MerlinsWandOregon will automatically be a top 3 team in the Big 10 you don’t even believe that crap you just spewed 😂
As he should!
With the changing of landscape in CFB, maybe Alabama isn't as "golden" a job as you think in comparison to 5-10 other programs as well.
Oregon is a Golden Job . . . . and NOW a Destination JOB . . . . . Go DUCKS!
Smh 🤦. Nobody wants to live in Oregon
@@di114n2keep telling people that please. We don’t want you here anyway.
@@di114n2you don’t know what you’re talking about
It is a wonderful place to live - except in urban Portland currently. Even central Portland was great until a few years ago.
@@ODUCKSFAN1 Portland Oregon . I’ve seen Plenty of what goes on in that state . Open drug markets and rains every day . Sounds like a great place to live stepping on syringes just walking your dog
What I don’t understand is why Alabama is considered the “Golden Job”. Yes, they have the necessary pieces in place in order to make a good run. But this is BAMA, you can’t just make a good run, you have to go for gold every season and anything short of that is a down year. Whoever the next HC is, if they don’t make the natty next year, that guy is probably gonna get canned just due to the incredibly high expectations set by the GOAT. To me, building your own program sounds like a lot better job
Buying a 17 million dollar home in Florida might be a good indication he was seriously considering retiring
Nick Saban also said he wasn’t gonna be the coach at Alabama
Super strange to announce your staying at your school, when you haven’t even been contacted by another school.
lol, this makes me think Dan is the next Bama coach. What did Saban say about the dolphins?
you don't want to the the one after a legend...
Saban to ESPN, probably at some point will replace Corso
Lanning knows better than to follow the G.O.A.T. That pressure could end careers!!
It's funny how these sports shows think Alabama is better than Texas. It's disrespectful.
I don’t think the job was offered to Lanning he just said he was not leaving Oregon and the siteings😢 of Lanning in Tuscaloosa are not true so probaly no offer
Watch all the AL players hit the Portal and come to the Ducks
well, Dan must be taking the job... Sark said he would not be leaving Washington 48 hours before he took the job at USC.- OR HE WAS NEVER OFFERED THE JOB!!!!!
If you think hes leaving you're wrong
Duh, the point is, he was never offered, he's a duck, without Phil Knights money, the Ducks are nothing... with his money, they're still the bottom level of the western big 10@@officialtoastyy
Following up being Saban is NO GUARANTEE of success. Before Saban, Alabama had like 1 championship in 30 years.
If norvelle leaves fsu, the program will be devastated and I really hope he doesn’t
He ain’t Deion
Heck send some roll tide staff coaches too😂
He’s not going to go until the expectations are way lower, whoever follows nick is a fool no coach is leaving their school to go to bama now maybe in 5 years but not now.
Ryan Grubb is the guy
Did anyone really think he was leaving?! Sorry bama your going to get a young up n coming coach. Your best bet for a big name coach is maybe Pete Carroll.
Who says he was even offered?
Definitely making Lemonade out of lemons. If Alabama wanted Dan Lanning - Alabama gets Dan Lanning - in the end they didn’t want him.
Dan......it isn't....everyday Alabama calls! Dan ....u take Alabama job cuz....it is the Pinnacle of college. Don't get it twisted!
Dan is a southern guy?! Dudes from Missouri... Y'all just report garbage
Go Get Ln., Kiffin
Lanning is waiting for the Michigan job if they come and call; in any case, will Harbaugh decide to bounce to the
Happy New Year, & Always, HAIL TO THE VICTORS, GOBLUE🏆!!!!!
No he isn’t, but DeBoer might be. Lanning has a better situation here than he’d have at Michigan.
Go Ducks 🦆 🎉😊😊😊.
Oh Yes You Know What That Means Back to the Dark Decade.
Theres a good chance that some really great Bama players could flip and come to Oregon
I think bama is looking for a bigger name.
I wouldn’t be surprised if DeBoer turns it down. GoooooooDucks!!!!!
WHy would he? UW aint a great job. He's going to be out recruited by Oregon, tosu, and michigan every year.
@@JanoyCresvawell that’s how you see it and I agree but he did just play in a National tittle game and he does seem to have built culture similar to Oregons but Oregon is farther along. It’s not what we think it’s what he thinks that matters In this instance.
He will go to the NFL before he goes to another college.
It's a whole new world in college football with NIL money and the transfer portal.
And Nike has more money than the entire state of Alabama.
I'd stay too.....
First Congrats to Nick Saban, now who replaces him?? good luck with that one, what coach wants to follow a 7 time National Championship Coach?? I am guessing the domino effect will be massive in college football but that is why we ALL love college football. FYI am a Boomer Sooner fan. BTW in November 2024 when BAMA visits OU it will be 10 years yes 10 years the last time OU BEAT BAMA...let that sink in. HAPPY RETIREMENT COACH NICK SABAN. BTW think back when OU beat ALABAMA, BAMA had 3 different coaches go do some research. Best of LUCK BAMA FANS...
Bama wasn’t the golden job before Saban and know that he’s gone it’s not the golden job again. Watch what happens to bama now that Saban is gone. Don’t be surprised if they revert to a mid level sec program for a couple years.
😂 Keep dreaming.
Lol
@@Maverick_682come back February of next year after you can’t find a good coach and are 9-3 at seasons end. We have got to be real here. What the hell does bama have to offer other coaches that these other top schools don’t. It’s not money, it’s not location, what the hell do they truly have to offer? A bunch of angry inbred fans that have no life outside their bama cult? Saban made bama relevant again, and without him They’re done
How many times do coaches say they are not leaving and then turn around and leave. Nick Saban said the same thing at Miami. Lol
We’ll see. Money talks and Alabama has a lot of it to spend. At least the boosters do.
This analysis if full of "butt hurt" and chest puffing. #GoDucks 🦆🦆🦆
If Alabama wanted Lanning, they would have had Lanning. He was just a bargaining chip for Sexton, who had already decided DeBoer was the guy. After all, DeBoer is 3 - 0 against Lanning. Why would Bama go with a loser who can't win a big game, no matter how much Phil Knight money is behind him?
😂😂 why are they so but hurt
Oregon will have at least four losses next year in Big 10!! It’s the big boy league now!!
I can't predict how many losses Oregon will have in the B1G. BUT, I will say that a lot of Oregon fans are underestimating the B1G competition. Every team is physical and the coaches in the B1G are really good. Oregon must have 3-deep quality depth to succeed. Oregon is not going to have a cakewalk as many Oregon fans believe.
I don’t know any Oregon fans who think it a cakewalk. We do think the Ducks can be competitive because their record against the Big10 in the last 10 years is favorable. Wins against several of the top teams, some in their house even.
@@georgesealy4706oh please The big 10 has 2 elite teams and that’s it. Oregons only real competition is Ohio State and Michigan everyone else on their schedule doesn’t have the talent to compete with Oregon. Do you really think Oregon is going to have a hard time with Purdue, Maryland, Illinois and MSU hell even Wisconsin 😂
@@Oregonman2011 Yes. The reason is that it adds up. The B1G takes its toll over the season. All of the teams are physical and guys go down. At the same time, the coaching is excellent. By midseason, teams are banged up. Some starters are out. Oregon has to play Michigan, Ohio State, and Washington in 2024. All physical teams. You have to play Wisconsin in Camp Randall late in the season against big farm boys who like to hurt people. That is a difficult place to play for any team. Wisconsin is a team on the way up with second-year Luke Fikell as coach. I expect them to be hugely improved. Oregon also has to go to Purdue to play. Purdue is always a trap game, especially in West Lafayette. You play OSU the week before, and then think that Purdue is easy. Wrong. Purdue is sneaky good with the offense they have. They don't go down easy and are good for an upset per year. Maryland took Michigan well into the fourth quarter this year before losing. Maryland had a good chance to beat them. Maryland is improving every year with money and new facilities being built. Oregon is not playing in the soft PAC-12 where teams play flag football.
Thank God what's has he done? He is not and will never ever be good enough to be a bama coach. There is really no expectations at oregon lol. At bama they expect titles. Go ahead and stay at Oregon. I guarantee he will never win the chip. That's a promise.
When you call it the chip or the natty it does not sound so clever..
@@gymnoise and? The outcome is still the same. Unlike you idc if I sound clever or not. My point is still proven lol. Just enjoy living with your parents and acting like life is hard. Now stfu lol
