The craziest thing to me was crusaders and blue devils lots were right next to eachother, and no one was watching bd while pretty much the entire crowd was at crusaders. Idk if this is a normal thing in the past couple years but I’ve never seen bd crowd so small before
The snare line is amazing (don't get me wrong), but the bass line mirroring almost every note in a phrase makes them sound un-freaking-believable. Something I've noticed the last few years with BAC

I absolutely love Boston again this year for the same reasons I have the previous two. That said, I definitely enjoyed the previous two years' writing more than this year's. While their lot videos have always been deadly clean, it seems from my experience watching them at Finals the past two years they've had difficulty maintaining that cleanliness on the field. I haven't seen much of this year's show on the field but will be seeing them at Finals. Super excited for them and would love for them to take the drum trophy if they earn it!
15:06 this! Which is partly ironic cause one of the snares aging out was in cadets 2022 and he was one of the ones getting shit for the faces being made while playing lmao
This may not be the final count, but last I heard Crown (18) had most former Cadets followed by SCV (15) and then BAC (10). This could be a few low for each corps since this information is as of mid-March 2024.
Love me some stone-faced assassins. The music and movement are entirely capable of producing the effect. Selling it w/the face becomes condescending real quick.
and Brandon Olander played a bunch of them in his I&E solo that year th-cam.com/video/ASXQcSvGDG4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9N7zx_PZNjmR5of7&t=190. Maybe he started it!
Sanford is up in the air this year not like last year where it was the Cavies to lose and of course they didn’t. Drums will go between Boston, BD, SCV, Crown, or who knows? Fantini’s BlueCoats! BLOO!
How is Boston being undefeated in drums so far this different from Cavies being undefeated last year. I can’t see anyone beating Boston in drums this year.
Correct, Boston Crusaders drums are undefeated to date. And from watching the performers’ maturity and seriousness in practice, I’m thinking they will continue the trend.
I would caution the wonderful commentators to apply the same level of criticism to some of the other lines they mentioned in this video. Also the tuning of Boston’s snare line is so crisp they are super exposed so that effects a little fly you might hear, their rolls and three and four on a hand during a roll is something I am not seeing other lines playing. Also some of the other excellent lines get sloppy on the tutti hits. In that video Biston sounded very tight on ensemble hits perhaps more so than most others . Thanks for the breakdown of some of what they are playing.
I’m going Boston to win the Sanford in 2024 based on Atlanta performance and if they maintain through Allentown and all three nights in Indianapolis. It’s Boston’s to lose for me.
Yeah Colin’s not a big bass feature guy at all lol Which is a shame because under every crazy thing the snare and tenors are playing the basses are splitting it note for note and it’s nails
I really like how the basses are continuing the Cadets tradition at the end
What do they do?
Bass 1, 3, and 5 lean back with knee raised, 2 and 4 lean down@@ThatQuadDrummer
@@adumbusername1440 ohhhhhh i think i saw some other basslines do that this year...
As crazy as the tenors and snares play, and the bassline is just going ham under all of it. The complimentary play is so tasty.

As far as I remember BD 15 was the first group to really throw down those 4s at the of a roll.

ANOTHER TJ BANGER
Cam is just dead ass not gonna count huh 🤣🤣 She’s just staring into space like “nah I’m good” 😂😂
How old is Cammie? I think this is her... 2nd or 3rd year marching boston... I know she was the center snare for MCM this past year but still
@@ThatQuadDrummer probably 21 if I had to guess. I follow her on IG though
Unfortunately, it's "age-out" for Cammi. She is an outstanding snare!!!☺

How low can the rolls go?!
love the HB5 visual that they throw in at the end
A comment for the code!
Bad lighting will make any camera look potato
Now yall are coming after my lighting

writing still isn't as good as SCV imo
