Those remotes in that kit look modern and way better looking than the original factory ones. I couldn’t imagine owning a NSX and have to use the key in the door to lock/unlock it. Now your wife doesn’t have to. Great upgrade and Valentine’s present that she will enjoy every time she drives the NSX. 👍
Thanks for the video! I’ve tossed the idea of purchasing one of these for a while. I might just grab one while I have my dash apart for an instrument Custer refresh and throw it in whole the driver side is already apart.
Yeah, at that point you're well over half way with respect to wrench time. If not for filming and needing to go grab some t-taps it would've been maybe a 2hr job taking my time.
Keyless? You were pressing the button on the key. I thought keyless entry means a sensor under the handle and not touching the key, hence keyless. That's how I've always seen keyless entry refer to. The system you put in is "remote central locking" instead, surely? Nice job though, wouldn't be able to tell it didn't come with that. My car, being a modern shitbox, sets the alarm off if I have the audacity to use my key as a key instead of unlocking remotely, which is annoying.
I can see the terminology confusion there with the way a modern car's key is basically the same form factor as these key fobs. Most 1st gen NSXs will require you to physically insert a key blade into the lock cylinder on the door to lock/unlock the doors. So, in that context, this is "keyless" vs. the alternative 😁
Installed this kit on mine a few months ago. Wired both the trunk and lights as well. Works great!
One of the best installation videos. Awesome stuff.
Way easier than I expected. Probably because I was remembering all of the janky wiring I had to clean up on my car back in the day.

I’m sure Liz is glad that she doesn’t have to perform the NSX Prayer position. 😂
Let's be honest though, that WOULD have been a better thumbnail 😅
Installed this a while back to replace the OEM unit. Love it. I didn’t install the trunk release tho.

Nice filming at the end, she either be happy or you had proof of Liz murdering you 😅
Luckily I'm still here 😅
Those are nice looking remotes. I wish they made those for the S2000. The factory ones look cheap.
Yeah, her comment was that they're nice and thin (Women's pockets and all) while having enough weight that they don't feel fragile.
