      The Nicene Creed says,
“God from God, Light from Light,
      true God from true God,
      begotten, not made,
of one being with the Father.”
      Let’s make it clear.
The direct and literal meaning of “God from God” is: God proceeds from God.
That is, God created Himself, because He proceeds from God.
He proceeds from God, but is God too.
Doesn’t it mean that God is from God?
That is, God created Himself, which is definitely a wrong interpretation.
There must be a profound meaning in this verse, rather than just what it says.
      What it really means is:
At a certain point many lifetimes ago, the Christ was begotten of the Father - that is, “God from God”.
Through practice in many lifetimes, He has eradicated all sins and sinful nature, fully restored divinity and spirituality, and become one with God. So He is God.

Do you know how hard it is to make my 6th-grade students understand Nicene and Apostles Creed? Very hard but because of this video I understood the tenets and it helped me a lot in teaching my studs! Fr. Brad, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I became a catholic back in March and the one thing I struggle with during Mass is the Nicene Creed. I feel guilty when I have to bring out my little mass helper leaflet to read it. Thank you for saying you need it written down in front of you too. That makes me feel a little less guilty about not knowning it by now. God bless you.

    Good Afternoon Father Brad;
I loved your talk on the Creed. God bless you and your great work. I did finally mail out your hand-made-just-for-you Rosary and I expect you will receive it by Tuesday. Though you live in Albany, apparently your mail lives in Hammond until it is delivered to you. We figured that out. Hope your day is great: hope the Saints win too. Patrick

I say the Nicene Creed every time I say thee Rosary 📿. I dislike the Apostles Creed because it doesn't really say what I believe, it's too general.

Pontius Pilate was actually a good person it was the governor’s custom each year during the Passover celebration to release one prisoner to the crowd-anyone they wanted. actually found Jesus innocent and wanted him released but people said no because it was in their power of the crowd he even washed his hands afterto show that He refused to take responsibility for his death because it wasn’t in his power

Hold on, which was the original wording? Was it that the holy spirit proceeds from the father and the son, or was it from the farther alone? What was the original, you kinda just kept it moving.

Hi Father, I'm currently taking the RCIA class, and if everything goes well, God willing, I'll be baptized by passover. I have a question, it might sound stupid or counterintuitive, but here it is. are all the catholic church teachings captured in the Nicene creed? in other words, can I get baptized if I believe what is written in the Nicene creed even though I struggle to believe other church's teachings such as Mary's immaculate conception and assumption to heaven? I do believe the catholic church is the church Jesus founded and entrusted to carry on his teachings, so I'm conflicting.

Father, why do Catholics in North America, add “ born of the father before all ages “, being born can mean created, which is contrary to our understanding of Jesus being eternal ?

In fact, originally the Christ should have sinful nature, but eventually eradicated it through practice. Why?
Because according to the Nicene Creed, at a certain point many lifetimes ago, the Christ was begotten of the Father.
Till many lifetimes later did God send Him to save mankind as the Savior.
    This is a fact.
But why did God beget the Christ many lifetimes ago, but send Him to be the Savior many lifetimes later?
Because the Christ was initially sinful and unprepared. He needed time to practice.
If the Christ was initially sinless and didn’t need practice, then there’s no need for God to beget Him at that certain point many lifetimes ago.
God can simply beget Him 2000 years ago when mankind needed to be saved, and then directly send Him to save mankind.
    Does it make sense?

I have Compassion for Pontius Pilot because he did try to free Jesus but the Pharisees hardened his heart. God‘s plan was for Jesus to die on the cross for our sins.

The PISTEVO (Creed) was all done in Greek, why are you relying on the Latin! Also, the Holy Spirit proceeds from The Father, *NOT* the Son, that's what the faith is. Once you change that, you rebuke The Holy Trinity.
