When Wendy's came out it was an upgrade from Burger king and McD's. The fact that it wasn't a frozen patty made a difference and the frosty was different. Haven't eaten at McD's since August 1975 when I bit into a big mac and hit a bone; my tooth broke. McD's staff said I couldn't prove it was McD's fault. I told them I'd never eat at McD's again. So I haven't all this time. I'm reminded every time I have to have the crown replaced.
I once picked up a quarter pounder at the McD’s drive-thru. Got home, opened it up - and there was a perfect big semi-circular bite taken out of it. I was so pissed I zoomed back, stomped in, yelled at the manager and made her give me my money back.
They are also the ones who made a laughing stock out of the grandma who when she tried to put sugar in her coffee spilled it down her thighs and got third degree burns. The lady just wanted to keep someone like a child from getting burned at first. When McD's doubled down and wouldn't do anything she then took them to court- thanks to that she was known as the woman who sued over coffee. They had no shame because she won and it hurt their bottom dollar!
Wendy's also has a Great Chili. It's abit sweet and goes great with Wendy's fries... Very mild so even the little one can try it! Originally, Wendy's Frosty only came in Chocolate.
You know what’s crazy? In the late 1980s Wendy’s started having all-you-can-eat pasta and salad bars. I downed a lot of cheap carbs at those places. That’s long gone but to this day Wendy’s has good salads, one of my favorite spots when on a road trip since I avoid wheat these days.
Interesting. I was born in the 80s, and we didn't eat out much. I don't remember that, but my parents preferred Wendy's, so we did eat there on occasion. I'm not crazy about Wendy's burgers, but I love Wendy's Spicy chicken "sandwich". Wendy's fries are trash also. Calling a chicken sandwich a burger is weird to me. We call hamburgers, burgers because it's made of Hamburger.

Wendy’s is my favorite fast food burger joint. I even like it more than In-N-Out. Their patties are always so beefy and juicy, and they’re always open later than most places. I also appreciate their density in the U.S. rivals that of McDonald’s so I’m always close to one wherever I travel. For the price and for the quality of the food, it’s literally the best value burger in the business. And their loyalty app isn’t bad either. I get free or heavily discounted food all the time. Plus a redhead for a logo is a winner in my book. Lol

The Frosty is 100% better to devour as soon as you get them, yours looked really melted. The best thing about the Frosty is the smooth thick cold texture. I hope you guys did not see anything to shocking while here. lol…H family, I’ve really enjoyed you guys visit to the US, hurry back soon!
My first job besides babysitting was in 1974 at a brand new Wendy's. I had never even heard of it. We had the single, double and tripple burgers, chili, fries and chocolate frosty's. All the chicken, salads, baked potatoes etc.. came long after I was gone. I really like their chicken apple salad and strawberry lemonade. The fries are better now too.
The first time I ate at Wendy's was just a few years later. 16 August 1977. We day-tripped to visit family over in Bellefontaine (Ohio) and were told that one of my cousins was working the drive-thru window over at Wendy's, so we bopped over to surprise her and say howdy. After pulling away from the window, my brother and sister started playing around with a ketchup packet and ended up popping it open and the contents landed in my lap -- on my white Wrangler jeans! By the time we got home, the big news everywhere was about Elvis Presley.

Haha Wendy's is that one fast food joint that's got a loaded menu but I only every get the same 2 items when I go there. A Double Stack (Double Cheeseburger) and fries.
I like to eat potato chips with ice cream. It's the combo with salt that makes it good. My Mom used to give us chips and ice cream when we had a sore throat. BabyH was cute as always.
My go-to order at Wendy's is the Spicy Asiago Ranch Chicken Club. They also have some fantastic salads. And I definitely prefer the Vanilla Frosty with my fries.
I don't know if it's available nation wide, but in Charlotte NC, Wendy's offers a Carolina Classic burger. It's a single patty burger with slaw and chili.
Wendy's just came out with a strawberry Frosty. I actually like it better than the chocolate & vanilla one. It's only here for the Summer though. Bummed for you, that you are missing it. ☹️. I think Elana gives the Frosty a 10/10. 😉
The chocolate Frosty, while tasty for what it is, never had enough chocolate flavor for me to consider it truly chocolate. The strawberry Frosty is terrific for somebody like me that retains enough of my childhood to still enjoy Strawberry Nesquik in milk. Once in a while. But that vanilla Frosty tastes so much like what I've had in the past that resulted from attempts to make home-made ice cream -- it's the best Frosty, to my particular taste.

I'm from Virginia and I have never once seen or heard anyone putting fries in a frosty. Wendy's is a shell of what it once was. Back in the 80s the burgers were so greasy they would drop on the table. So good times.
I have two stories about Wendy's from my childhood. 1) I had reached my growth spurt at an early age that a basic kid's meal wasn't enough. My mom had noticed that and decided to upgrade it to adult meal and eventually ended up going to a double patty for my burgers. 2) There was at one point a pull tag on the back of their fries box that my younger sister and I collected a lot of them. We didn't know until one lazy Saturday, we were watching the TV and then a Wendy's add came on. It showed why there was that pull tag was for free frosties. The whole time, people were saying "We won!" for some of it. My sister and I both looked at each other and said "We won" at the same time. Man we had a ton of the OG chocolate frosties for a long time as a result. Oh my gosh that was so crazy back then....
Good on you for trying a triple I guess. LOL When I'm hungry a double usually does it for me. I totally get what you're saying about Wendy's burgers vs McDonalds. We have 42 McDonald's in the metro area in which I live, but also 24 Wendy's so they're not too hard to find. I first encountered them in the late 1970s. There is really a big difference. Of course there's a difference in price as well. IDK about the dipping of the fries in shakes. I've never tried it so I won't knock it, it just seems a bit weird. I do love Wendy's frosties. I want to try their strawberry version which is a limited edition for this summer.
Yep, I said on one of your first videos from USA when she kept saying the Chicken sandwiches weren't spicy that she needs to try a Wendy's Spicy Chicken sandwich and I guarantee you that she won't say that sandwich isn't spicy. 👍🏾👍🏾
Ohio, home of Wendy's. My fave is the Spicy Chicken sammy with standard bun, all day long. The story of Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's, is awesome. Once upon a time (30 years ago) he gave a profound speech to the Business School at my University; a wonderful and amazingly humble man. He told us that quality control was paramount. He regularly visited Wendy's franchises across the country to ensure standard quality across the board. Almost every lunch he sampled a Single (now Dave's Single), bowl of chili, and a frosty.
Love your enthusiasm and energy. Welcome and enjoy your stay in the US. Arizona in the house! BTW, I enjoy my Frosty as a dessert after the meal, but to each his own.
I worked at Wendy's in the late 80s. The food was a bit better, and there was a salad bar. The beef not only not frozen, but was then formed into patties in house. Also, the chicken breast was pounded and breaded fresh in house and put in a pressure fryer. We employees ate well and had a lot of fun. And yes, I've been dipping the fries since then.
I have never had the triple burger at Wendy’s. I always get chicken. I agree with Mrs. H that the chocolate Frosty needs more chocolatety flavor. Good reaction guys! 😍
Dave Thomas made the triple burger so people wouldn't be self-conscious about buying a double burger. 🍔 Found that out on the History channel. The food that built America.
The chocolate frosty is actually a vanilla and chocolate blend. It's meant to be a milder experience than straight up chocolate, and was designed for that very purpose. Dave Thomas didn't want the chocolate to overpower the taste of the burgers.
Heard about dipping fries in a Wendy's Frosty, for the first time, about 20 years ago. Love the idea of sweet and savory, hate temperature and texture combination though. They changed the chicken nuggets awhile back. They used to have more meat. Still love a Wendy's burger though.
So for a while, there used to be something called a Frosty Float, which is a Wendy's variant of the Ice Cream Float. My go to at the time was actually Dr Pepper and Chocolate Frosty...
I used to make my own root beer & chocolate Frosty floats all the time when I worked at Wendy's in the '80's, LONG before Wendy's ever thought to put a float on their menu. They were SO GOOD back then!
The portabello melt was my favorite when it was around, the pub burger is so good, but apparently they got rid of my favorite salad, the pecan apple salad apparently they discontinued (rat bastages).
I jhad a double cheese burger from Wendy's for lunch today. A double has a lot of meat, a triple is insane. The only thing you didn't try that Wendy's is known for is their chili.

I've eaten at Wendy's all my life, even share the name, but I have never dipped my fries in the frosty! I'll have to try it some time. My favorite things to order are the spicy chicken sandwich, the double cheeseburger and, of course, the chocolate frosty.
I'm glad you liked the food, but I have to tell you not long ago Wendy's was a lot better. Patties were bigger juicer and more flavor and they came wrapped in foil to keep them hot. Them one day they become smaller less flavor and more expensive. Also I'm 60 in the USA been going to Wendy's decades and I have never heard of or seen anyone dip fries in a frosty.
You know, my memory tells me the same thing. I convinced myself that it's just mental nostalgia but yeah... it doesn't hit like it used to. The same thing happened with Hardies/Roy Rodgers. The familiar taste is still there but the amazing mind blowing juicy above and beyond freshness faded off.
Great reaction! For me, I love Wendy's burgers and chicken. I would never dip a fry in the malted. I put ketchup on my fries. And, I think the chicken nuggets are for children and that's why they arent very spicy. usually i just get the spicy chicken sandwich. but they came out with a spicy ghost pepper chicken sandwich ive been getting. now that thing is kickin. has fried onions, ghost pepper cheese, ghost pepper mayo, lettuce, and tomato. it is almost too spicy. i think i am addicted to the spice of it tbh. the regular spicy chicken sandwich gets a tad spicy at the end
My Favorite thing to do is have the Spicy Nuggets with the Ghost Pepper Ranch sauce. Also it depends on the location with the quality of the Nuggets, sometimes you'll get nuggets that are dry and too tough that have been left out for an hour or so under the heat lamp then sometimes youll get one that are nice and juicy and fresh.
The fry dip secret is simple. Fat, sugar and salt! It hits all the bases. Unfortunately, I’m a purest and just can’t do it. Not my fault, I was a divider plate child 😂Wendy’s does have some of the best fast food burgers around though. Dave’s double combo, spicy chicken (or two), a bucket of chilli, raspberry lemonade and a frosty is my standard order 😀

When I was a kid and my dad would take me to my dentist appointments (happened very rarely that HE took me), we'd stop off at Wendy's for a frosty on the way home... lol. Favorite Wendy's burger.... for me... the baconator! Ohhh almost forgot... once, when I was 10 or so, Wendy's first came to near where we lived. Dad got supper for us all and after eating, he was in some serious pain. Didn't know what happened... turned out that he accidentally bit a little of the paper, and got a tiny piece of the foil caught on a filling in his tooth.... if you've ever had a filling and got any metal into contact with it, you understand just how much that hurt! It was quite a while before we had Wendy's again.

The way Mrs H loves spicy food, you must visit Arizona and New Mexico and just EAT!!! Everything coming out of Santa Fe New Mexico is delicious, no matter where you go, the green chili with pork is out of this world. Layer after layer of amazing southwest flavor!
When I was about 4 (in 1955) my family drove from Florida to California to a new job. We always got chocolate milkshakes to dip our french fries in. One reason I would go to McDonalds instead of Wendys is that at McDonalds they get my order right about 100% of the time. Wendys never gets it right. You have to inventory the contents of the bag before leaving.
Luv Wendy's. Chili, baked potatoes, fries, burgers are top notch. And the minishakes are as well. Nothing like dipping fries (chips) in a vanilla shake.

Loved this video!!! Wendy’s has some of my favorite fries but I have never gotten a frosty. Main reason is I LOVE the shakes at In N Out and I just always get them there instead. Maybe I will try the vanilla one at Wendy’s. Mrs. H, I love that you found a good SPICY chicken sandwich! I always feel many places miss the mark with the foods labeled “spicy.” Adore seeing Elana, as always. And Also seeing the progression of Mr. H’s tan. Hahaha!! BLY all!!!

My go-to order at Wendy's is the Spicy Asiago Ranch Chicken Club. They also have some fantastic salads. And I definitely prefer the Vanilla Frosty with my fries.
I don't know if it's available nation wide, but in Charlotte NC, Wendy's offers a Carolina Classic burger. It's a single patty burger with slaw and chili.

Wendy's just came out with a strawberry Frosty. I actually like it better than the chocolate & vanilla one. It's only here for the Summer though. Bummed for you, that you are missing it. ☹️. I think Elana gives the Frosty a 10/10. 😉
Wendy’s has always have a strawberry frosty in my area of the US ,it is only available during the Summer

The chocolate Frosty, while tasty for what it is, never had enough chocolate flavor for me to consider it truly chocolate. The strawberry Frosty is terrific for somebody like me that retains enough of my childhood to still enjoy Strawberry Nesquik in milk. Once in a while. But that vanilla Frosty tastes so much like what I've had in the past that resulted from attempts to make home-made ice cream -- it's the best Frosty, to my particular taste.
The salty, crispy fries work so well with the chocolate frosty!!! One if my favorites since high school and im in my 50s😂
Beautiful little girl. Another fun watch guys, I only go to Wendys in the summer for Frosty and fries but I don't dip. Mouth full of fries washed down with spoonful of frosty.
I'm from Virginia and I have never once seen or heard anyone putting fries in a frosty. Wendy's is a shell of what it once was. Back in the 80s the burgers were so greasy they would drop on the table. So good times.

I have two stories about Wendy's from my childhood.
1) I had reached my growth spurt at an early age that a basic kid's meal wasn't enough. My mom had noticed that and decided to upgrade it to adult meal and eventually ended up going to a double patty for my burgers.
2) There was at one point a pull tag on the back of their fries box that my younger sister and I collected a lot of them. We didn't know until one lazy Saturday, we were watching the TV and then a Wendy's add came on. It showed why there was that pull tag was for free frosties. The whole time, people were saying "We won!" for some of it. My sister and I both looked at each other and said "We won" at the same time. Man we had a ton of the OG chocolate frosties for a long time as a result.

Good on you for trying a triple I guess. LOL When I'm hungry a double usually does it for me. I totally get what you're saying about Wendy's burgers vs McDonalds. We have 42 McDonald's in the metro area in which I live, but also 24 Wendy's so they're not too hard to find. I first encountered them in the late 1970s. There is really a big difference. Of course there's a difference in price as well. IDK about the dipping of the fries in shakes. I've never tried it so I won't knock it, it just seems a bit weird. I do love Wendy's frosties. I want to try their strawberry version which is a limited edition for this summer.
Yep, I said on one of your first videos from USA when she kept saying the Chicken sandwiches weren't spicy that she needs to try a Wendy's Spicy Chicken sandwich and I guarantee you that she won't say that sandwich isn't spicy. 👍🏾👍🏾

Wendys use to sell large soft chocolate chip cookies. I use to break them up, and mix them in the frosty. It was amazing

Ohio, home of Wendy's. My fave is the Spicy Chicken sammy with standard bun, all day long. The story of Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's, is awesome. Once upon a time (30 years ago) he gave a profound speech to the Business School at my University; a wonderful and amazingly humble man. He told us that quality control was paramount. He regularly visited Wendy's franchises across the country to ensure standard quality across the board. Almost every lunch he sampled a Single (now Dave's Single), bowl of chili, and a frosty.
He got the idea for Wendy's from Kewpee in Lima.
Dave worked for Colonel Sanders, KFC's restaurants.
Sanders would go around checking on his restaurants also. 🐔🍗

I worked at Wendy's in the late 80s. The food was a bit better, and there was a salad bar. The beef not only not frozen, but was then formed into patties in house. Also, the chicken breast was pounded and breaded fresh in house and put in a pressure fryer. We employees ate well and had a lot of fun. And yes, I've been dipping the fries since then.

Dave Thomas made the triple burger so people wouldn't be self-conscious about buying a double burger. 🍔
Found that out on the History channel. The food that built America.
The chocolate frosty is actually a vanilla and chocolate blend. It's meant to be a milder experience than straight up chocolate, and was designed for that very purpose. Dave Thomas didn't want the chocolate to overpower the taste of the burgers.

Heard about dipping fries in a Wendy's Frosty, for the first time, about 20 years ago. Love the idea of sweet and savory, hate temperature and texture combination though. They changed the chicken nuggets awhile back. They used to have more meat. Still love a Wendy's burger though.
So for a while, there used to be something called a Frosty Float, which is a Wendy's variant of the Ice Cream Float. My go to at the time was actually Dr Pepper and Chocolate Frosty...
I used to make my own root beer & chocolate Frosty floats all the time when I worked at Wendy's in the '80's, LONG before Wendy's ever thought to put a float on their menu. They were SO GOOD back then!
My mother made custard for her banana pudding. She and I use regular size vanilla wafers. For no bake bansna instant pudding.
when the staff is good and it's done right, Wendy's is one of the best fast food joints.

You guys should try Arby's next. Beef N Cheddar, Barbecue Rib sandwich, Roast Beef, Bacon Swiss Chicken sandwich, Buffalo chicken wrap, Jalapeno Poppers, Ghost Pepper Roast Beef sandwich, Curly Fries... Basically try the menu :)
The portabello melt was my favorite when it was around, the pub burger is so good, but apparently they got rid of my favorite salad, the pecan apple salad apparently they discontinued (rat bastages).
I jhad a double cheese burger from Wendy's for lunch today. A double has a lot of meat, a triple is insane. The only thing you didn't try that Wendy's is known for is their chili.

I've eaten at Wendy's all my life, even share the name, but I have never dipped my fries in the frosty! I'll have to try it some time. My favorite things to order are the spicy chicken sandwich, the double cheeseburger and, of course, the chocolate frosty.
My current favorite is their seasonal strawberry salad with champagne vinaigrette.
I'm glad you liked the food, but I have to tell you not long ago Wendy's was a lot better. Patties were bigger juicer and more flavor and they came wrapped in foil to keep them hot. Them one day they become smaller less flavor and more expensive. Also I'm 60 in the USA been going to Wendy's decades and I have never heard of or seen anyone dip fries in a frosty.
You know, my memory tells me the same thing. I convinced myself that it's just mental nostalgia but yeah... it doesn't hit like it used to. The same thing happened with Hardies/Roy Rodgers. The familiar taste is still there but the amazing mind blowing juicy above and beyond freshness faded off.
Great reaction! For me, I love Wendy's burgers and chicken. I would never dip a fry in the malted. I put ketchup on my fries. And, I think the chicken nuggets are for children and that's why they arent very spicy. usually i just get the spicy chicken sandwich. but they came out with a spicy ghost pepper chicken sandwich ive been getting. now that thing is kickin. has fried onions, ghost pepper cheese, ghost pepper mayo, lettuce, and tomato. it is almost too spicy. i think i am addicted to the spice of it tbh. the regular spicy chicken sandwich gets a tad spicy at the end
My Favorite thing to do is have the Spicy Nuggets with the Ghost Pepper Ranch sauce. Also it depends on the location with the quality of the Nuggets, sometimes you'll get nuggets that are dry and too tough that have been left out for an hour or so under the heat lamp then sometimes youll get one that are nice and juicy and fresh.
In the US, some of us can dislocate our jaws like snakes so that we can handle burgers like this :-)

The fry dip secret is simple. Fat, sugar and salt! It hits all the bases. Unfortunately, I’m a purest and just can’t do it. Not my fault, I was a divider plate child 😂Wendy’s does have some of the best fast food burgers around though. Dave’s double combo, spicy chicken (or two), a bucket of chilli, raspberry lemonade and a frosty is my standard order 😀

When I was a kid and my dad would take me to my dentist appointments (happened very rarely that HE took me), we'd stop off at Wendy's for a frosty on the way home... lol. Favorite Wendy's burger.... for me... the baconator! Ohhh almost forgot... once, when I was 10 or so, Wendy's first came to near where we lived. Dad got supper for us all and after eating, he was in some serious pain. Didn't know what happened... turned out that he accidentally bit a little of the paper, and got a tiny piece of the foil caught on a filling in his tooth.... if you've ever had a filling and got any metal into contact with it, you understand just how much that hurt! It was quite a while before we had Wendy's again.

The way Mrs H loves spicy food, you must visit Arizona and New Mexico and just EAT!!! Everything coming out of Santa Fe New Mexico is delicious, no matter where you go, the green chili with pork is out of this world. Layer after layer of amazing southwest flavor!
I have no idea why fry's dipped in a shake works but it does and I have been doing it for the past 50 yrs.
When I was about 4 (in 1955) my family drove from Florida to California to a new job. We always got chocolate milkshakes to dip our french fries in.
One reason I would go to McDonalds instead of Wendys is that at McDonalds they get my order right about 100% of the time. Wendys never gets it right. You have to inventory the contents of the bag before leaving.

Loved this video!!! Wendy’s has some of my favorite fries but I have never gotten a frosty. Main reason is I LOVE the shakes at In N Out and I just always get them there instead. Maybe I will try the vanilla one at Wendy’s. Mrs. H, I love that you found a good SPICY chicken sandwich! I always feel many places miss the mark with the foods labeled “spicy.” Adore seeing Elana, as always. And Also seeing the progression of Mr. H’s tan. Hahaha!! BLY all!!!
