Eating Sonic while wearing a wife beater shirt.
Welcome to America.
Mr. H gave it a 9.5. Mrs. H didn't give a score in the video. What do you rate it Mrs. H?
@@Dbdb_12 They have to be careful, due to copyright strikes. Their reaction videos will only air on Patreon now.
Love sonic! Hello from the suburbs of Houston, TX
SONIC is a DRIVE-IN and driven-in food is usually eaten in the car at the driven-in. The food is hotter/tastier and cold stuff has less time to melt.
haha yeah, true
Sonics fries aren't that good..next time get the tots.
Or the Onion Rings.
Reminds me of the days of car hops with roller skates on that brought your food to your car. I loved living 50 yards away from our Sonic in Bandera, Tx..

Dill light was wordplay on delight. Ad promo for the fried DILL pickles. They're DILLightful 😊
Also, Afternoon Delight was a hit by the one hit wonders The Starland Vocal Band. So that may be in there, too.
@@jodyharnish9104 Afternoon Delight is what I picked up on straight away! I guess we're showing our ages!
Ok calm down
Fried pickles, dip in RANCH! That’s how it’s done. 😋
Mrs. H you need to be quick because MR. H just goes in on the food.😄♥️
Speaking as a former Sonic carhop (my first job), the cherry limeades have a stronger flavor if you put your finger over the lid and shake it a bit-the cherry flavor tends to be towards the bottom, so if you shake it, it redistributes.
As an OG Sonic lover from my youth who drank waaaayyy too many Cherry Limeades, this is the way. It’d be cool if they could get tips like this in advance.
1) As a dad myself, it's nice to see Alana so eager to share her food. Watching kids with good manners is a pleasure.
2) Sonic's food is solid, though probably not the best in any one category. Quality of food and service can vary from store to store. But you don't even have to get out of your car!
3) The tater tot may be western civilization's greatest invention.
4) Do you guys have something against catsup? I've watched you eat fast food in several videos, and you always dip your fried potatoes in some other sauce.
Oh, and I'm really starting to think y'all should order two of everything at the fast food places, just so that Mrs. H actually gets to eat some of it.
Sonic food is decent, but they are famous for their fantastic drinks!
Fried pickles in ranch is a must!!!!
Please buy more food so Mrs H can have something to eat.
My thoughts almost every video!! 😅
Mr H is a growing boy
I agree.
I just wonder why don't they cut the food in half, and split it. It's cleaner than the bite and pass.
@@rdramos13 whe you're married long enough cleaner doesn't matter
That center lane with arrows going each way are lovingly referred to as suicide lanes in Texas. It is a turning lane for both directions.
The bread is soft because the whole dog (bread and all) is placed in a steamer for several seconds before being delivered.
Their onion rings are battered with an ice cream base!
Wanted to mention those "suicide lanes" you just want to get in and turn from there = you don't want to travel within them too far. Some people travel in them too far and its dangerous.
WHEN IN DOUBT: Open the Limeade up... You'll have lime slices in it, but you'll also have either Cherries, Strawberries or whatever Flavor you chose in it.
If you ever go to Sonic again their onion rings are a must. I used to work there and I don't think anyone else makes them like Sonic does.
One thing you missed out on was the Sonic ice cream blast that has Reeces chunks in it.
Mr H would have loved it.

@@Naltddesha you are correct. I apologize.
@@dominickthornburghakaTRG lol, you are forgiven
Foot long chili dog ;-) Cherry limeade in Summer. Sweet potato fries (someplace).
Never seen sweet potato fries at sonic tho
Sonic was founded right here in Oklahoma! I think the quality was slightly better before they were bought out by a parent company but they're still one of my favorite places for a quick bite. The fried pickles are only on the menu a couple of times a year but until the late '80's they had a permanent spot on the menu as Pickle-O's (round pickle chips instead of spears). Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello from a former Bartian! (Bartlesville)
@@Naltddesha Hello from Tulsa and previously El Reno!
Sonic is "The Drink Stop" and one of the fun things to do is make your own drink. Tons of combo's that you can make.
Glad you guys found Sonic enjoyable! Sonic definitely isn't the best America has to offer, but when you got the urge for cheap and simple, Sonic definitely comes through. Thanks for the shout-out!!!
Specially happy hour on drinks !
Sonic is top tier for me.
Thanks for the Super chat !!! :)
Of all the fast-food joints in the US, I feel like Sonic is the most hit or miss. Sometimes you'll get super freshly made very well-made food. And other times you'll get crap old food that tastes like it was in a time capsule from 1982.
This is why I do cheddar peppers during happy hour. Most people are there for the drinks. The food is ALWAYS fresh at that time.
Totally agree. Quality varies widely between locations.
Hope Y'all liked it! The Onion Rings are one of my favorites. Hello from Mississippi, Love Y'all!
Sorry to say, but I'm allergic to Onions.
I would highly recommend the onion rings and mozzarella sticks.
I typically love onion rings (and I'm not a big onion fan), but I don't like the taste of Sonic's Onion Rings
@@FLmickey90 They are kinda sweet.
When I was a teen, I spent many mornings prepping onion rings. They dip them in malted vanilla milk before the breading mix
Sonic is my place!!!
Frozen limeade with cranberry is the bomb!
There was a song in the 70's called Afternoon Delight. I guess they're making a play on that with Afternoon Dill Light advertising their pickle fries. I go to Sonic in the summer for their Cherry Limeade but haven't eaten there in years..
Sonic has really good milkshakes! The food is pretty good for fast food. I love their hot fudge shakes😁
I've always gone to Sonic for snacks or treats. Not so much food/ meals, but finger foods and shakes. Although I do enjoy a footlong coney.
Dill is a type of herb. It’s used in making pickle brine. It’s also used as a herb in lamb. It’s not really that strong of a taste. It’s also known as dillweed. They used it like a pun in that sign. By itself in a hot pot it’s an interesting addition as flavors are way different when fully cooked.
There is a song from the '70s titled "Afternoon Delight" - I think they are doing a play on words w that.
👶Baby H should have her own segment for best fries. ❤I love Sonic because it is basic food done well most of the time. I really just go for happy hour if I am honest. The fruit slushes....lemon and cranberry are my faves. I also will stop by for a bag of ice when we have a party. SO HAPPY y'all enjoyed your trip🇺🇲
When I was 2, my mom found me in the kitchen eating a raw onion like an apple. I cried when she took it from me. It's one of her favorite stories.
Oscar award winning story, thank you.
Well, while you were in Texas you were close to the original first Sonic. Shawnee Oklahoma!! I used to eat at Sonics in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Of course I live in Texas now and I still eat there. Got a couple chili dogs and fries last wee!!
Anyway, so glad you enjoyed your Texas trip. There is soooo much more to discover here. You just barley touched the surface.
Y'all be safe. Have a wonderful Christmas or your favorite holiday.
I’m not sure what state everyone resides in but here in Arkansas, our Sonic still tastes good! 😁 my favorite drinks are the limeade, lime slushy and banana slushy ❤
I live in Texas, and our Sonic taste good.
I live in Oklahoma and our sonic is still fire
Sonic isn't perfect and isn't exactly gourmet or anything like that, but in terms of cheap/affordable/fast food it's terrific in my book. There's a really good variety so you can always find something you're in the mood for and the drinks are great. Like any fast food place it does depend on the workers (some stores are better than others), but as a whole they're the type of place that punches up. The food, variety, and prices are much better than you would expect for what you pay and that's a great thing. I would take Sonics over McDonalds any day of the week.
Its top tier for me. If I instantly became a billionaire, I'm celebrating by going to Sonic.
OMG that baby. You are blessed
Fried pickles are definitely an American diner staple. And bars/pubs too. Same w fried mushroom and fried cauliflower. After a night at the bar most of us have ordered one of those before we leave and enjoyed every bite.
If you’re out at Canyon Lake, you need to get out on the water! Find someone friendly with a boat and they’ll take you out! I used to water ski every weekend , during the summer out there! You HAVE to get out on the lake, you’re RIGHT There! It’s great!
Worked at sonic in high school. Pickleo’s and cheese covered tater tots were a major seller in the late 70’s
When I train people I stress how important fresh, hot, salty fries are. It is the first thing the majority of people will judge a restaurant by.
Now I'm a big, burly, rather gruff old coot, but that cute little "Some" from Baby H melts my ♥heart ♥every single time. What an absolutely darling little girl! Love your channel, guys...I've probably gained 20 pounds just from running out for fast food after watching you (over)indulge, ha ha.... keep up the good work!
Sonic can be hit and miss. It depends on who’s working like any other kitchen, it’s only as good as the people working there. It used to be higher quality years ago, but now it’s just cheap, I need to eat something now, type food. That’s how I feel about it. Now, I know they have a very popular, customizable, drink selection that you can’t get anywhere else, so they have that going for them.
Baby H eating those fries was as cute as a speckled pup! As we say here in Texas.
Hi guys. My name is Lori . We have Sonic practically almost every where in Texas. My favorite items on the menu are the cheeseburger with no onions and either French fries or tator tots and the steak sandwich is good too. I also recommend trying the ice cream there is so good and you can get it in a cone or a dish and they have really good milkshakes too. They also have a nice kiddie meal for children and you get a choice and it comes with a prize in it . I’d make sure that you have the one that takes your order to repeat it before you get it so won’t have anything missing from it .
not gonna lie, it broke my heart that no one told you the ranch was for the fried pickles. It cuts the sour taste of the pickle.
Ha ha, I definitely notice Mr H's massive bites over all the videos. They "share" but he eats half the thing in one bite. 😆
😂
Canyon Lake was only 30 minutes my house ... mmm, cherry limeade!! I ate at Sonic for lunch everyday during my freshman year high school (long ago) ... it's old school fast food
Afternoon delight is code from Hankey panky in the afternoon dill light is probably a pin on dill pickles
No matter what I get at Sonic, the one side that I always get is large chili cheese tots, I just love those things!
Sonic is quite literally the only fast food place i ever go to , mostly because it's right down the road from me , but luckily i like it.
Your daughter is an absolute Doll!
I like the Cheddar peppers at Sonic.
I still have two locations near me where a few of the carhops deliver the food on roller skates, at least when it isn't too rainy or icy on the streets and parking lot.
Me: Screaming at my iPad… “Dip the pickle fries in the ranch!!!!!” That’s how you are supposed to eat them.
No way !!!! We will just have to fly over again and do that !!! ❤️ 🇺🇸
Yes! I love strawberry limeade with extra strawberry !
A sonic cheeseburger with tots and a Cherry Limeade with extra Cherry Juice is my go to!
Back in high school (early 80's), my friends and me would get a limeade slush and put Captain Morgan's spiced rum in it. Our rum version of a Margarita.
Their jalapeno poppers are my favorite fast food poppers.
Fried pickles and spicy mustard is s great combo.
Mr. H, I think your appetite has gotten bigger since you came to the US! Welcome to America! Loving watching the beautiful family enjoy themselves! And yes, h is absolutely an adorable scene-stealer!
The bun is soft because they store them in the warmer keeps them moist.
Sonic is my favorite fast food burger and I am from Texas. Also, my husband and I like to go later on Saturday night and just get some snacks and a drink. Or maybe Sunday morning I will get myself a breakfast burrito combo, since my husband sleeps in. hahahaaaa My go to snack in the pretzel with cheese sauce.
Afternoon "delight" made a play-on-words because of the pickles - dill pickles. So afternoon "Dill light".
@8:49 lol did baby H just say thank you darling back yo daddy 😂😂😂 how precious
In our area, there's always a Sonic near a high school.
Shoutout from Arkansas. One thing y’all missed out was the cheddar peppers. So good.
Deep fried pickles is a great bar appetizer that pairs very well with beer
Should have got the jalapeno poppers and the BBQ bacon cheeseburger toaster. They are divine.
Your daughter is a cutie pie! ☺
The Ocean water drink is the best!!!!!!!
Ok. Sonic’s onion rings take a back seat to nobody. Great reaction! Y’all missed out though 🤓🤠
We will just have to fly out again and try them ❤️
The Sonics in the South are 🎉better than the one in our area in Maryland for sure.
Next time you go to Texas, and it seems like you want to go again; you should check out the beaches. Some of the best beaches in US are in Texas.
Missed the Breakfast Toasters, cheese sticks with marinara sauce, cheddar bites, onion rings and grape slush with nerds. Lol. Glad y'all liked yalls choices. With Mr. H on the coneys. Great video.
At Sonic you park at the car spots and order. They bring the food to you.
Sonic mozzarella sticks are good too. Always ask for extra mozzarella sauce. Their chocolate shakes are good too. For breakfast which they serve all day the ham or bacon toasters are good too
The tang in the ranch is often buttermilk.
I love their chili cheese tots with Jalapenos
pickle fries in the ranch and gotta get the chedder peppers lol
We would fry a cow whole if possible, which someone probably has. Merica!!! Love your channel as always!
lolol I read MR H's body language after eating the pickles. lol
Glad y'all liked it. I'm afraid Alana kinda steals the show. LoL. Cheers from Tennessee
I was a sonic car hop when I was 17, my oldest daughter was when she was 16. My oldest granddaughter (17) is now also a car hop. It was a fun job.
The Cherry Limeade is a must but I only ever ate the breakfast items. The bacon, egg, and cheese toaster sandwich on those nice thick slices of bread with a side of the tots...good eating though I see from some comments that they've gone downhill. We have one in town but I haven't been in YEARS.
Awe, so glad you loved Sonic! I enjoy it also! They have great onion rings too! Oh well, next time, bc I know you'll be back! xo
The ranch goes well with the pickle fries.
I simply Love you Guy's welcome to America ❤😊
If you haven't had it yet, you need to try homemade ranch dressing. Super easy to make, way better than any bottled brand.
Tip: always add extra cherry in your limeade from Sonic.
I always get the cheeseburger, onion rings and cherry coke. And they have great strawberry shakes too! Chocolate strawberry shakes are good also lol
I live in Connecticut and they used to mock us on tv with sonic ads. Many people asked the corporate headquarters if they could move up north. They eventually did but with small success with exception of the first couple months of opening but people I know compare the food to Dairy Queen but I prefer DQ over sonic. I love the Blizzards and fried cheese curds there.
I would drive 30mins to fullerton just for Sonic 😂
Recomend trying FOOT long Chilli Dog with mustard, onion, cheese & jalapeños.
Can't believe you liked Sonic better than In N Out. But to each his/her own.
I can easily believe it.
They may have used a mild, sweet onion called a VIDALIA onion on your Burger. I don't know if they are grown in the UK.
Ranch is a must with deep fried pickles. ✌🏼
Dill Light = Delight
Its a play on words
I believe they use an onion that originally comes out of Georgia called Vidalia's
Here's a little trick I use to get fresh fries, when you order them, tell them no salt on the fries, every fast food place salts their fries right out of the fryer, so they'll have to cook a fresh batch to be saltless, then tell them to put salt packets in the bag so you can salt them yourself. Also if you ever get out to California, you guys have to go to a fast food place called Weinerschnitzel, it's a hot dog/chili dog chain, I recommend an all beef chili cheese dog and a chili cheese fry.
They make good milkshakes and malts. But they provide straws that have a tiny diameter.
My Sonic memory. In 4th grade in Mississippi, I was the only 4th grader who made it to a city-wide spelling bee. I came in 4th (misspelled “nullify”). I was dejected, and that’s when I learned that the top 3 get trophies, but the #4 doesn’t get s-t. So my parents took me to Sonic as consolation, which at the time seemed really cool.
Sonic brings back memories. 30 years ago, when I was pregnant, I craved hamburgers. I had to eat a sonic burger everyday good thing back, then it was only $1.00. That was when waiters were still in skates it was good, but Sonic went downhill after so many other restaurants opened.
Nice that you all spent most of your time in Central TX. Cheers to your subscribers for recommending classic spots. Sonic is a favorite in this state. Now that you've been through Central TX, you have to come back and try out North TX, or South TX, or East TX, or West TX, or Northwest TX, or Northeast TX, or Southwest TX, or Southeast TX. And, if you're ever around Bastrop TX then meet me at the American Legion, or go to Snows BBQ in Lexington, or Billies BBQ here in Bastrop. Either way, first Guiness is on me.
I remember being in London and not having seen a hot dog or a hamburger once (although there was a burger chain called Wimpy's as I remember. Not was ketchup commonly available.
