    Some places will customize pretty much everything, even have them built to home standards. I like the sloped roof, easy for water collection and solar panels.

    I think this is a great idea special with the economy the problem is with zoning you don't want to mess around and buy something like this and then find out that it's not in code or zoning you would hate to spend all this money just to be told that he has to be taken down 😢😢😢 so until they release the streams on zoning codes this is only a dream cannot release the zoning

      This price seems a little steep for 200 square feet. Also seems like a waste to build the overhang over the porch, rather than adding the porch separate (less space, but almost the same amount of lumber).

    Regarding the first shed. Is it possible to stand up at the highest point in the loft? How many feet high is it - approximately, as I think you didn’t measure the height of the loft.

    • @TechCloset
      @TechCloset  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s difficult to answer your question because I could not access the loft area to try standing up or measuring it. My guess is that most people could probably stand in the highest point, but of course that depends on how tall you are. This video was filmed over a year ago, but if that model is still available you could check out their website and see if they have the measurements you are looking for.

    How do you live in these as a home or a tiny home legally? I thought the state laws were so restricted and county compliance/inspections are nightmare for someone trying to live simple and cheap? My goal would be to stick one on a piece of land. The size is perfect for me.

    • @TechCloset
      @TechCloset  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It would depend on your local laws and ordinances for personal dwellings, but in many rural areas you could probably get away with it as long as you’re paying taxes and not bothering anyone. I believe some areas would require properly permitted electrical and plumbing for it to be considered a home. Again, it totally depends on your local laws.

    • @qlogic2002
      @qlogic2002 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Zoning laws are your biggest issue. Look into agricultural land

    • @1SCme
      @1SCme 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Varies by jurisdiction, but in many rural areas and small towns you don't even need a building permit if the size is below a threshold (notice this is 200 sq. ft. under most limits I've seen). I saw a property listed where the owner split a vacation home into 3 small buildings, located just a few feet apart - 1 had kitchen/dining, 1 had living room, 1 had bedroom and bath.

    • @mistyblue526
      @mistyblue526 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Apparently my little home was just attached to a cement foundation, I now have to pay taxes on it, since it is considered part of the land. Plus, if I want to add a little shed, and put electricity in it, it is assumed a permanent dwelling too...so I gotta pay taxes on that. Since my tiny home is considered permanent now.....my fricken property taxes increased EIGHT times as much since I bought the property in November 2021. I live in the country. Weird how people want to live as simply and environmentally friendly, iether to downsize, minimize " stuff" in their lives or because they are very low on the income scale. A pity that the state cant help the low income earners by not charging high taxes on their small dwellings, and demand they buy a license to put a worm on the end of a hook to fish when one is hungry. Plus the permits one has to buy just to hook up electric and plumbing...cost money, and hook ups are a reason for another tax increase. I'm still trying to live a simple life, but have discovered that my simple life has to jump through all these beaurocratic hoops, in order to be " legal".😢

      Unfortunately they don’t list the prices on these. One reason is because the price of materials is always changing. It also might depend on your area, so even if I list the price in the video it may not even be applicable to where you live or the time you viewed it.

    These sheds vary location to location and the 2 story ones ( big brother to the first one he shows and the one at the end ) are not available in my area of Florida and can't even contact the manufacture about them. I have tried calling and emailing them only to get no replies from either method.

    • @TechCloset

    • @ravenlorans
      @ravenlorans 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechCloset Tried. Not many companies around here and the ones that are still want too much and will not build a 2 story. I would need like 3 Sheds Minimum to get the 2 bedroom I would want. 2- 8x8's/10x10's bedrooms and one 10x16/10x20 for main Living/Kitchen area.. and a 8x8 around here is Around 6 Grand Or More... They are coming back down.
      Would be cheaper to buy 2 16x28's and remove the roof of one and put the other on top.... OR like the First Barn Shed you show, Cut the roof off and raise it to get the Head room of a Second Floor and put the 2 bedrooms and even a small bath up there. Barn would need to be 16x16 Minimum for that.

      That’s true, but you could say the same thing for a full size home too. Most people who are interested in buying these are not capable of building it themselves and may also want the warranty that comes along with the inflated price tag. I totally agree though, if you are capable then save the money and just build something like this on your own for far less cost.
