- Shed to home conversion… start to finish! We purchased a repossessed 16x60 storage shed and converted it into a beautiful minimal modern 2 bedroom, 2 bath home for our daughter and her family.

I don’t care what anyone says. I would rather spend my money building a home exactly how I want it. Some people say they could have bought a new home with the amount of money they spent on this but it wouldn’t have been exactly what they wanted. This came out so beautiful. It was definitely well worth it.

For the right person in the right position this came out beautiful! I would love to know what the cost of the building was since it was a repo. I am trying like crazy to get my nephew to do pretty much this same thing, only put it on a crawl space. It would be more cost, but again I bet this was highly discounted being a repo. I have been building for more than 30 years and he knows HVAC and plumbing. I did a lot of masonry work, so I could build the crawl space too. The kid even has most of the money. Maybe I am not kicking hard enough! lol

Having helped frame a house the structural support is exactly what you get in a built on site house. That is what is imporant. Interior walls are nothing but partitions.

This is the way I like to see a video project . Not someone standing around talking about what they’re going to do and then telling you what they did. We can see this, and in my book, well done! Question, is the outside soft sided or hardy board? Did you seal it?

The outside is LP smart siding.

We tiled the shower. Small Hexagons for the floor and 12x18 tiles for the walls.

It is an amazing home!!! I love everything about it except......The only thing I was thinking about was the placement of the baby's bedroom.... being on the opposite side of the house...that is too much distance for me.

Love that natural light What about septic and electricity and water? Did the 160,000 include that?
130k… yes that included septic, plumbing and electrical.
How many feet off the ground did the building have to be for the plumbing to be done?
Basically just enough room for crawl space. Unfortunately because the ground was so unlevel the shed needed quite a few cinder blocks to get it all leveled up thus making it look pretty high off the ground on one end.
I always wondered about reinforcing the flooring. Like how is that done?
Hummm... are you talking about the decking that was used underneath the actual flooring that we laid? If so that was done by the shed manufacture... it's just 3/4" plywood/decking. I hope that answers your question.

Im pretty sure yall could have searched and fount something that actually included the land too for 130k.... thats crazy for a shed/tiny home.... its nice asf.... but a 3bdrm singlewide here in NC brand spanking new with 2bth os $39k atw done setup in extra but still....

Yikes.. I really can’t answer that. I mean… It would all depend on size, land and of course a lot of other factors.

@DaMomDatCookz1 this is on our land so no not really lol houses with land must be much cheaper where you live! No possible way we could purchase something this nice with land in our area for this price!

Probably the prettiest shed to home conversion that I've seen thus far. I didn't know they actually make sheds that long and have no idea why anyone would need to have that much shed space to begin with. Regardless, awesome job on this.

I have a shed 12x32..it needs an overhang for many reasons, also a deck instead of steps. These ppl did a phenomenal job, it’s absolutely beautiful!

It’s a sad reflection of the American story that people actually believe it’s OK to live in the shed. Let the avaricious sociopaths who have been ripping off average Americans for decades, live in sheds. We will live in their mansions.

Thanks, but there’s definitely not room for a third bedroom “upstairs” even if vaulted. If you’ll notice we did vault the ceiling in the master bedroom and living room. Just not the spare bedroom…. which we do regret.

Where are the closet doors and the decks? Also, why paint the outside white? The blue was a beautiful color and a nice contrast to the scenery, now it blech. What kind of tie-downs did you use to keep the shed from blowing away in a tornado?

We used hurricane straps that are anchored into the ground.

This is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen; and I've seen million dollar+ homes as a new construction sales person! You have done EVERYTHING RIGHT, from the insulation to the finishing, PERFECT!
