Comments like this are exactly why the concept of “shrinkflation” exists. Companies build a cheaper product full of plastic and throw in a smaller less refined engine, then they just simply distract you by adding technology that literally nobody needs. All for a crazy high price! If you’re such a horrible driver that you require street signs displayed in your gauge cluster or a system to park your car for you, then you are the perfect customer for the new RX 😂… good for you. I’m happy to hear that they finally built the perfect car for you by destroying one of the most legendary crossover SUVs ever made. 👍

2021 with 58k miles. No basic Warranty after 50k miles, but in this situation Lexus won’t help you either way unless you qualify for the repair even under basic warranty. The reason is simply because they claim it’s normal to have the lean up to a certain amount.

There would likely be no way to recover anything. That’s the down side of self custody.

The difference is that the older model RX 350 did not FEEL like a crossover. The new one drives like it’s a Toyota matrix or something. It’s just like a giant hatchback instead of an SUV now. Huge difference that you will only notice if you’ve ever driven the older one versus the new one, which I have. That being said, it seems like the TX has quietly replaced the RX.

Government requirements is a poor excuse since the new ES350 still has the V6 and clearly they can still sell it if they choose to. This is a rant, not a review. You own the car, so of course you’re not going to agree with me telling you that it sucks. Like it or not, the build quality of the 2024 RX 350 is horrible and I completely stand by the opinions I expressed in this video. Thanks for the comment regardless.

@ You’re right it’s an opinion only although to bad mouth a manufacturer that makes Reliable vehicle when so many other manufacturers make crap. The regulations for the government is not an excuse. It is what it is. That’s why they’re all going to four-cylinder turbos, if they retain the V6 engines, it cost them more money to pay the government because they’re not as efficient.

For the record I proudly own four vehicles and they are all Lexus and Totota. I’m extremely disappointed in what they have done with the RX 350 specifically, I’m not trying to “badmouth” Lexus. The truth is that all car manufacturers are unfortunately going down a path where they value technology over build quality. It’s just my opinion and it wouldn’t stop me from continuing to be a Lexus customer. But I totally agree with you about government regulations forcing larger engines to become extinct. That’s one big reason why I bought a Lexus 4.6 V8 while they are still out there! In fact my original plan was to buy a Cybertruck, but I was priced out and long term I’d rather invest in another Lexus.

@ I owned a 21 Lexus GX, loved it perfect vehicle except that I have an elderly parent that lives two hours away from me one way, so the V8 wasn’t cutting it, and I previously owned several RX vehicles prior. I understand about the technology does get annoying although the safety features keep insurance cost low for all of us. domestic brands like Ford and Chevy refused to perfect reliability. Yes, some of the interior may have some plastic but that’s also to improve fuel economy. I have no doubt that my 2024 RX 350 premium plus four-cylinder turbo will be extremely reliable Lexus Toyota only brands. I trust I’ve owned Chevy Ford mercury Buick in the past and they will have one thing in common, continual breakdown. I just said you made that like the way they configured the new RX, but your video give the impression that this is no longer reliable vehicle and that is where I have my issue

Absolutely. I own a 2007 Toyota Avalon with the same 3.5 and it has over 202k mile still going strong. Not even an oil leak!

4 cylinder is not luxury or fast in any way.

This is all personal opinions, I had this car as a loaner myself and this is a true luxury car. I’ve driven plenty of German vehicles and nothing drives like a Lexus. I do prefer the V6 in my RX350 but this new gen is very nice sooooo I don’t know what you’re talking about… GX is a beautiful car but it’s an ancient dinosaur (up until now finally)

I don’t think the GX is a dinosaur, it’s a luxurious tank and it’s a real pleasure to drive. It’s unbelievably smooth on the road yet you could drive it through a freaking river if needed. The V8 will easily last 300,000 miles! Not sure what else you could want in a car really, but that’s just a matter of opinion and priorities. Personally, I really value build quality in a car, so my opinion is biased when it comes to the GX or older Lexus models. I’m not the only one who feels this way because I recently bought a 21 GX and most of the ones I was looking at sold faster than any other car I’ve tried to buy. I literally saw them traded in on a Saturday and sold on a Sunday! The demand for the older GX is extremely high right now and I attribute that to the fact that people really want to buy the older better Lexis models while they’re still out there. Sure it doesn’t have a lot of modern stuff like Apple CarPlay, but I don’t need that stuff. If you need that stuff, then I guess you would hate the GX. That being said, Lexus is still a great luxury brand, especially compared to German cars. The quality has really suffered though for models made outside of USA and Japan.

You have a valid point, but I own two vehicles as my “daily” drivers. This GX and a Tacoma. I commute on the same exact roads (mostly) in the same lanes each day. I can tell a significant difference with the GX versus the Tacoma on the same roads and lanes. Although for me the biggest issue is the fact that this vehicle physically leans towards one side about 1” when I’ve measured it in various places. Compared to my Tacoma and other vehicles I own none of them have a lean. I’m hoping to put this entire argument to rest soon because I’m getting Lexus to fix my GX and I will post the results video soon.

Sometimes it’s way off, other times it’s normal. Dealer says it’s normal. We’ll see what it does after I get the suspension fixed.

It’s an amazingly well-built vehicle. Great choice buying one because they literally don’t make them like this anymore!

Somebody gotta do it

I bought it on eBay many years ago, but the seller is gone now or changed names. You should be able to find a very similar one there. Also, I had to grind out some of the pre-drilled holes because they didn’t align properly which was a pain. Just make sure you find a kit that uses the cotter pins and drilled axels to secure the wheels and not the caps because they will come off. Windows 11 isn’t compatible with older processors like mine and some PCs without a TPM may not run it at all. I’m sure you could still run it on older incompatible processors, but you’re just going to lose performance. Personally I’m waiting for Windows 10 to be officially end of life before I switch over.

@@TechCloset Well I am using windows 11 since release and I think it works better then Windows 10. It is maybe because I was using the metro start menu and it was buggy until the end of using 😅
