I saw Albert Collins meander through the standing room only crowd of the Blues tent on a hot, muggy night at Summerfest in Milwaukee years ago, trailing what had to be the longest guitar cord I'd ever seen. He was followed by a roadie/bouncer that did cable management as he shredded his way through the audience of sweaty, half drunk folks. Still amazed at the soulfulness of his playing and that he made it back to the stage without missing a note or getting tangled up or unplugged.

It's hard to believe he's been gone all these years, as someone who saw him many many times. Albert Collins loved Vancouver, as proved by his regular gigs here. Never missed a chance to hook up to a show, no matter where. He was a generous player who often shared the stage with new slingers he was championing. That's a class act - and Albert Collins was that.
~Sadly gone, never forgotten.

He had one of the sharpest, most distinctive tones in the blues. No wonder he was called the "Razor Blade". The keyboardist on the other hand was called "bobblehead" and predates heavy metal headbangers. 🙃
