Albert Collins, T Bone Walker, Albert King, John Lee Hooker The Best Bluesman that ever lived. Thank you for the Music Thank you for your Soul and the joy you gave 🎸💙
I was at that Electric Ball room concert. Albert was on fire, absolutely brilliant, one of the best gigs that I have ever seen. Without disrespect towards George, I think Albert should have been the Head liner. George was brilliant as well. That should have been filmed. A show to remember... 🎸🎸🎸
@@carlsmith1263 I've heard lots of people say he's a very down to earth, cool, humble gentleman... you're the only asshole that's ever called him an asshole.
Is Thorogood for fucking real? He had the chance to not only sit down, but SHARE A STAGE with Albert Collins, and he doesn't even know what kind of guitar he plays? No matter how nervous/drunk/high I was I would never think of AC as the master of the....Stratocaster. Very cool of AC to not correct him/glare/look sideways too much at him even though he's clearly WTF'ing. I really enjoy Thorogood and anyone can make a mistake, but that's like introducing BB King as playing a Flying V. What a boob.
I SAW THE ICEBREAKERS IN RICHMOND, VA. IN 1985. HE PLAYED WITH GEORGE THOROGOOD AT FARM AID THAT DAY...HE WENT OUT TO BROAD ST. AND JAMMED IN THE MEDIAN STRIP..HE HAD ROB NOLL ON 2ND GUITAR THEN AND HE WAS FANTASTIC! RIP ALBERT...YOU WILL BE MISSED...
About a minute into the video George mentions that he's known Albert since 1979...so obviously this show isn't from 1976. Also, pretty big goof by George introducing Albert as the Master of the STRATOcaster (not Telecaster)!
This was from a show they did in 1982... I have no idea where they got 1976 from... but anyway, George got the TELECASTER intro right during the concert.
What a humble and genuine man. You can see that little twinkle of mischief in his eye every once in a while. You can just see he's all about the music, and though he says he can't read it (other than drum scores), you can tell he's a true student of the blues and its history, and it's luminaries. I love the line where he says he likes to play blues that don't make you fall over in your beer!
The Master of the Telecaster, and also one of Jimi Hendrix Favorites. Still i'm sad that he had to go too soon.I remember in the year he died,he wanted to do some show in the town where i lived. And i wanted to buy a ticket to see him live, cause man he was🎵🎸🎙 dynamite, groovy, funky, cool, bluesy,so powerful...and then i heard that he died cause he had a Heartproblem...I was down to the ground. Hey Albert thank you for your music, rest in peace brother🕯🎵🎸🙏

If I had been George .. that would have said "MR COLLINS "...hey George you aint the shit you think you are ,now we're older at least I dont have a turkey neck I could use for suspenders
No my grandpa talked the same way. He was sober for over 20 years when he passed it might have been an early onset but I don't think he is drunk in the interview that's just years of abuse. Albert is definitely one of the best that ever did it and I wish I could have seen him play live.
His fingers? Tough as hell. The style? Definitely tougher, especially with strings in open f minor tuning. The bends will feel like bending in first position.
One of the great Blues players and singers - a unique guitar sound.
I wish I'd seen him live. He was fabulous. Rip Albert.

I've never fell over in my beer, listening to Albert !!

Notice how he didn't even bother correct him, he has to be the coolest cat to ever live.
Le Douche as they say in France
Thoroughgood was an asshole

So glad she corrected George.. It's a Telecaster dude!
Right!
Don’t worry if somebody makes mistakes, someone will come along and insert themselves into correcting the mistakes...geez
The greatest among them all!
George has always been an engaging host out to bring out the best of those he interviews.
I seen him in 1987 he was brilliant.
Wonderful interview ! Thanks !

Love the guy.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who did the math. I was going to point it out but you beat me to it. 👌
Deana Rupe also they talked about lightin Hopkins and how he was a great loss and he died in 1982 so it is wrong.
This was from a show they did in 1982... I have no idea where they got 1976 from... but anyway, George got the TELECASTER intro right during the concert.
Legend. Thanks for posting this

Fantastic video,thanks for sharing!!!
This is from July 1984.
Thanks.

The date is most probably 1986, not 76.
Jay Bee's BLUES LINE You know it!
82 actually... the video of the concert is here in YT. I have no idea where this guy got 1976 from...
Time travel. It really exists! They met in 79'

I just enjoyed lissening to History ..
Me too!
what a bunch of amateurs, Albert is just too good for this
It's actually a Telecaster, not the Stratocaster.
That's from the eighties, not 1976.
This is from the mid 80’s
Lighting hopkins cousin
I was one of those young white kids...and saw him in 76...
How can this be from 1976, it they talk about having met in 1979...?
1986
'Master of the Stratocaster?"
Didn’t he mean Telecaster? The Ice Pick!
Um George... he's "Master of the TELEcaster"... not Stratocaster.
1986?
Stratocaster?
86 not 76
This is not 1976!
Albert is sweet, George is mean
If I had been George .. that would have said "MR COLLINS "...hey George you aint the shit you think you are ,now we're older at least I dont have a turkey neck I could use for suspenders
Oh I really had a hard time when folks would put you in tape player and I had no wat /where to politely leave the room
The behind the scenes crew is horrible
76? More like 86
Albert Collins was Master of the TELECASTER !
Ignorant interviewer.
The guys seem having been quite intoxicated ...

The team conducting this interview seemed disorganized
Used a capo most of the time. Dont matter. Bending strings. Tougher or not. Discuss
His fingers? Tough as hell. The style? Definitely tougher, especially with strings in open f minor tuning. The bends will feel like bending in first position.
Horrible interview, interrupted, just one person there seems to know who Albert was.
