It's so weird to me that people who were vegan are now 100% carnivore. Such a switch from a limited diet to a severely restrictive diet speaks more to disordered eating than to health.
Yeah well the rate of EDs is significantly higher for vegans and vegetarians, and I'm sure the same is true of other restrictive diets. Going from a whole food vegan diet to a meat-egg-dairy diet isn't more or less restrictive, it's just a different kind of restriction. Neither are healthy, and the stats demonstrate that these dietary lifestyles attract people with EDs, and those are just the ones that are reported. I honestly suspect most vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores are just people with EDs who are in denial of their problem, and dressing it up in a modern, trendy way because it's less likely to be questioned if it follows a trend.
@@zenleeparadise yes, there is definitely a correlation with any restrictive diet and EDs, and I think people need to watch out for this. I do think a carnivore diet is more restrictive, though, especially the carnivore ones that don't include dairy. I want to point out that the origin of the word “picnic” is French. It is a composite of two French words: the verb “piquer” and the noun “nique” (pronounced “pea-kay” and “neek”). The term “pique-nique” dates back to 1694, as noted in the Trésor de la langue française, an extensive dictionary of 19th and 20th-century French. Initially, the meaning of “pique-nique” referred to a meal where everyone paid their share or brought their own food. Later, it evolved to describe an outdoor meal, where people would gather and eat together. The word “picnic” was first introduced into English in 1748. Linguistically, there is no evidence to support the claim that the word “picnic” has racist or racial connotations.
Major respect to the hunter guy that said he was about 90% able to provide for his family from hunting and gardening. I fully support cutting out grocery stores and big corporations whenever possible. Being mostly self-sufficient like that is amazing.
First is was 100%, then 90%, in reality its probably more like 50% from who he hunts himself, people lie, and no one lies more than hunters. Just look at the "carnivore" girl, she contradicts herself throughout, oh and was never vegan.
This isn't a sustainable option for though. There are 35-36 million deer in the US. In 2021, the US consumed 30 BILLION pounds of beef. We would wipe every population of deer, elk, rabbit, etc in a matter of weeks if people switched to hunting. The reality is that we need to significantly reduce our meat consumption, or stop completely, if we want to abolish factory farms.
I have a buddy who is an aspiring vegan homesteader. His critique of homesteads that exploit animals is many of them have to rely on feed from outside sources to grow the animals. His goal is complete self-sufficiency and he believes that's more attainable without animals on the homestead.

@bobbymatousek Well, she said she was "vegan" and veganism is taking an ethical stance against animal exploitation, abuse, and slaughter and also extends to not using ANY item that contains animal products, including cosmetics and clothes, not just food. Plant-based is a diet, so it sounds like that's what she was.
Not gonna lie but the amount of times the carnivore girl mentioned the whole food anti processed diet makes me very suspicious of the way she was eating as a vegan
Yea, getting a full nutritional load as vegan is not more difficult than carnivore, you just go about it differently. Eating packaged processed food will never get you there the way mindful selection of fresh food in tandem with processed foods will. Also, the "raw only carnivore" makes me laugh as someone who is learning to move away from meat; cooking is how we survive in any environment because it opens up nutrition that raw alone cannot in every case.
Probably ate a bunch of processed vegan meat as opposed to organic plant based lifestyle. Legumes, beans, chickpeas, etc are healthier than eating processed vegan foods. So many people criticize the vegan lifestyle but also don’t do the proper education beforehand to know the best way to navigate eating that way and then blame it on veganism. I only need to take a b12 vitamin, the rest of my lab results are great. It really isn’t that hard.
@ It sounds like she wasn’t eating enough food and it wasn’t necessarily the type of food that was the problem. It’s a common problem for people going vegan. They don’t realize the highly dense fiber food is low in calories and you need more than she may be used to. If you eat in a deficit, you can lose your period, regardless of your diet. If you aren’t getting enough calories, you lose your period, simple as that.

Farm animals are given B12 supplements as standard practice. You are getting a lot of your B12 second hand in the form of supplements by eating the animals that were given B12. The vitamin B12 does not originate in animals. B12 is generated by microbes that can be found in the soil. Wild animals drink untreated water that contains B12.

Jumping into the conversation with “I thinks it’s incredibly selfish” told me everything I needed to know about her as a person. Not a single speaker expressed negativity towards the other side and yet that was the first thing she said when joining the conversation. She expressed judgement and disdain in something that should be an open conversation and discussion. The point is to find a “middle ground”, not to tell people you think they’re morally wrong. She also digs way too deep past the simple question which makes her go down a rabbit hole of awful terrible things to tell people, almost seemingly implying they are agreeing to those things when all they did was answer the question in the simplicity it was asked in.
You have to understand that is the reality for a lot of vegans. In a theoretical scenario of a jubilee middle ground video on slavery where you have 4 slaves and 4 slave owners you wouldn't expect for everyone to put their differences aside and listen to the other side when they believe that the other side is comitting an atrocity. The fact the most vegans are nice towards meat eaters is a tastement of how nice of people they are in the first place and likely why they become vegan in the first place
They are propagandists who have centered their identities so much around their consumptive decisions that they would have an identity crisis if they seriously considered the lived experiences of ex-vegans or people who practice holistic farming or really anyone who takes this topic seriously while not being vegan. Humans can not live on plant-based protein; it's unhealthy and dangerous, and we don't have two stomachs to fully absorb all the nutrients of the vegan diet. We need a balanced diet and supplements to get all the Vitamins and Minerals from plants that our stomachs fail to digest.

The difference is race isn't a meaningful biological category reflecting relevant properties. Species is. Humans are the most intelligent and the most altruistic which rationally leads to prioritisation of fellow humans above any other being. It's not just a claim to supremacy. It's a self fulfilling prophecy that saved us from extinction
@@ParadoxXx-eh8bt What are the morally relevant properties distinguishing humans from other species of animals and justifying such cruel differential treatment? You mentioned intelligence but that quality varies in degree and type both within and across species. For any non-human animal you appeal to the apparent lower intelligence of in comparison to most humans, there are many cases of humans with similar cognitive profiles that most would agree still deserve moral consideration. I also don't see how intelligence is morally relevant. It's basically ableism used to justify speciesism. And regarding ability to be altruistic (moral agency), not only are there humans who similarly lack that ability, but ironically having that ability would arguably confer a higher responsibility to treat other sentient beings with respect & kindness, regardless of their own intelligence or conception of morality. You mentioned that humans are merely prioritising themselves over others, but this isn't true. They're prioritising their arbitrary habits and traditions over others too, since it wouldn't require any sacrifices to be made on the part of humans in order to simply value other animals enough to show them compassion. What we might've needed to do in the past in order to survive isn't relevant to our current situation when for the vast majority of people that doesn't apply and we have the ability to thrive without exploiting & violating entient beings.
Case in point: It's possible (though debatable on whether this is an ethical or rational view/position in itself) to believe that humans are more morally valuable than other sentient species, or perhaps to hold a bias towards your own species over others, without that necessarily justifying needless cruel treatment of other species despite having suitable alternatives we could use to meet all our needs (& even desires). In fact, there are a number of additional reasons to do so other than out of obligation to respect other sentient beings as far as we practically can without harming ourselves, which actually greatly benefit the human species, our health, wellbeing, stability of our civilisation, and the environment/climate/planet we live in too. So even if you cared much more about humans than any other animal (which includes species that most claim to care about like dogs btw), the logical and ethical action would still be to show kindness to other animals because doing so not only benefits them but also ourselves as well.

@@terrie6738the real reason supplementation is needed in a vegan diet is because the sanitizer ion of our food in the modern world. B12 is the only true thing that’s lacking in a vegan diet. Everything else u can reliably get if you know what to eat. And b12 is a bacteria that we would get from contaminated foods and that’s how almost all other animals get it. But we sanitize our foods so we have to supplement to actually make up for the fact that we live in a modern world
I'm going crazy how not a single person said 'YES!" when vegan to carnivore lady or the other lady next to her asked if she was eating wrong on the vegan diet and losing her period etc. Its just SO clear that she was malnourished and not even eating enough calories to stop losing weight.
We are considered omnivores by biologists because we can digest animal products. That does not mean that we need to in order to thrive. Omnivore literally means eating everything. Since you do not eat everything that is edible such as bugs you are not an omnivore in the literal sense. What humans need to thrive are the proper macronutrients and micronutrients regardless of the source.
@@someguy2135 ?? I am a biologist, that is not what omnivore means. It means that the species eats animals and non animals to thrive. And people do eat bugs. If you only ate animal products, you would be deficient in nutrients. If you were to only eat non animal products, you would be deficient in other nutrients. Thanks to modern medicine, you can take supplements to not be deficient, but if we did not have modern medicine, you would be malnourished if you did not eat as an omnivore. So your last statement is correct. Taking a look at our anatomy and physiology we can clearly see that we are omnivores. Our digestive tract, our teeth (molars for grinding plant matter and canines for tearing flesh).

Also The word picnic originated from the French term “pique-nique”, which appeared in the 17th century. It was used to describe a social gathering where attendees contributed food or drink, often eaten informally. • “Pique” means “to pick” or “peck,” and “nique” is a playful or meaningless rhyme, suggesting something small or insignificant. Together, the phrase implies casually picking at food. • The term entered English in the late 18th century, retaining the idea of an outdoor meal or informal gathering. Over time, “picnic” came to specifically describe meals enjoyed outdoors, typically on blankets or at tables in scenic settings.

These two Asian women are health cultists looking for the answer to all their malaise. They were never actually vegan, just dieters.

Don't know how someone can be vegan all this time and not eat seitan. Was one of the first recipes I learned, great for protein

Should you find a middle ground with an oppressive belief? Should you find a middle ground with things like genocide and racism?
You have to understand that is the reality for a lot of vegans. In a theoretical scenario of a jubilee middle ground video on slavery where you have 4 slaves and 4 slave owners you wouldn't expect for everyone to put their differences aside and listen to the other side when they believe that the other side is comitting an atrocity. The fact the most vegans are nice towards meat eaters is a tastement of how nice of people they are in the first place and likely why they become vegan in the first place

We are considered omnivores by biologists because we can digest animal products. That does not mean that we need to in order to thrive. Omnivore literally means eating everything. What humans need to thrive are the proper macronutrients and micronutrients regardless of the source.
@@someguy2135 ?? I am a biologist, that is not what omnivore means. It means that the species eats animals and non animals to thrive. And people do eat bugs. Thanks to modern medicine, you can take supplements to not be deficient, but if we did not have modern medicine, you would be malnourished if you did not eat as an omnivore. @@NicoleReign That's not at all my point. The prompt doesn't say "animals were put on earth ONLY for humans to eat and not for any other animals to eat or to serve any other purposes".
I eat meat, but the raw meat eater is crazy. 😂
I did it for a couple years along with raw milk, fruits, and raw honey. Once your pallete gets used to it its not bad, its only weird because of societal norms. A lot of people and cultures eat raw meat.

@@gabrielle.r1760 the French word pique-nique is based on the verb piquer, which means 'pick', 'peck', or 'nab', and the rhyming addition nique, which means 'thing of little importance', 'bagatelle', 'trifle'.
Yeah it's from French origins, pique nique
Because that is the way the word picnic was used in the United States for decades, unfortunately. That is not where the word itself originated from but that is where the word was popularized in the United States.
@@sashanoel8766he explicitly said that's where the word comes from. There is a difference between how a word might have been used in the past and where the word comes from. It just takes one Google search.
1:11:50 -- steakandbuttergirl does not currently eat dairy and 1:12:33 went 6 years vegan without eating tofu, tempeh, and seitan. And 1:10:10 claimed she would get hungry within 30 minutes after she ate. Honestly, it's hard to believe she was eating properly. You need to eat fats, fiber, and enough calories to signal to your body you have eaten enough. I do wonder what kind of wholefoods plantbased diet she was doing. If you take it too far to say like avoiding grains and stuff, you will probably get hungry.
How are you asian and not indulgence in the best vegan food out there.. the abundance of healthy, delicious plant based food in asia is crazy.
It's clear she has an eating disorder lol
likely something like a raw fruitarian. technically vegan lmao
Basically just don’t eat something that can spike your insulin levels and you won’t get hungry again for some time
Sounds very much like she was having one cucumber per day, and half an apple as a treat on weekends. Yep, that technically qualifies as “whole foods plant based” but is in no way what the vegan community/movement is advocating for. It’s a shame she found herself being influenced by a pocket of hateful, hurtful diet-pushers, and it looks like she hasn’t quite escaped yet by switching to the pseudoscientific carnivore diet instead. It breaks my heart.
26:06 Vegens always roll their eyes at this one. Giving emotion to plants. Just because a plant or grass cant scream when you step on them doesnt mean it's not "unhappy." Plants go yellow without water or brown when too cold, the wilt without oxygen or burn when exposed to fire. If plants could cry...
That being said, i think we should eat everything! Responsibly.
Edit: Both diets can work. 13 essential vitamins to survive. B12 requires meat, but vegans can take B12 supplements. Meat 'can' work, but usually lacks many multi-vitamins, UNLESS we eat certain parts such as the brain, the organs, the bone. - Otherwise the best diet is a full mix of fruit, veggies, and various meats.
Not that woman saying with her straight face that she is a better person and just minutes later saying to another person that they should have died before eating meat. 😂
I can’t believe there’s not more comments about her did we not watch the same video !!!!
She pissed me off the whole time. Her virtue signaling, morally superior attitude, and annoying voice honestly made me turn the video off for a while 🤣
The meathead girl in the white was such an airhead in so many ways, but demonzing tofu and setain as food with "such long ingredient lists" is hilarious! Tofu: fermented beans. Seitan: wheat, broth, spices, olive oil, soy sauce or liquid aminos. Like. What? !
Plus meat has multiple compounds aka ingredients. Meat isn't on the periodic table if I recall 🤔

We literally evolved to be more civilised in order to get away from the brutality of nature. Why do you want to use nature as a justification for injustice? Do you know that pro slavers used the same exact argument?
WHAT WAS THIS DEBATE ABOUT?!! 🤣🤣🤣 “look at how moral I am”
Where’s the fact check on the screen for this lol
Yes that is where the word is derived from but it was later used against black people in the America’s. The person who had made this statement was not fully correct when saying this but it is apart of its history make sure to include that when you are giving historical context of words.
@@patrickgray2960you do not need to historically contextualize every word you say. Words have meaning NOW. Use the proper word for NOW. You don’t need to describe how the word was previously used. That’s unnecessary and time draining
This is completely false. It was never used for that @@patrickgray2960
@@mitchellscheer677 It’s really not that hard sis this dude had enough time to write about two paragraphs worth of information. If you try to correct someone they can give you the full correct information in about two to three sentences.
Eating just meat let alone raw meat is wild. And people call vegans weird
How so? There are plenty of tribes around the world that have diets like this.

@@BroccoliLand my point was not against eating roots and vegetables. It think we all know the importance of carbs in the human diet. The point that op made was that eating raw meat is weird. I'm making a point that it isn't necessarily weird.
I don't think so. People should be able to choose which animal on this planet they wanna eat like. Especially when they have a sister that allows any of them.
People call vegans weird because most of them act holier-than-though when in reality a lot of wm are just shitty people
I have consumed a lot of internet over the years, but that is the wildest and most RANDOM race card I have ever seen! I actually spit out my drink 🤣 🤣🤣
Comparing animal farming to slavery isn't random at all, it's actually a great analogy for a type of oppression that was once normalized in society.
