True expression and eloquence. Playing that actually says something. None of the well learned violin mannerisms and safe playing of the other competitors. Kevin's physical balance with the instrument is in itself a masterclass.
Bravo, Kevin Zhu! Your artistry, ability, and devotion to the music are apparent in every note you played during this competition. The judges should feel absolutely ashamed for the part they played in eroding the integrity of the Queen Elisabeth Competition. I wish you a successful and much-deserved concertizing career.
You can see the level of dedication, he is completely exhausted at the end, I would even say lost in the music. I saw him play in the concert hall in the semis and it was mesmerizing. Not only his technical ability which is absurd, even for the competition, but also his sound, his projection is HUGE, without being harsh or ugly. The intensity of his interpretations is nearly overwhelming, the intentions are so clear that even from the live stream I felt crushed by the musical overload. Even if he didn't get first place here, I think the world took notice and we will see him much more in the near future.
The judges decision to place him 4th seems to be so unpopular and controversial, the publicity might just help him in his future career. I certainly hope so!
Came here from TwoSetViolin! You are an amazing musician, Kevin! Your artistry in this performance took me on a journey that I will never forget. Bravo!!!
I wonder if they’ll make the scores public. Maybe it was down to .02 or something for all the finalists, kinda like how elli was .09 below Joshua in the china comp…one judge putting him at 95 and her at 94 is what makes or break an entire prize

Bravo. Perfect performance.
Voilà vraiment la révélation de ce Concours, tellement au dessus des autres candidat.e.s!
Drôle de palmarès!
So deep 🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏🥇🥇🥇
True winner!!!
INCREÍBLE ❤️🔥
Le classement est totalement ridicule...il aurait dû obtenir le 1er prix. Tellement extraordinaire
C’est un résultat très politique…très déçue😢
@@Linda-l4u7p I do totally agree with you. It's not unfair.
What a fantastic, hair-raising performance. A beast of a piece, and Zhu tackles it masterfully. Great work from the orchestra, too.
감정선 미쳤다!
최고 1등
Real winner. Much better than dima.
4th prize is way too low. Injustice.
I do totally agree with you
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
first competition I ever heard where intonation, expression, tone, and depth were overlooked. jury was definitely imitating Joe Biden's mental acuity
I wonder if the jury only started listening on the last day of performances
@@mkuo22 I bet the scoresheets got mixed up before the announcement. Someone probably realized it and it was too late to turn around
I think you have to be there to understand
@@talesfromthequick2015 they called out the wrong first place winner and redid it lol

Paganini, but with more empathy, brains and modesty !
With great and inspiring future...
He deserves the winner and the real finalist.

케빈은 음정이 정확한데
디미트로는 음정이 특히 고음과 더블 코드에서 불안하다.
He wields the 1722 ‘Lord Wandsworth’ Stradivarius violin, graciously lent by the Ryuji Ueno Foundation and the Rare Violins of New York In Consortium.
Es op. 99
I don't like his use of Vibrato, other than that everything is pretty decent
