Found you through Leandra! I am also reading The Wager in June. I loved Piranesi when I read it. I hope you love it as well. I also drag my feet when picking up books that I think are going to be amazing. I think I do it because I want to pick them up at the right time, but then sometimes that means I don't pick them up. Great TBR! Happy Reading!
Hi Danni, welcome to the club! 😊 How great! You're more than welcome to join in on the future book club (video) in the beginning of July to discuss, I've heard great things! And I can't wait to read Piranesi, I've been patient for months already! 😂 Yes, I also want to read them at the right time, I don't want to waste it on a time when I don't enjoy it to the fullest! I'm the same with movies and TV shows, which drives my partner crazy 😆 Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment, it means a lot! And I'm really excited to watch your video on weird books. Love me a bit of weird every now and then! ^^
@@Shellyish The back of my mind has been working on this puzzle, and it must have been Clytemnestra you heard 😂 Very similar sounding title and the cover was blown out by the light in the video. I imagine the books are quite different though haha!
Welcome to the club and thanks for coming over! 😊 I'm really excited for that one too, I hope I can get to it this month! What are you currently reading?
I hope you have a great month reading all these. I really liked Piranesi, particularly the first part, which is disorienating and mysterious and explores how loneliness and isolation affects memory and perception (I think?). At the time, I felt the ending way a bit 'easy', but now I've had time to reflect on it, I get what what the author was going for. The Wager was another book I enjoyed. It reads more like historical fiction, which is a good thing. It's often gripping but maybe could have added a bit more suspense and detail towards the end. I'd love to join the book club for July or August. I really liked I Who Have Never Known Men. It's one of those books whose enjoyment would be deepened by having somebody to discuss it with. It poses a lot of intriguing questions, yet has a frustrating lack of answers. I DNFed Bunny at the time, but it could be one of those books that clicks if you're in the right mood. I would be open to trying it again. I enjoyed The Song of Achilles way more than I though, so Clytemnestra definitely interests me. Rebecca Kuang has been hit (Yellowface) and miss-ish (The Poppy War) so Babel would be an interesting choice although I hear that it can be preachy and tells you what to think, which puts me off. Only one way to find out.
Thank you so much! I've only just started The Wager, but I'm really enjoying it so far. The language level is pretty advanced for me, but I'm getting into it more and more. At least it's good practice for my English skills ^^ I would love to get to Clytemnestra this summer, and I who have never known men :) I mean, I obviously want to read all the books on the list but those are definitely up there! And yeah, I think Bunny could be fun to discuss, from what I've heard. (Which isn't much, I prefer to go in pretty blind!) Yellowface was not my favorite at all, so I'm not sure if Babel will be either, but I am intrigued and just like you said, only one way to find out! 😄 And I guess the more divise ones are even more fun to talk about! Thank you so much for your input and I would be very happy for you to join the book club! I'm thinking I should do a quicker video pretty soon with options for both months, so that people can plan ahead a bit more. So look out for that and we'll see where the jar and the poll takes us! 😁

Yey that would be so fun! 😊 I can’t wait to read those, The Wager I will definitely read and then I’ll see what else I can fit in and if people have thoughts! 😊❤
@@ellenmadebookclub haha yes!! It gets a little easier every time, maybe? 😂 Yeah the second prompt is a great idea, love that! Hope you love The Wager and everything else you end up reading in June! So excited for Piranesi!!
