  • Join me on a full tour in 4K of Damaraland Camp. This beautiful lodge is set in a magnificent, desolate landscape which is home to rare desert adapted elephants and black rhinos. The lodge is managed by Wilderness Safaris (Africa's premier luxury safari operator) and has been a model for community-based conservation initiatives since 1996.

I enjoy your videos of luxury hotels. But those videos in Namibia are really something else. "Peace" is the best word to describe the feeling of these sceneries . Thank you for sharing.

This accommodation seems more humble compare with previous Namibia's hotels. But the adventure to see elephant, giraffe and rhino in front of own eyes are more fascinating in my opinion. If I have to choose only 1 of these hotels and trip, I pick this one.

Here you are drawn into a world similar to March. To a cozy and simple hotel that gives you everything you could want. The hotel gives you a sense of what it is like to live locally, with its robust and natural furniture and interior. Here you are really in one with nature, with its simple little cabins. The fact that you have the opportunity to see the wilderness so closely, with its black rhinos and majestic elephants, makes the experience absolutely fantastic. Fabulous service from the staff with a surprise breakfast. Nice story and video. And here you have brought out much of the simple and natural that gives you an inner peace and tranquility. Beautiful video. With many nice pictures that capture many beautiful situations and moments.

    So, so, so enjoyable.
I've watched many southern African safari vids, but this is, undoubtedly, one of the best.
I could smell the wood smoke of the fire, I tasted the fine dust that the elephants raised, I saw God's glory in the sunrise.
One can't ask for much more than this.
    God bless,
    Dave

What a breakfast ! Also the combination of music, and silence was perfect. Particularly liked the African choral music half way through- reminded me of the choral music at the end of “Cry Freedom” - still have this video clip on my phone- immensely powerful with the rolling script. Did also enjoy the “simpleness” of it and the friendliness of staff. Can’t wait till next week - shudder to think how good if best ever you have stayed in !

Thank you LTE for another amazing video. I look forward to your videos and watch with pleasure. It's incredible that all the lodge holidays in Namibia are so wonderfully different and beautiful with incredible landscape and friendly staff members. It's so important that operators support the local community and to be a part of that must have been quite humbling. Take care.

Set in the Huab River valley, Damaraland Camp Namibia boasts sensational views of the surrounding desert plains, ancient valley and the soaring peaks of the Brandberg Mountains. Ten adobe-style thatch units are raised on individual wooden decks, park of which extends out to form a large viewing platform with magnificent vistas.

Just looked it up: Damaraland is from 1000-1500 USD a night. If you're able to travel spontaneously, prices are starting at 700 USD a night. Single persons pay double person price. These are non-luxury booking site prices. Official wilderness safari site prices are inquire only. Nearby Doro Dawas is cheaper. Poor people alternative nearby (not from wilderness) is named Ondundu Lodge which is 40-60 km away.

It fascinates me how large animals have adapted to the desert terrain. And what spectacular terrain and beautiful sky. Simply other-worldly. So when are we going to Antarctica, Dr. LTE??? I need to cool off after visiting the desert, delightful as it has been. However, I'm guessing luxury accommodations might be difficult to come by in the coldest regions of Planet Earth. No matter where you go, I am sure to follow :)

I’m used to driving on rough roads, having driven in a number of areas in western Wyoming. I assume this is a rental car you’re driving? However, and I’m a little embarrassed to ask, but as a typical American, I’m used to just driving automatic transmission cars and not “stick shift“ vehicles. Was your rental automatic or standard transmission? Thank you. When it comes to travel videos on TH-cam, you’re my hero! You produce the finest travel videos!

  • @HafidzMF
    @HafidzMF 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I have an important suggestion for you, if you have the phone number of the hotel manager in the desert, I have 5 points of advice,
    1. all employees must have the tactical ability to use firearms,
    2. the hotel must provide firearms, helmets and bulletproof vests for visitors,
    3. all hotel employees must have medical skills,
    4. must have bunkers connected from each room, to the main bunker,
    5. must have a personal security network that can be deployed quickly by helicopter to desert hotels that have Evacuation and medical skills,
My advice is to anticipate robbers or pirates who want to take money or extort asking for ransom by holding visitors hostage, this is really a concern
we all see 360 degree security loophole
even if an airsofter is given a real gun, it can easily invade a hotel in the desert like this, I hope all visitors stay safe
I'm sure if James Bond came here, he would bring heavyweight combat equipment
