    I lived in Maun for four years with the Peace Corps in the mid-1970s - - - - loved the Okavango. Mostly, I loved the Botswana people!! I hope to return to my village while my health is still decent.

    I will be going to Botwana in November.... Do you recommend warmer clothing for the evenings? Also , is it worth carrying binoculars ? Loved the music in your video

    • @JourneyswithLeJune
      @JourneyswithLeJune  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We were there at the very end of October and it was still warm in the evenings, and definitely did not need any warmer clothes. I imagine it’s not too much difference in November. I would recommend bringing some binoculars. Nothing too fancy or expensive, we bought a pair of Amazon for about £30 and they worked just fine! Hope you enjoy your trip!!

    Very nicely done! 👍 I was there way back in 1998 on a 10 day tour (which included 3 days in Zimbabwe at Victoria Falls). Chobe National Park, Moremi Game Reserve, and the Savuti Marsh area. The camps/lodges were very similar to yours (quality of accommodations, etc.). “If there were one more thing I could do, it would be to go on safari once again.” - Karen Blixen, _Out Of Africa_ Cheers! 🙂

    Greta video!
    My wife and I are going next year and you have certainly increased our excitement.
    There is one question that perhaps you can help with. What was the story on luggage in small plane that brought you to the camp? Thanks if you can help.

    • @JourneyswithLeJune
      @JourneyswithLeJune  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much. You will have an incredible time so definitely get excited! :) We didnt actually take a small plane to the camp. We flew into Maun and the lodge picked us up from there in a jeep. It was a 2hr drive to the lodge but you saw animals on the way, so not a bad journey at all. We just stayed at the one lodge to limit travel and maximise our time. Hope that helps!

    • @caroldavis4560
      @caroldavis4560 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      We went twice in 2022. Small planes really want and need your luggage to be soft-sided and light. We were given (and met) a weight limit of 33 lbs per person, including camera gear. We each used a 40 liter duffle (from Eagle Creek) plus a soft (but firm) camera bag. No wheels if at all possible. Anything like that makes it harder to fit bags into the small holds. Since all camps do laundry (included), you don't need lots of clothing. Some of the small planes hold up to 12 passengers, while others are 4 to 6 passengers.
