@@peregrino9154 I wait tables. I was here in June. Priorities. Also, I feel proud supporting the staff at this place who did an outstanding job. Not that I have anything against rich people, since they provide jobs and income for everyone else, and poor people are mostly envious and greedy and offer nothing to society. Prove me wrong? Remember, I'm a poor person.

Those of us who are Africans we don't know how Africa is stunningly beautiful until we go to somewhere else. Africa is a piece of heaven and this gentle man professionally delivered it.

@@Cassiopeia1992 al maha is amazing, and a good reference to dessert lodge, but you still feel very close to civilization and connected when there. You truly have to experience both to realise the surreal magical feeling of sossuvlei. It really is incomparable

After 25 years self-employed in the signage industry i was fortunate to make a career change and become a freelance german speaking tourguide as from 2017 and was thus blessed to have stayed at most lodges in Namibia, Botswana and Vic Falls. Sadly the cursed Plandemic put a sudden end to what were becoming the best years of my life. Thanks for bringing back some awesome memories of my travels through Namibia ; the land of wide open spaces

The Desert; the Silence & the Beauty, Amazing 👌🙏
Most unexpectedly, I was moved to tears more than once as I watched this video.
There is a haunting timelessness to this kind of desolate beauty particularly when viewed against such a crystal clear sky.
I was reminded of Shelley’s poem :
“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."
exactly seeing beautiful landscapes like this puts life in perspective.
My wish is that you are able to experience this in person. And it doesn't even have to be this particular lodge, you can take a tent and go camp, but just get yourself to this dessert, and prepare a playlist with your best songs. There is some mythical surreal energy in the sand and stones under your feet. I was shooting a film for 2 months on the orange river, quite a bit south of sossuvlei, but its where this desert starts, and i had a couple of Odesza albums on repeat, what a spiritual awakening it was. Someone needs to scatter my ashes over the brandberg one day please

I was booked to do a solo guided trip to Namibia in 2/2020 and barely 12 hours before I was to leave my home in Tennessee my dear twin sister had a stroke. Thankfully she has recovered! At that time the &Beyond resort was closed for renovation. Maybe I can consider a new trip to Namibia now that Covid seems to be diminishing! I grew up in the desert of California and love the landscape but this eclipses anything in the United States!
Sorry for the interruption in your plan to come and visit our beautiful country Namibia🇳🇦. I trust God for a total recovery of your sister and good health for your entire family. You will make it again to Namibia 🇳🇦.

Just wow .. the contrast of desert 🏜 and luxury accommodation. It is like a resort from any 6 ⭐️ island or beach hotel is transported to the location. I’m relaxed even just watching 🥂👏
Agreed...but the decor, as luxury as it is, is done with such a connection to the environment and is not over the top ..
This place is so beautiful. If given the opportunity to stay a few nights here, I'd take it and just enjoy the beautiful scenery. Bring my spiral notebook and plenty of pencils and pens in case any inspiration came to me.

thank you for the well wishes about my precious twin sister! God has done His miracle with her and she is fully recovered! Praising His name for that! As of now I am refocusing travel to Australia/New Zealand as it seems to be finally opening again but if not(particularly for New Zealand)I will refine my travel plans to Namibia!

It’s a different type of feeling.
This has been the most impressive hotel up to now! I love the quietness, the views, the possibility of seeing wild life and the stars and on top of all that, the dunes and clay pan with the thorn trees were simply mesmerizing! The fact of being in a hotel with excursions included makes it more interesting! Congrats for the beautiful videos & fantastic music.

5:43 love the soft gentle piano music as you read the sign about leopards, snakes and scorpions in the area. this place has a gym - but why bother; seems you can get enough exercise just from hiking those sand dunes. 42:48 must feel so therapeutic on the feet
