the ugly answer to this is that E85 tends to be harsh to a lot more than your fuel lines... Injectors, HPFP, LPFP all take a beating. seen quite a few HPFPs gummed up from E85

Keep this kind of content up. I’m in the same boat but I am restricted to 91. Essentially shitty 91 on IS38 vs the standard vortex. Mostly highway driving very rarely race. Any race would be random pulls against someone on their way home from work like me. I’m leaning EQT IS38+.

IE has an OTS tune for the Garrett 2260 which is literally the best option over the IS38. I hav it but its also been proven to spool faster than both of these and offers the top end as well and ~450 hp. on a 91 tune i put out 404 WHP and 435 lbs/ft. I have a mk7 gti with basically all APR and IE parts + Garrett GT2260. + Garrett has been around for 60+ years. EQT is one guy in his basement.

@@cbnash8295The 2260 is not a good option over is38. It requires more supporting mods and that level of torque is a lil risky for a dd in these cars. Is38+ gonna be a more reliable daily setup overall. The turbo is a non issue when it comes to reliability, it’s the engine you gotta worry about.
Also IE tunes are known to bend rods and cause other issues with high torque on stock internals so watch for that.

I'm new to your channel. Serious question wanting to learn. As with everything, there are always pros and cons. With how light the GTI is, power to weight ratio, and truly how unfair of an advantage you have on everyone in roll races, how come more people don't build GTI or Golf R's like you see people build other common platforms like Chargers, Challengers, Supras (MKIV or MKV), BMW M2/M3/M4, etc? Do you think there is a particular reason or simply just not educated enough in your platform? There is a guy on TH-cam who built a following and was smashing with his built GTI who sold it earlier this year and bought a 2023 Supra that he's now building. Curious to hear your experience and thoughts.
