    Hey mate, nice video 👍, I’ve literally just finished all the changes to my 21 smcr , I definitely recommend going from 42 to 45 at the rear 👍, you hardly loose top but you gain quite a bit lower down, for the engine light, buy a obd2 and cable on eBay or Amazon for like 25/30 dollars and you be able to read read and clear faults, I had the engine light on for unplugging the 02 but now with the dongle and after resetting it stays off 👍👍 like your videos 👍👍 regards

    I have one too. I have the rotweiller intake, SAS delete, Tekmo headder and slip on, pc5 ,Excell wheels, brake Tech rotors and a few other mods. I bought kutvek graphics. I didn't change the gears. Once you do the time and all the other stuff it's going to have gobs of power.

    I've been considering an adventure bike, too. I used to take my SV650S everywhere. Rode it through creeks, trails, in the mud, etc. Having a bike that's actually capable of that would be fun.

    KTM actually designs most of their bikes to go one tooth down in the front, because otherwise they wouldnt pass some exhaust regulations in europe. I also went one down in the front and i gotta say the change in acceleration is quiet nice and the bike dose around 210 km/h in stock gearing and I really dont see the point in going that fast on a bike without a windshield so I went for acceleration :)

    maybe try disconecting the battery for longer like i said i had the same problem and first i disconected the battery for like 10 minutes and nothing happened but then i did it again for like 30 minutes and then the check engine light was gone so maybe try disconecting it for longer

    Stock gearing??? Some are perfect but SO many supersport bikes are geared to the moon in 1st gear. I don't generally need to go 70 in 1st.

    • @alphaomega3633

  • @oldman774
    @oldman774 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For trails you need a lighter bike, Adventure bikes is hard work on trails. 690 enduro weighs 145kg dry, 890 adventure 200kg, if you are going to ride mostly trails you might even want to go for a smaller enduro ktm that weighs 120 kg

    • @joesti7607
      @joesti7607  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The trails i want to hit are not too gnarly so i was thinking the 890 because i have to ride about an hour to them.

      @oldman774 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joesti7607 I have the 690 enduro, and it is pretty much the same as your smcr, more than enough power for highway and offroad, personally the decision why I bought the 690 enduro was because of weight, even though I don’t do heavy enduro, the bike is perfect for me, much easier to learn offroad on than a 890

    Wheelies are the elicit drug of the millineal generation. Seems that's all people try to do, is ride the rear wheel.
    What about skids, stoppies, gymkhana, drifting, rolling burns, backing into curves, knee-down cornering, opposite lean cornering, slow speed handling, emergency braking......

    • @joesti7607
      @joesti7607  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lots of things to learn on a motorcycle. If i was learning left turns someone would tell me i should learn right turns instead. I do track days at ncm and mid ohio as well ad half mile events on my big bikes. wheelies teach throttle control, brake control, and balance so its a good thing to practice.

    • @exothermal.sprocket

      @@joesti7607 Perhaps someone would. I wouldn't. I watch a ton of motorcycle content, also listen to a ton of motorcycle podcast content. I also go to demos and talk with people. I've also worked at a dealership. I do have a look at the barometer of the sport and prevailing trends.

    • @joesti7607
      @joesti7607  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@exothermal.sprocket I’m not saying you specifically. I just get this kind of stuff a lot. I spend a lot more time on bikes than most. I do road course style track days. 1/2 mile. Roll racing. Drag racing. Supermoto stuff. All of it. And try to get better at it all but always when I do one thing someone tells me I should do another. Honestly one of the hardest things I have done is getting fast on the H2 which typically people act like it’s easy because it’s in a straight line but most have no idea what it’s like to actually strap yourself to a bike that goes 60-130 in less than 3 seconds and operate it at a high level

    • @exothermal.sprocket

      @@joesti7607 It's a whole lotta thrust and motor skills get affected adversely when the body undergoes such things. I'm sure you've heard of Moore Mafia and his dragster GSX-R1000 achieving 6.30 @ 233.64 mph in the 1/4 with no wheelie bars.
