I have really bad hearing from many years of rock concerts and competition car stereos. When I heard the Airpod pro 2s were doubling as hearing aids I immediately bought a pair. It's been nothing short of life changing. I wear them constantly. Very much looking forward to seeing how Apple can improve this area of their functionality.
I'm more of a Casio F-91W kind of guy, but I do hearing about LG's efforts to make OLED more daylight-readable and energy-efficient. If the iPad Mini ever gets refreshed with their tandem-OLED & micro lens array tech, that would be pretty tempting.
The problem is Apple gobbles up market share without even trying to compete so they don’t care to cannibalize one of the few reasons to still buy a Pro.
Apple doesn’t have to try that hard anymore to compete. Their users are stuck, not because of the hardware, but because of the ecosystem and especially iMessage. RCS may help break down the wall a bit but the implementation on iOS 18 may not be anything great
Apple is already competitive : you just have to look top 10 smartphones sales worldwilde, which include regular iPhone 12,13,14, 15 the last years. Real people not geeks, buying a 60hz iPhone because they wants an iPhone and DGAF about 60hz.
TH-camrs can talk about so many things on the new iPhone. But I always find 70% of iPhone users around me who don't even know AirDrop exist. They don't know when the new iOS coming out. They bought just because it's an iPhone and they HAVE TO get the best one.
I have got an iPhone 11 Pro here that I only bought two years ago. Probably gonna upgrade to an iPhone 14. If you are willing to stay two generations behind, you’re always going to pay about half price. 🎉
13:25 Actually, they even said in the keynote that it DOES move. It IS a physical moving button. It just has haptic feedback on top of it to simulate a two-stage button, like a camera shutter. It is NOT a "fixed piece of sapphire".
I'm not gonna let myself get too excited, but I really hope the shrinking gap between base and pro the past couple years means apple plans to consolidate back to a single-iphone lineup, like pre-11. Just pick what color, size, and storage and storage you want, so much easier and better for the environment.
What do I think? I"m skipping my upgrade window & waiting until next year. I will keep my IPhone 14 Pro Max thanks you!!! One of the more lackluster events i've seen from apple. Now i am saving my money for the mac event. Hopefully they hit it out of the park on that one & don't disappoint.
@ 13:28, Yes it is actually a button. Mr. Mobile did a Q&A with apple execs and they definitively explained it is a tactile switch with a haptic sensor built in on top of the button.
Gotta say I’m really excited for the new AirPods with anc. I’m not a fan of the silicone tips on the pros, and I also found the 3rd gen uncomfortable compared to 1st/2nd gen. And as far as noise cancellation goes, I actually don’t like blocking EVERYTHING out, so if these just bring some noises down I’ll be happy.
As far as I understand, in terms of performance the difference between the regular A18 and Pro is an extra GPU core. We'll see how much of a difference there is in synthetic benchmarks as the phones come out, of course. Anyways, I've bought a base model iPhone 13 when it was new. The base model iPhone 16 is the first compelling option since then, but the phone is still working wonderfully
I've been so busy the last couple days I'm just getting around to watching the first set of reactions following the keynote. Of course I watched the keynote first. Second, though, and before any others, I go to SLQ for all Apple content. So glad you posted this reaction, Quinn. I'm also looking forward in the coming months, after everyone else has already given their reviews and opinions, getting a Floss-style 'real review' or comparison between the new chips from QC, AMD and Intel (and maybe if you're feeling extra ambitious, Apple's M4 family).

You salivating over the watch at 5:26 sold this watch to me more than the event ever did
Congrats on being a father! Great coverage!
Am I the only one who can see a robot face here? 😂 0:51
Nah I see it too lol
I'm more of a Casio F-91W kind of guy, but I do hearing about LG's efforts to make OLED more daylight-readable and energy-efficient.
If the iPad Mini ever gets refreshed with their tandem-OLED & micro lens array tech, that would be pretty tempting.
15:39 who waiting for the JerryRigEverything video…
What's odd is that all of the Pixel lineup has 120hz refresh, even the 8a. You'd think Apple would be more competitive.
The problem is Apple gobbles up market share without even trying to compete so they don’t care to cannibalize one of the few reasons to still buy a Pro.
TBH Apple only really competes with themselves. Most people buy iphones because they're iphones, not because of specs sheets.
Apple doesn’t have to try that hard anymore to compete. Their users are stuck, not because of the hardware, but because of the ecosystem and especially iMessage. RCS may help break down the wall a bit but the implementation on iOS 18 may not be anything great
@@bizmonkey007 iMessage seems to be a huge thing in the US while in Europe it isn´t at all. 95% of messaging takes place via WhatsApp here.
Apple is already competitive : you just have to look top 10 smartphones sales worldwilde, which include regular iPhone 12,13,14, 15 the last years.
Real people not geeks, buying a 60hz iPhone because they wants an iPhone and DGAF about 60hz.
You know what needs to make a comeback ? The ceramic Apple Watch Edition. Friggin love the polished white finish
Just want to say that I appreciate your hard work and timestamps. Thanks
I want AirPods Max but just can’t justify them. Should be like $300-$350 not $550. Especially without a proper update.
That’s why they have beats lol
@@carlosdeleon6472 can’t justify those either. They suck for the money.
16:33 - caught me off guard. LOL
I still miss 3D touch
Might just replace my battery in my 13 pro
Best decision.
Waiting for you to do a review of your Apple Watch Ultra 2. I’m a long time mechanical watch fan and would love to hear your take on a smartwatch
TH-camrs can talk about so many things on the new iPhone. But I always find 70% of iPhone users around me who don't even know AirDrop exist. They don't know when the new iOS coming out. They bought just because it's an iPhone and they HAVE TO get the best one.
I got in at the right time it seems. iPhone 14 PM was my first iPhone and I’ve felt zero reason to upgrade since.
Welcome to the Apple world where longevity is a thing :)
Who tf even feels reason to upgrade in less than 2 years!? Unless if it's buggy or defected.
@@sushimshah2896 someone that sees an interesting or useful new feature and would like to incorporate in their daily driver.
I have got an iPhone 11 Pro here that I only bought two years ago.
Probably gonna upgrade to an iPhone 14.
If you are willing to stay two generations behind, you’re always going to pay about half price. 🎉
Except for USB-C.
I don’t know why this channel doesn’t have more followers, you have great content!
13:25 Actually, they even said in the keynote that it DOES move. It IS a physical moving button. It just has haptic feedback on top of it to simulate a two-stage button, like a camera shutter. It is NOT a "fixed piece of sapphire".
CPAP changed my life. Don't delay, you get used to it and it improves so much!
I'm not gonna let myself get too excited, but I really hope the shrinking gap between base and pro the past couple years means apple plans to consolidate back to a single-iphone lineup, like pre-11. Just pick what color, size, and storage and storage you want, so much easier and better for the environment.
The AirPods 4 with ANC are going to be incredible! The best announce they made IMO lol
I’ll be keeping my 13 pro and putting a new battery in it
I currently have an iphone 12pro max and after four years or so im upgrading to the 16 pro finally a upgrade worthy for me
The modem tech alone is well worth it
@@attribute-4677 yea i replaced my battery with a new one but as soon as i start using 5g it drains
I can’t get past 60hz for the screen. Otherwise, the standard iPhones would be a no brainer.
More pies and more skies.. 😂😂😂
@ 13:28, Yes it is actually a button. Mr. Mobile did a Q&A with apple execs and they definitively explained it is a tactile switch with a haptic sensor built in on top of the button.
The best round-up of the new iPhone 16/Pro I've seen. Extremely helpful. 👏👏👏
QUIINN Why was the pixel 9 used for magsafe ???
Gotta say I’m really excited for the new AirPods with anc. I’m not a fan of the silicone tips on the pros, and I also found the 3rd gen uncomfortable compared to 1st/2nd gen. And as far as noise cancellation goes, I actually don’t like blocking EVERYTHING out, so if these just bring some noises down I’ll be happy.
Surprised nobody mentioned the continued lack of blood oxygen sensing…
Yup me too
congrats on soon being a dad, Quinn!
Loved your video! I’ve decided to invest in a new iPhone, now I need some case recs
People have been obsessed with Burga lately, maybe it'll be something for you. I think they have cases for 16s available already
@@EmilyMooremore They do, I've pre-ordered one already for my new 16, and have one for my old iPhone 12, they're great
AWW congrats on the pregnancy!! you'll be an awesome dad!
Snazzy, great analysis with in-depth information when you need it, but digestible for general pop. Great video again! Best in the business
Don’t worry Quinn! I’m 28 and have sleep apnea….i feel like a 70 year old 😂
I've been so busy the last couple days I'm just getting around to watching the first set of reactions following the keynote.
Quinn, I got a CPAP at age 25. There's no shame, I promise. It took some getting used to, but my sleep quality has been noticeably better.
Snazzy labs i am glad you made the channel because you are soooooo different from all other channels and your opinions are way different and so useful. I am preordering the 16pro from iphone 14 just because i don’t wana regret later if i got the normal iphone 16.
