all i think when i hear iPod, is not the endless stream of music from my library, but the slow horrible experience of trying to sync my iTunes library to that thing. though one thing i could say I'm happy about iTunes, and it is that back in 2010 when i was looking the next phone after i too gave up on Symbian S60. i honestly looked at getting an iPhone, but then i learned that it also heavily relied on the use of iTunes. so i got Galaxy S1 instead and have been using various different Android phones ever since. nowadays one could probably play around with some slow and stupid "lets upload my files to iCloud and then download them back to the phone/PC (depending on which way I'm moving those files to) it would be really slow and stupid way, but it still would beat that stupid slow syncing stuff one had to do with iTunes back in the day.
If you choose to go with iPod, you don't have to rely on iTunes. All classic models support Rockbox which lets you just drag and drop music onto the device. Granted you'll still have the issue with slow interface so it might not be for you.
@@chandlerbing7570 was that an option in the days of iPod's early years too? if my job didn't require me to use my smart phone for deliveries I would have switched to a dumb phone already. but on Weekends when I am out with my friends or just doing stuff on my own. I carry around a little Digital Camera from 2004 and take pictures with that instead of my phone. I have a Walkman and a Minidisc Walkman that I try to listen to music on but I still need to get more of my music off digital platforms and put them on my PC. Some events I go to I take my VHS Camcorder out and vlog with it and upload them to TH-cam :)
Some social medias I just refuse to look at on my phone and wait to go home to browse on my computer and I have been using a lot more alt social media too. like Spacehey, Mastodon, Neocities etc. trust me turning off all the noise in my head from disconnecting when I am out is a god send, You see stuff no one else sees because their faces are buried in their phones.
I don't want to insult you, but.... what kind of mic is that? Have you ever heard of hidden audio equipment?
Good vid though, thanks
If i didnt need stupid apps to access simple things i would go to a flip phone. I try keep my phone simple but everything is just so accessible on it that its now inconvenient.
long lost twin?
5:50 why did you stoping to do it? Not on them, i can assure that. 👍🏼
all i think when i hear iPod, is not the endless stream of music from my library, but the slow horrible experience of trying to sync my iTunes library to that thing.
though one thing i could say I'm happy about iTunes, and it is that back in 2010 when i was looking the next phone after i too gave up on Symbian S60.
i honestly looked at getting an iPhone, but then i learned that it also heavily relied on the use of iTunes. so i got Galaxy S1 instead and have been using various different Android phones ever since.
nowadays one could probably play around with some slow and stupid "lets upload my files to iCloud and then download them back to the phone/PC (depending on which way I'm moving those files to)
it would be really slow and stupid way, but it still would beat that stupid slow syncing stuff one had to do with iTunes back in the day.
Honestly I do not care much about how those things work today since my phone does decent enough job as both music streaming and offline mp3 player.
Though if back in before 2010's such tools existed, then people didn't advertise them too much.
Id rather single use devices not make a comeback, it just adds to the e-waste we already produce and consume.
To use phones as an example, some replace them religious with the next generation, that is crazy.
True. But I still have my single use Chinese MP3 players!
7:02 your phone also has OIS
I use a Hiby R4 DAP
Correct subtitles please. Great video though😊
iPhone is continuing the iPod’s legacy
wow this video was pointless
Might not be important for you, but this video brought back fond memories for me of using the iPod and more purposeful design. Reading through the comments made me feel like I wasn't the only one.
Bringing together a community of like-minded people and creating positive feelings is a pretty cool thing
There are better music players available
Like what? Genuinely, this video made me want the old iPod, but I'd prefer to get something new. Any recommendations?
