    In our university hospital, there is a colour code, derma is green, surgeons are dark blue, gyn is white, the nurses everywhere are light blue, and there is a ward, where all wear orange. I just forgot, was it the onco or intensive care… so I think it would be fun to have tiedye scrubs amongst all those solid dyed ones. Only downside, they stay there and are washed in the big laundry on site, so you never know, where they end up. As a patient, I lost my white muselin sheet, I put on my pillow to catch my drool ;) I love orange, so I guess ordering the dye and making them colourful makes them look different enough, they dont get taken to the hospital laundry and lost. It will be fun to try different folds and dyeing methods with the same colours and see them similar but still all different.

      I used to work in a system where they did the laundry like that. I hated it. I didn’t like wearing other people clothes. The upside I wasn’t tracking germs into my home. I’m sorry you lost your pillowcase. That’s a good idea, a spiral with these colors would be pretty, or a watercolor scrunch. 🧡❤️🌈

    Such a pretty pattern!!
    And yes, Dharma is honest about the cost of it's products and the cost of shipping. It's admirable. But frustrating since Amazon and big box stores have us used to inflated product prices and "free" shipping.

    I do protein based fiber dying with acid dyes, mostly wool, not tie dying with fiber reactive dyes on cellulose based fibers. It’s quite a bit different, so this might make absolutely no sense. In acid dye, at the end of the process, the water left is usually completely clear the color having been completely bonded to the fibers. When I see the amount of color that is in the water that dripped down into the tub under the basket, I find myself wondering if it isn’t totally spent. I was thinking it might be a cool experiment to put a shirt or something down in the bottom of the tub and seeing what the drips from the garment in the basket do to it. Maybe one that has a tear or something anyway, so if the experiment goes badly it’s not a big deal.

    • @BelladonnaDyesCo
      @BelladonnaDyesCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would work. After 48 hours the chemical reaction of soda ash and procion dye is spent. I’ll add it to the tie dye journal. That would make a good demonstration. Thanks for the suggestion Jen. ☺️❤️🌈

      The raddiology, I get my dotatoc PET once a year has the pagient wear yellow oversized scrubs for the examination, and I agree, even though they are clean and usually fresh off the press, and germ free, it feels uncomfortable to wear them, knowing that how many before wore them. This is, why I usually bring my own comfort clothes to such out patient or in patient situations. Only time, I can not do this is going into surgery :) unfortunately, I have seen too many hospitals in the last 14 years and stopped counting how many surgeries I had and how many complications there were.
      If I know, I have to stay more than one night, I even bring my own pillow. So it will be fun to customize my hospital kit.
      I found a glow in the dark fleece fabric with space motives, and want to make a japanese inspired kimono top and pants set instead of a usual gown for throwing on going to examinations. So maybe this will be winter set, and for the warmer seasons, I tiedye one. If hospital stays are such a recurring theme, why not making the outfits fun?

    I always cut the sinew that is slack after I am done wrapping. It wont come undone. It also makes it easier to unwrap in the end. I got my sinew from Amazon and it was good. You might have been sent an old item. Amazon can be hit or miss that way. I would go leave a review on the sellers page on Amazon.
