I have tried this fold countless times and never can get good saturation. I have also muck dyes and still had less than desirable results. Your shirt came out beautiful.
Hmmm… could you be using too much ice and over diluting the dye? Not using enough dye? I have a few of these. I call them kaleidoscopes. Have you posted some process pictures in the group? Tag me so I can see. It’s a thick fold so darker colors like purples work well. ❤️🌈
Debby, right?? I think it can be done. Saturation will be a bit more challenging. You’ll just have to watch it and add more dye and ice. Maybe muck dye it. I’d love to see what you come up with. ❤️🌈

I didn't want anything too demanding since we were approaching Thanksgiving break. I have templates for them to get the general idea of cutting placment before they create their own and printed extra if they wanted to take them home to share with family. This is fun! Thank you for sharing your process with us.

Since the top side was so dark blue I wanted the other side to match. I wanted the ice blue to go in first without mixing with the navy and have a chance to saturate. Hope that makes sense. ❤️🌈

Yes, I just called a short sleeve Hanes tshirts every thing in the book but a short sleeve Hanes tshirt! T-shirt material is very stretchy so trying to get a perfect fold is almost impossible if it's been worn a lot.
It was pre-soaked. I do this with most all of my projects. Go back and watch the first 5 seconds of the tutorial, all of my tutorials. I have over 400 of them. It might give you a better feel of my style of doing things. ❤️🌈
You might want to re-think your "endorsement" of the ice machine. I love ice nuggets (for eating and dying) but the Amazon comments are really terrible re: machine reliability and lack of mfr customer service.

Most I've seen, the fabric is soaked in an ash solution first. Why wasn't that done?

Just curious, after tied, did you dry this out before wrapping in foil and adding dye and ice? Or was this dyed damp? Mine is folded and ready to go
I dye everything barely damp from the panda spin dryer unless I specify otherwise. Have fun Kathy. ❤️🌈
