My dad is still using the iPhone 8 Plus. He is in his late 70s and just doesn't give a f*** about much anymore, let alone what phone he has. Had it since new.
Honestly in most cases as users we dont even notice or need these so called upgrades,i have 2 friends one stuck on iphone 6s and another on iphone 8(i live in a 3rd world country) and these fons r running smoothly,I have a phone with 60 and 90 refresh rate n i Honestly couldn't tell u the difference, to me most of these upgrades are things we are told not things we can actively c unless someone asks u to specifically focus on it. My neighbour has a 13 pro max and recently I held a 16 pro max for about 20 minutes n i couldn't see any difference. Frankly for the average user i don't think we notice these so called upgrades
i'm using this phone, a hand-me-down from my brother-in-law, still original battery on 77% BH. my only worry is when they no longer support latest updates on apps because the iphoneX's ios stopped on ios16.
The iPhone 17 Air will be the first thinner and lighter 6.6-inch iPhone model since the iPhone X to come with the smaller form factor with the larger 5.8-inch display and the higher screen-to-body ratio than the 5.5-inch iPhone models since the iPhone 6 Plus.
I would say it’s not worth it in 2024. price of iPhone in the used market is mostly the same as the XS or XR and those support iOS 18 whereas the X only goes up to iOS 16, which is becoming more of an issue with Apps dropping support for iOS 16.
My uncle told me I have to get a bigger phone and I was like I already have an iPhone SE that still gets software updates and will probably get multiple software updates for several more years so why would I need to spend $1000 on a new phone? I don’t even have that kind of money.
This phone still looks great after 8 years

iPhone X in 2025 (8 Years Later)

If it had an option for 500gb storage it would be worth it
Using it as my secondary phone and it’s still doing pretty great
